1324 Hartrick Ave, Royal OakIve known this store for decades. It was once a school field trip for me in the late 1980s. My mom had a bird and always taken it there and shopped there in the 1990s. I had fish for 20+ years. I always get my pet fish from there. Their fish are nice and healthy. I was there today to get an Angelfish and a plecko they were very helpful. They had alot of variety of birds there including the large colorful macaw that is always so sweet. Right now they're under renovation construction, so theres not a whole lot there currently. Im sure once finished it will be awesome. Thank you

Doggy Do Good
220 South Main Street, Royal OakI have bought these bags multiple times now. I was primarily looking for a bag with less environmental impact and this fit. I've bought both the individual rolls and the lg roll of two hundred bags. The bags are easy to tear off the roll and easy to open for use. However, the last purchase I made the bags were tearing down the side about 30-40% of the time. I filled out the form online providing my order # (easy to find) and asking if they would consider replacing the box. The response was SAME DAY! And they went way above and beyond. There was a manufacturing issue which has been corrected and product effected removed. A new box is on the way for me AND a refund, totally more than I asked for. I liked the bags before, I will be a loyal customer going forward!! Thank you so much to Kai and the kind email exchanges. I am super happy I found a great company to support and feel better about my environmental impact. Thank you!!

I don’t ever buy anything, I just like asking lots of questions and getting free samples. I always bring my longest leash and sometimes careless people will let it get tangled around their legs. I wish they were more careful. I sometimes wonder if they do it on purpose just to strike up conversation. He is a handsome pup and a credit to his breed. Today he was trying to make friends with people who were sitting down and eating. When they rudely shooed him away he had a little accident right in front of them. Selfish patrons that refuse to share their food with a hungry dog have no business out in public. This place was kind enough to give me some napkins to clean it up. The napkins weren’t enough and I ended up just smearing it around. Then they said they would mop it up themselves. I was surprised they didn’t just clean it themselves in the first place. Glad they came to their senses and cleaned their floor. I’m sure it’s some sort of health violation to have dog waste on the floor right where people are eating. They were nice so their secret is safe with me. Their food looked delicious but I didn’t eat any.

Motor City Gas Whiskey Distillery
325 E 4th St, Royal OakMotor City Distillery is an interesting craft distillery with a great small whiskey bar. The layout is unique and gives the space a lot of character. One of the highlights is the creative seasonal cocktail menu, which really sets it apart from larger distilleries. The bartenders are usually excellent—friendly, knowledgeable, and happy to make recommendations.
The whiskey selection is impressive, with plenty of options for tasting and exploring different styles. My only criticism is that many of the cocktails tend to feature the same three or four house whiskeys and vodkas, so there could be a little more variety in the featured spirits.
Overall, it's a fantastic stop for anyone who enjoys craft spirits, creative cocktails, and a welcoming atmosphere. It's well worth a visit.
