“I've been going here since I moved to this side of town in 2020. The renovation has made the place even better with more options. It's a great option for something to eat on the way home and the food guys are generous. There are a number of liquor stores on this side of town this is something more.”
“Gordon Food Service has some truly amazing employees! They went out of their way to help me find everything I needed, and even loaded hundreds of dollars’ worth of groceries into my truck — I didn’t have to lift a finger at the checkout. Their customer service is top-notch, and it really made my shopping experience feel effortless. My only small wish is that the fresh meat section was stocked a bit more consistently. Other than that, everything was awesome — great people and great service! ?”
“Love this store when I’m looking for specialty items - I wanted to make a classic larb gai (Thai meat salad) and needed toasted rice powder for flavor and texture. Went in for 1 item and bought five bags worth of grocery AND a 1/2 lb of the most delicious roast pork. So many unique snacks, prepared food and different cuts of meat that you get only at a real butcher.”

“A small but worthy produce section yams, coconuts, plantains and items that aren't easy to find. Smoked fish, goat meat, chicken feet, frozen fish..for more adventurous cooks. I'm addicted to the tea/coffee biscuits ( come in a box, forgot the name sorry) Everyone is friendly, accept EBT and the prices are reasonable.”
“In my 7 years in the trucking industry as a dispatcher, I have never experienced anything like this.
My driver was loaded with freight on a broken pallet, the freight was not wrapped properly, and there were so many mistakes made by the shipper.
The guys working there did the restack, unloaded everything themselves, and repacked it. Anyone and I mean anyone would have refused the freight, and we would have had to find a restack company or return the load back to the shipper.
They handled everything themselves, helped the driver, and showed real understanding.
I give you 10 stars. You are great people, and you made my day with your selflessness. May God bless you and your cheifs and owner of this place.”
“I has an awesome shopping experience at the 21887 location in Southfield MI. The cashier Lisa is a perfect example of good customer service. She was very helpful, efficient and friendly. She is the reason I will shop there again.”
“The staff are very nice here! The aisles are clean and organized. A bit more pricey for a lot of the items compared to Walmart or Meijer, but it’s really good if you need to get some quick shopping done. Usually you will find items on sale for a good price though, 100% worth it!”

“Store was decent. Quite small but they work with the size that they have. However, over half the store is just sweets and deserts. Would like to see a healthier selection of foods from the region. Also to add to other people's comments about the staff being rude... It is a cultural thing and they mean nothing by not saying anything to you. I will try again in a month to see if selections have changed.”
“I do NOT like the reviews that I am reading, but I never had a bad experience shopping there several times in 2020. I am vegan so it was mainly for water and canned items. It is no Whole Foods, Kroger, or Target-but I am done with Target and trying to boycott Whole Foods/Amazon. I can agree that the cashiers did want you to move fast, but I was always apologetic if I was slow for whatever reason and they were cool-but I was also very apologetic ??♀️”
“Been shopping here for almost 20 years, would never shop for groceries anywhere else. Store fully stocked all the time, quality food and other products, good service throughout. Cashiers usually very limited so you have to strategize your visits. Delivery orders are ok. Parkin

“Kudos to the manager, Corey Canty and Susan in HBA for making sure I had what I needed and answered my questions thoroughly.
BTW: Bring back your copy/print services at the customer service desk!! I had to go to another chain only for the store hours since it is a Sunday.
I would have much rather saved a few bucks and printed it off at the store while I was getting my paper towels and such!

“Fun to explore. I got a few snacks. The noodles were expired ( didnt realize until I got home) staff was very nice , im sure they would have taken them back but its ok. The hello kitty cartoon / key chains & etc were a little pricey! Lots of drinks to choose from! Will definitely return.”
