“My experience with Michigan humane has been nothing short of amazing. They handle my dog with care and love, and they are always very considerate of time and finances.”
“Just went for the first time! Got sooo many scraps and supplies for my crafts, very excited to use them! Fantastic place if you’re into crafting, scrapbooking, or anything like that, will be back!”
“Staff is so friendly and made sure we knew how to properly care for our fur babies after getting them fixed and the prices are way more reasonable then all the local vets”
“I was lucky to meet founder Eleanor in the 1980's when we worked the Free Press Marathon. We are very happy to help with Focus: HOPE. My husband and I will volunteer more often. The workers here really had things organized.”
“Had a wonderful time to revisit an old classic. The organ was wonderful and the volunteers were super friendly and helpful. Looking forward to attending more events here!”
“Very interesting place. The event I attended was an art exhibit. Senior artists created a plethora of art in a variety of mediums. The facility as a whole is well thought out with space for activities and personal care assistance. I was informed they offer advocate services, mentorship and community fellowship events. Parking is readily available and easy to access. I really enjoyed the event”
“This is the best place for families with kids doing therapy or in-patient testing. The staff is absolutely the nicest and kindest people I've met outside the children's hospital. It is like a 5 star hotel and they have so many things for you when you forget the small stuff, to help you out. I wish I had stayed when my son was first born and in the NICU for 4 months. I donate my change every time at McDonald's! They made the hardest moments of life easier to handle because they thought of everything for you before you even arrived❤️”
“An Exquisite place that's been with us for over a hundred years. Saw some short plays and a wonderful collection of Broadway Tunes curated by Sean van Schwartz. The evening included a light collection of finger foods from Lily's catering with delicious desserts made by Sue the theater creative director. They will have another great show in April so do yourself a favor and make arrangements to be there!”
“Mark Covington is AMAZING. He's building food sovereignty for the people AND running low income programs like Thanksgiving food drives, and even has food pickup available throughout the month at this location! There's fruit trees and sunflowers and if you contact him and ask him, I'm quite certain that he'll hook you up so you and your family can be fed on wholesome food, not this garbage they sell at the stores. Awesome, awesome, awesome!!!!”
“My grandson and I were impressed with the amount of selections that were priced so that even a 12 year old young man's allowance was sufficient for gift giving. We were rushed through the gallery because we arrived only 15 minutes prior to closing, but we will return again for several gifts that my grandson is still talking about for birthday gifts.”
“I’ve been really impressed with this YMCA. The facility is clean, spacious, and truly feels like a place where the whole family can come together. As a parent, I love that I don’t have to choose between my fitness goals and spending time with my son — the YMCA makes it easy to bring everyone along and feel welcome.
I have to highlight Jayla, because she has genuinely elevated my experience here. Her step class is the perfect mix of fun, challenging, and high-energy. She has an incredible way of breaking moves down so everyone feels included, whether you’re brand-new or experienced. The community she builds in that room is unmatched.
I’ve also done personal training sessions with her, and they were extremely informative and self-rewarding. Jayla takes the time to understand your goals, explains every movement, and motivates you in a way that feels supportive — not overwhelming. I walked away each session feeling stronger, more confident, and more knowledgeable about my body.
If you’re considering joining the YMCA or looking for a class that will actually keep you consistent, Jayla’s step class and personal training sessions are 100% worth it.
Highly recommend this location and the entire team.”
“This was a jewel for my children when they were there years ago. Ms. Patrice did an amazing job making sure to provide children with a safe and supportive environment.”
“I always get hot chicken. I don't always agree with their fries, but they are hot most of the time as well.
I usually get the family special even if it's just me. Chicken rather fried or baked is my favorite food.
I see that the prices are up on chicken, but I still manage a way to eat from some of the most convenient locations.”
“I love The Hub and Back Alley Bikes! Whether I need a piece of advice, a new tube, or a full tune up, The Hub is always my first stop. The staff is always super kind, knowledgeable, and extremely helpful. The shop always has quality bikes and if they don’t have the parts I’m looking for they are quick to offer placing an order. Back Alley is also an incredible asset to have around with the amount of apartment dwellers that lack ample space to wrench on bikes. I love The Hub and Back Alley and I will tell anybody that will listen!!”
“This place is awesome, they have everything in a big city, that makes you feel like you’re in the country, animal zoo, model train, farming, and manufacturing, I love Pingree farms.”
“This school has changed my life! Finished my GED, they paid for me to go into a welding trade and now im welder with a job paying well and great benefits/ hours!✊✊🙌💰”

“I love st. Suzanne Cody rouge park because the playground is very safe and fun for my two wonderful grandchildren kaiden and Madison they both love and enjoy being here all the time!”
