“We rented unit 1 so we could bring our dog. Very clean, comfortable room, has everything you need for a short stay. The only reason I rated it a 4 out of 5 was due to the noise. We could hear people talk outside and come and go in other rooms; if you are looking for pure quiet might not be the best unit to rent.”

“Very nice location and front desk service.
The rooms are clean. And the beds are very comfortable. The breakfast is ok, not too impressive. The exercise room is great. But the swimming pool is tiny.”
“I flew into town for one day/night and rented one of their suites. Very spacious. View of river. Breakfast was a bit better over other ACs I’ve stayed at.
Checkin was a bit rough; the person at the desk stepped away for about 30 mins and I had to wait for them and no one else could check me in. Plus they were a little grumpy which was just weird. Maybe something was going on and was a one time thing? Everyone else I interacted with was great.”
“My wife and I took three days and two nights to visit Portsmouth, New Hampshire last week. We chose the Holiday Inn because of their very reasonable price. It was an outstanding stay. The room was incredibly clean, with housekeeping arriving each day. The front desk employees were all cheerful and helpful. A special shout out to “Joe”, who services the Port City Pub; he was friendly, hardworking and accommodating.
Thank you to all the staff, from general manager to maintenance.”

“This is clearly an much older property that could use a significant refresh. With that said, it is very clean and the staff are friendly and polite. Breakfast was also solid, with many of the same things you would expect from a Hampton Inn. Overall, it was a solid value for <$100.”

“The only negative experience was the fact when we booked three plus months ago we asked for the rooms to at least be on the same floor, nope two people on the second, two on the third floor and me and my bf on the fourth floor, and when we first arrived a little past 3 when check in was, they said our rooms will be ready at 3:30 then when we went up to the counter after 3:30 they said 10 more minutes, checked the Id of the persons who’s name the room was under and it still wasn’t ready and by 3:50 we had to leave to make it to a rehearsal dinner so when we got back around 6 the same front desk person said “oh I left a note saying late check-in so you guys would still have a room” I said “what do you mean we had a late check-in we came to the desk twice way after check in started, you checked our ID and it was already a booked room for two days so why would it and how would it be taken? Also we booked multiple rooms under the same name so they knew it was some sort of family thing.”

“For the price we paid, it was a great spot. It definitely has some age to the building, but the whole hotel and our room were spotless, and well stocked with amenities. Staff were friendly and available at all hours.
Very centrally located to several local attractions and downtown Portsmouth. The proximity to a local favorite diner was a big win, didn't even have to exit the building! We thoroughly enjoyed the pool as well.
There was a mixup on my end, and I booked more days than I intended to, and the management was very understanding and easy to work with.”
“Counter agent was very helpful when I called direct to book the room, and when we checked in. Room was immaculate, with comfortable pillows and adequate mattress. Easy ride to downtown Portsmouth.”

“I had to switch rooms a couple of times. First room smelled like a smoke lounge
Second room was pure bleach smell. Then one other room because I didn't renew in time so my room went to a different person. But through all of this they were always willing to accommodate me and help me in any way they could. I was a little iffy about the location and other hotel goers but that quickly changed an it was a nice little community. I would stay there again anytime. Staff were always professional and pleasant 99.99% of the time. Hotel always looked clean and appealing. The housekeeping staff did an amazing job. So if anyone reading this and don't know if they would want to stay at a Motel 6, you won't be sorry at this location”

“Stayed here for a last-minute getaway with friends. The location was perfect and walkable to restaurants and shopping downtown. Rooms are nicely appointed and super clean. The coffee station in the morning was a nice bonus. If you prefer the vibe of a small inn vs. a traditional hotel, you will not be disappointed!”
