It's run by the same folks that run the Candied Yam, and they are super kind and friendly. We got some chicken jerky biscuits and a topper bowl for Parker, and he thought they were delicious! The topper bowls were incredible affordable too, so we'll definitely be coming back with Parker to get him a tasty bite to eat.

What this place deserves 5 stars for is the Pet Wash & Vet/Nail/Leash Training, etc clinics.We have 3 dogs, so the doggy spa bill @ $60+/dog is a little steep. They do 2 for 1 on Weds, get all three washed for 1/10th of the spa cost, and the best part is, NO MESS AT HOME!!We adopted a cat last year and needed her checked by a vet within a certain time frame. Everywhere close was 2+ weeks out for a new pet visit unless we brought her into emergency (more $$$). Called Chow Hound, found out another location had a walk-in clinic that day. We were able to get her a clean bill of health and safely bring her into our home.Support this business!

I did have to do a return and tried to complete that online, but the refund never went thru so I’ll have to drive up to the store to get that figured out (but that’s a corporate issue and not the alpine store itself). I really like the online deals.

They have always been compassionate and supportive, especially when we have had serious issues happening. At my last visit we weren’t sure what was going on, they answered all of my questions, listened patiently and explained everything in a way I was able to understand.
We appreciate that they don’t try to sell us on meds/services our pets don’t need. It helps to hear them give advice on what they would do if the pet was their own. We also love the app that is available to communicate with the office. It makes getting questions answered quick and easy.
The docs & staff at GRVC have been absolutely amazing and we are so thankful we have them to help care for our pets.

4011 Remembrance Rd NW, Grand RapidsDr Kelley and their staff is absolutely amazing with animals they are kind, caring, empathetic and they really work with you financially. Just when I thought I was going to have to put my cat Rio down because Animal Pet Emergency & Specialty Hospital diagnosed Rio with a UTI and a blockage was kept there for 3 days. I had a feeling Rio was being released too early because when removing the catheter Rio had only urinated one time after the catheter was removed and normally they want the pet to urinate several times before being discharged. I had to rush him back again after paying over $4,000. This time after leaving him there paying $2,000 and then calling and telling me he would need another surgery but before the animal pet emergency would do the surgery I had to come up with another four or $5000. It was 11:00pm and I couldn't get the money together that night so the animal emergency stopped his IV treatment therapy and told me Rio only had 24 hours to live if he did not have the surgery. I was so emotionally distressed and devastated and had come to the conclusion I would have to have Rio euthanized but I found Kelley's Animal Clinic and took him there and they immediately cared for him and did the surgery for only $1700. They also put me in contact with Heaven Can Wait who helped pay some of that money because they know how much I had already paid and even microchipped him for me. Jan the hospital administrator came out and talked to me and really helped me out with everything and it was so sweet it made me feel so relieved I knew Rio was in the best hands. I even had to take him back the next day cuz he had bleeding which was normal but they observed Rio all day and didn't charge. They are so wonderful. Dr. Kelley and staff really saved his life when the animal emergency was just going to basically let him die because I couldn't come up with a bunch of money in such little time. Hi 100% recommend Dr Kelley and their staff. Dr Kelley's Animal Clinic is truly about the caring for the animal and not about putting money in their pockets and they will do everything in their power to help you out.

Cat Clinic North
2665 5 Mile Rd NE, Grand RapidsWe boarded our two cats here for nine days. They were at the cat cottages, and I requested the jungle room, which was the largest of the rooms. They were well taken care of by the staff, who came in to feed, and have a little playtime with them daily.
They sent me updates with pictures every day, so I could see them and know any concerns, if there were any.
I would happily board them there again!

When we learned that our giant breed Great Dane, English Mastiff was reactive, I was devastated and lost. My vet referred us to APD. We were met with sincere kindness, compassion, and an abundance of knowledge and expertise! We immediately started a plan for success and have learned how to help our literal giant baby live her happiest, healthiest and safest life! Jenn and her team have excellent specialty relationships with other care providers and we were also able to identify pain and anxiety in our boxer pitty babe - leading to a sustainable and long term care plan. I only wish that I had met the APD Team sooner, and had started with them when my girls were puppies. But the wait was worth it. You will not regret that you came. We had sweet potato, gnocchi, chicken king, walleye and ice-cream. I believe the bread was made there and the butter was from France. It was the best walleye I ever had. It tasted like cod. It is a hidden gem. Will go back with the reservation!! Oh the wine and cocktails were also great! Thank you.

Second Chance Cats of West Michigan

The volunteers instantly felt like my family in their love for cats, and I ended up adopting a wonderful adult, female kitty from them. She's a beloved addition to the family. I highly recommend stopping in on the weekends to at least visit with some of these kitties!

I understand they want to make sure it's a good placement and that I fully understand what I'm getting myself into, but when I said I would take him, the counselor kind of threw up her hands and said "ok! But it's going to be months before you can pet him or do anything with him!" I adopted him anyway and 2 weeks later, he is adjusting nicely...goes for walks, is home trained, sleeps in his kennel...and let's me pet him and give him kisses.
