“Nice little bodega, well pretty big for corner store. Very friendly workers, decent prices, good food, nice selection. They even bring in homemade food. Soups, stews, rice & beans etc.”
“Always come here because i live around the corner.. but the name is so misleading!!! Calling it a discount food market is like calling an elephant tiny!!! ??!!! $$$$$”

“Yesterday was my first time in this African store and i was not disappointed. Ifeoma the shop owner is such a sweetheart. Friendly, attentive to my needs and her prices are so affordable compared to the other African stores i have been too. Her box of yams at $70 is unbelievable and the yams are huge and clean. If any is bad, she changes on the spot. I was not disappointed at all.”
“Ordered a cheesesteak. It was really good. The cook asked me how I wanted it but I told him just to make it however he makes it. He confirmed I was okay with all the toppings then proceeded to make it. That thing was so good and it was reasonably priced. It was on a long roll and while it wasn't jam packed with meat like in Philly there was a decent ratio of ingredients. My bread tasted fresh. I have a sensitive stomach so I try to stay away from corner store food but the sandwhich did not cause me any issues. The kitchen and store were really clean. The guys in the front (register) and back (cook) were courteous. I didnt have to ask for napkins, they gave them willingly when I paid.”
“Their Ogbono and other commodities are superb. I always go to them to buy some stuff and I deliberately did not bring Ogbono from Nigeria this year, because I know they have superb Ogbono and Egusi.
I was there in July to buy Ogbono as usual but was shocked when I got there last week and the store was closed. Anyone know what happened? I called the number but it was not in service.”
“I remember coming here all the time when I was young with my grandmother brings back memories because the food was always fresh stuff was always in stock and I could swore the Asian man spoke creole with my grandmother who speaks no English I love that 19 years later this store still in business and I would support everyday if I still lived here all ways nice to the paying customer”

“10/10 Since the first time I walked in , everything was amazing. They have great sandwiches at decent prices. The store smells and looks clean. Plus the Employees are hilarious. Trust me this store has everything you are looking for!”
“This store is fair in prices. The store number is not valid or they just don’t answer their darn phone. Pay attention to the dust on your wine bottles lol and always check for dates ? I just bought a Lava and it was busted. I tried to call them like 5 times with no answer, so SAD. I bought these 4 items for $21. Anywhere else out here woulda been at least $30-$40. This still wouldn’t stop me from going but guys, let’s get it together. It’s 2025!!! Stay blessed.”
“This is a very expensive supermarket. I only purchased my Caribbean groceries here. All the other items are very over priced. It's clean though and majority of the staff are very friendly. Their fruits and vegetables are fresh.”

“Sometimes they are low on supplies that's the covid effect & i have seen more empty shelves in Suburban strip malls like in West Orange (Dollar Tree) than they ever had here in Irvington & i never experienced a long wait in line at this store”

“This is one of my favorite mini market the cashier always great you with a smile and if there's a item that's on stock they assured by next delivery it will be back on shelves and it is also very clean”
“Im gonna be 100% blunt and honest the ONLY reason I am giving 4 stars is because I absolutely adore the assistant manager here. She is such a breath of fresh air, sees people without judgment, and is Genuinely a beautiful human being!! However that can not be said for another member of management. Lets take into consideration that I spend over 100 dollars WEEKLY at this location and yet a certain member of management flat out accused me of theft behind my back then continued to act like they were this nice person to my face. I dont appreciate the accusations and if this manager wants to assume shit then they can feel free to check my damn bags! Maybe if they spent less time making accusations toward innocent people they could actually find the real thiefs since the theft rate at this location is so damn high already. I will definitely be spending less money at this location going forward and I will only be stopping by if I know for certain that my favorite person is working, otherwise I'm just going to feel uncomfortable ???
Corporate seriously needs to reconsider who they have on their management team before they lose some genuinely good customers who want to spend their money with the company however I know personally speaking being viewed as something I am not based on my looks or the amount of time I spend in the store or based on me having my personal belongings with me makes me want to never give my hard earned money to this location ?”

“I understand what other reviews are stated about the aisles being to packed, there’s almost always boxes or crates everywhere making it hard to reach things or find what you need in an already small space. Otherwise the are usually never out of anything which is great”

“I remember when this was brand new. It’s not anymore but still has lots of great choices especially for produce and meat. Heavy focus on Caribbean, Latin and African cuisine. Of course most of that overlaps with Black American cuisine also so you’ll find classics like Carolina Beef sausage and beef bacon with turkey gizzards, pork shoulder, Little Debbie raisin cream pies and even your favorite bean, greens or lard all year long. I’ve found the bread section next to the deli isn’t always fresh maybe because they don’t sell it that fast. I avoid it.
Amazing cake section if you’re looking to bake. Quite amazing selection of All sorts of seasonings in multiple aisles. Fresh loose leaf teas from 🍊 Soursop to moringa. Fresh fruit juices from all types of tropical fruit. 🥭
🍤 Large fresh seafood butchers 🐠 in the back with exotic catches BUT get your 🦞 seafood last as they will not double bag it with ICE to keep it fresh as you shop. I thought all fish markets did this practice. They don’t.
Not many toiletries 🧴 here.
👮♀ Security is everywhere and BAGS must be left at front.
💵 Cashiers are largely not American and English isn’t their strength and they are not friendly. The lines can be long. People there are largely not American and can also be rude but brace yourself and get in and get out.
Don’t expect customer service at all. The butchers are friendly always I find.”
“Rated BEST in the town of service. Including thoughtfull and large collection of Items. Plus a powerfull loyalty for how late the San Miguel's Grocery stays open.”
