“Naz the pharmacist always stays after to make sure that his people get their medicine. They will call and check up and tell you when your medication is available to pick up. They will also send text messages notifying you when you can pick up your medication. They are super understanding and they are AMAZING at customer service. They always have a smile on their face!
They are one of the beating hearts in our much needed neighborhood. They care about us and it shows and they always show up. Much love to our pharmacy never felt better or appreciated more by them.”

“Stopped at ALDI specifically to pick up lentils and was genuinely pleased with the overall variety available. While they didn’t have red lentils in stock this time, there were several other types of lentils along with a solid selection of beans and other pantry staples. It was easy to find alternatives, which made the trip worthwhile.
The store is clean, bright, and very well organized. The aisles are simple to navigate, and everything feels straightforward without being overwhelming. I also appreciate how affordable the prices are — it’s one of those places where you can shop mindfully and stay within budget.
The produce section looked fresh, and the middle aisle always has interesting seasonal or household finds, which makes each visit a little different. Checkout was quick and efficient, and the overall experience felt smooth and convenient.
Even though they didn’t have exactly what I came for, I still left satisfied and with everything else I needed. A dependable stop for everyday essentials at great prices.”

“I read about Detroit People’s Food Co-op and once I heard they were an African American led community owned grocery outlet I knew I had to pay a visit and support this business. The store very modern and beautiful, there were the most beautiful murals on the walls, and the staff/customers seemed very pleasant. All of the produce looked fresh, There were a variety of dairy products as well as dairy alternatives I’ve never heard of. I got some kefir drink, mushrooms, broccoli, and cream cheese. I plan on using these ingredients for some dishes that I like to make for the unhoused and poor. Thank you guys for your service and I pray you receive Allah SWT’s blessings in abundance.”

“Best liquor store pizza in the area. I just got 2 slices for $3, and now I’m pissed that I’ve lived here for 6 months and I’m just now finding out about this pizza in this place. I don’t drink, so you know, I didn’t have the need to go here. But then, I saw Simeon walking out with the triangle shaped piece of foil wrap, and I slammed on my breaks and went in. Thank god. This is my new spot. It’s a block a way from a “famously beloved” pizza place, and the pizza here is better than there, hands down. I’m already fighting the urge to go back to get more, even though my fingers are still greasy from this trip. High 5s all around. And the guys behind the counter seemed pleasant. I was greeted as soon as I walked through the door. That’s rare nowadays. This is my new spot.”

“Finally had the chance to try Bakalikon and wow! We will most definitely be back. We knew we were coming back just based off of the AMAZING service and appetizers. This was all before we even got our main entrees. We ordered the Greek salad (delicious and so fresh), spanakopita (who knew spinach could taste like that), chicken lemonata, and the lamb shank. We ended it with baklava. Everything was delicious and we had SO many leftovers. We also got a Sauvignon Blanc based on waiter rec. Highly recommend!”

May Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala bless this store and its owner with prosperity and abundance. They have many fresh options in fruits, snacks, and beverages. They make milkshakes from scratch. I got some banana chips, peanut clusters, and an Arizona green tea. I can’t wait to come back, I plan on sharing these snacks with the poor first chance I get. Ameen!”