“Im completely new to bikes—so as you can guess, I don’t have any tools myself. A couple of friends took me to this place to help me fix up a bike I got off FB marketplace. I was blown away!! The staff and volunteers were amazing and took the time to teach me. I learned so much and feel really good about the work I did on my bike. Great resource for the community. Thanks all!”
“Very helpful service for the community. There was a long wait time from start to finish but can't complain because of the the free checkup and several medications.”
“I wanted to donate some extra fencing items left over from a fence project I had done recently. They came on the same day to do a pickup from my home for a reasonable price. Very happy with the service and to help out with my donation.”
“I absolutely love this place and now that I'm gone I even miss them. The majority of the employees there care about the residents. It's clean, they make sure your withdrawals are not too bad. When u 1st arrived you will be in detox 3 days or so then go over to the residents side for 29 days. The rooms have 2 to 3 people in it with its own shower/bath.
Breakfast is 7, lunch 11, dinner 4 and a snack at 8. If you're too sick to go to the dining area they will bring it to your room. Mondays and Tuesday are your long days you're in meetings from 9am to 10pm. Group meetings are mandatory every day 9-11. Church is on Sunday and Bible Study on Wednesday. They will help u get on your feet so u can survive when u get out. Oh and the men monitors are cute too, i know one resident who has started messing around with one recently. But the majority of them are not like that. It's a spiritually grounded place where God is first. Oh and you get to keep your phone and smoke whenever you want to. Let's see what else , Oh the food is good now it wasn't when I 1st got there but we complained about it at our weekly meeting and it has improved, a lot! As far as I'm concerned it's one of the best around, but I've only been to one other Christian guidance center, i caught COVID there. I was only there for 2 weeks but they never took my vitals when I was there. And Harbor Light checks them every 4 hours when you're in detox. And once you have completed everything you will get a certificate and a coin. Oh and u have to drop weekly, Oh and they also have a medical mobile unit that comes every Thursday iu need blood work or whatever done. Teally cool joint that I highly recommend”
“An organization dedicated to planting trees! Very knowledgeable and passionate staff. They take great care to pay attention to the details and ensure the trees getting planted will grow and thrive.”
“This place was really reasonable with their pricing and the service was friendly and fast. I would recommend this place to anyone looking to get your dog vaccines.”
“Bldg 90 host various resources for their clients & sparingly but graciously for the community such as monthly 4:15-5:30pm children readers and creators literacy program, 5-7pm bi- monthly structured male mentorship session same day/time parent discussion cafe, by appointment clothes closet & so much more.”
“Working with the team from Avalon Healing Center has been an eye-opening experience. They provide many forms of support for the community and survivors. They genuinely care about the well-being of the people they assist. They are always for ways to make things better, and ways to provie more support. The Avalon Healing Center is truly that - a healing center!”
“I see lots of low reviews on here but honestly I feel this is one of the best thrift spots in Detroit. People who complain about the closing time announcements should come earlier. These folks work hard all day long. If you’re complaining about prices, it’s definitely more affordable than any goodwill. If you don’t like the management or the prices then shop somewhere else. More for the people who appreciate this location.”
“After a slow start to respond to an auction that mistakenly had a child's 14 listed as an adult women's 14, I was able to speak with a manager and get the resolution I wanted. Hooray!”
“This is my 1st. Year as a Pack Leader. I was formally a Girl Scout Leader for 6 years. So transferring over to Boy Scouts I realized is to complete separate entities. Nothing is similar. They do things completely different... So when I first came here it was sort of intimidating but my nerves were set, by a lady named Regina. She was not only helpful in explaining to me some useful tips on our pack. But she also pointed me in the direction and what to do with some of our Scouts who were low-income and needed uniforms. I also want to mention how helpful Kevin from this district is and I believe Bob is someone else I spoke with who is also very helpful. The drive is worth it. Literally your one-stop-shop. I chose to go to the Detroit District instead of Troy. You wouldn't know and by the looks of it outside but this place literally has everything you need. At The Boy Scout shop you will find every single thing you need from uniforms to trophies to badges and patches here. If you are scout leader need guidance or need supplies for your pack or advice I recommend coming here.”
“Best organization for black owned businesses. Charity and the team really want your business to succeed. They all work diligently to support you anyway they can. The alliance is like a big family cheering you on every step of the way.”
“Eastern market have everything from fish market to meat market to ribs to corned beef they have everything you need also up the street they have vegetables fruits all kinds of stuff so go out there and check it out”
