Troy & Heights Animal Hospital
1985 E Wattles Rd, TroyTroy and Heights have been my trusted veterinarian for some time now. I recently had an opportunity to meet Dr. Williams. She is, simply stated, just wonderful. Her skill level is obviously pretty stellar. She was so good with my cat, took an ample amount of time to examine him, explain everything to me and address all of my concerns. It is rare to have an experience where you feel an innate trust with someone so quickly. The staff is always friendly, SO kind, so professional. They consistently go above and beyond each time I come in. They have, on more than one occasion, made time for my pet when I know they are incredibly busy. The facility is always consistently clean, they always provide me with the absolute best options for my pet, then we work from there. I cannot possibly recommend them more. They are a professional, compassionate veterinary hospital. If you are a pet parent, you know that placing your trust in anyone to care for them can be tough! But, If that is what you are looking for, I urge you to consider allowing them to care for your pet.

Troy Veterinary Hospital
3705 Rochester Rd, TroyMy fiance and I have been taking our dogs to Troy Veterinary Hospital for 4 years (2 years for our younger dog). Dr. Tate is amazing and so obviously cares a great deal for her patients. I trust her 100% to do the right thing for animals.
Lately we have been seeing Dr. Boensch, who is also absolutely a wonderful veterinarian! Recently we brought our slightly older dog in to have several teeth extracted. We were both extremely nervous to have him put under anesthesia. As many pet owners understand, we love our dogs just as though they are human family members and would be crushed if anything were to happen to them. Dr. Boensch and the wonderful vet tech (I believe her name is Rebecca, I am truly sorry if I have that wrong!) took wonderful care of our dog. Our dog is normally very anxious around strangers but he even ended up bonding with the vet tech. It is 3 days post-surgery and our dog is doing very well. They were very good to us owners as well, taking the time (that they probably really didn't have!) to answer our million questions and being very understanding when we acted like overbearing crazy dog owners.
Updated review 7 years later:
I have trusted this veterinary team with my animals for over a decade, and my trust in them has only grown since day one.
Dr. Tate has provided years of compassionate care to my two pups and handled the passing of my soul dog with extraordinary kindness. When he passed at home, the entire staff sent a handwritten card with personal notes, and she even made a donation to an animal welfare charity in his name!
Most recently, my kitten underwent a surgery that resulted in an unexpected complication. What could have been devastating instead became the clearest example of why I trust this team so deeply. Dr. Tate immediately took responsibility, explained exactly what had happened, and laid out a clear, supportive plan for recovery without deflection, minimization, or excuses. (And to be very clear: it truly was a freak complication, and my kitten has since fully healed and is doing great!)
She has continuously earned, and re-earned, the trust of me and my husband.
I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my family.

Long Lake Animal Hospital & Lakeside Pet Resort
5044 John R Rd, TroyI had to take my labrador to this vet office for a same day appointment because my usual vet was full. My pet’s situation morphed into an emergency. Due to snowy weather, a slew of cancellations, and the surgeon being on site that day, my pet was able to recieve definitive care right away, because the Long Lake staff didn't hesitate to offer help to her. I saw two vets, one very pleasant female vet (I forgot her name) and the following day (we had to return for a repeat X-ray for the diagnosis), Dr Williams operated on my dog. All the staff, were friendly and clear about treatment plans and options, what to expect with each, and pricing and possible outcomes. The ancillary staff, especially Dr. Williams’ surgical tech, and the front desk staff, were stellar communicators. I am so grateful for the Long Lake staff and their life saving care to my dog! Lastly I would note that, this office was under different management in the past, and I had received care for a previous pet a few years ago. The new staff and vets are 5 stars. Thanks again Long Lake Animal Hospital!

Banfield Pet Hospital
307 E Big Beaver Rd, TroyEveryone is so wonderful at this Banfield location in Troy. They are very accommodating to my reactive dog. The office is clean. The staff is hard-working, caring, and knowledgeable. The plan that they offer for preventative care is way cheaper than if I was to pay for single visits. I’ve been taking my Eevee there for three years and I will never take her anywhere else.

Pet Sitting & Training

From The Heart Dog Training
360 E Maple Rd, TroyWe are beyond thrilled with the progress our sweet, smart, nervous and fearful dog has made with the help and guidance from Victoria and her team! Her approach is calm, compassionate, thoughtful and clear. Everything is done with intention, from the structured daycare with enrichment and confidence-building opportunities, to pack walks, to purposeful downtime, along with pictures and videos of what our dog has been working on throughout the day.
Our training sessions with Victoria have been incredibly helpful. She is able to communicate and educate us in a way that helps us better understand our dog. There is time set aside to debrief after sessions, a detailed summary provided, recapping all that was practiced and how we can practice at home, as well as narrated videos that we can keep and look back at when needed. We leave feeling empowered and excited about helping our dog!
Victoria is clearly doing what she is meant to do! I cannot recommend her services highly enough!

Go Thyme
2795 E Maple Rd, TroyTried a few items from Go Thyme and everything was outstanding! The Grab & Glow Mini Bowl was fresh, light, and packed with flavor — perfect for a healthy grab-and-go option. The Premium Street Tacos were absolutely delicious, with bold seasoning and great texture in every bite.
The highlight for me was the Signature Go Thyme Falafel Bowl — the falafel was crispy on the outside, soft inside, and tasted incredibly fresh. All the ingredients tasted high-quality and well balanced, and the meal felt satisfying without being heavy.
You can really tell they care about freshness, flavor, and quality. Highly recommend if you’re looking for healthy, flavorful street food done right!

Noni's Grille of Troy
3364 Rochester Rd, TroyMy Family and I have been going to Noni’s since they opened. First of all the place is always very clean. Which for me is extremely important. Never once had a bad wait staff. They are always on top of making sure you have everything you need and are happy with your food. All of the soups are homemade and the bowls are huge ! Most everything I know is homemade. Very large portions. The corn beef or Rueben is one of our favorites. Very good quality of corn beef and thinly sliced. Generous amount of meat on the sandwhich. I just found out recently that there shredded Hashbrowns are homemade. My family also love the chicken parmigiana. Huge nachos. Rosie is always on top of the staff and checking to make sure their customers are happy with their meal and experience at Noni’s. She goes above and beyond what she does ! She is well spoken and very professional we are very lucky to have a establishment as such in Troy.

Tomo Sushi & Karaoke
2959 E Big Beaver Rd, TroyWe just moved to the area and have been on the search for a good Korean spot near Rochester, especially for jjamppong, the Korean Chinese spicy noodle soup. Tomo has been one of the better versions we’ve had so far, flavorful, balanced, and comforting without being overdone.
We haven’t tried their Japanese menu yet, but we’ve been back multiple times for the Korean food. One thing that really stands out is the banchan. Great variety, well prepared, and it changes each visit. The fresh kimchi was excellent, and on another visit they served bibimbap as part of the spread, which was a pleasant surprise.
They also offer Korean hot dogs and some trendy street food items, which adds a fun, casual feel to the menu without losing authenticity.
If you’re missing Korean food or looking for a reliable Korean spot near Rochester, this is a good place to start. Consistent, thoughtful, and clearly cooked with care.

Daisy Knight Dog Park
3410 Livernois Rd, TroyThis is one of the best dog parks in Southeast Michigan. It offers two separate ares. One is designated for dogs under 25 pounds, has a shelter, and most importantly, includes built-in agility equipment. The other section is welcoming to all dogs, no matter the size, and is spacious and has shelter. It can get rather waterlogged during heavy rains, but other than that the grounds are well kept. Every dog and human I have met there has been a delight.
