“It’s such a delight to have a friendly and helpful old-time downtown hardware store here in Ramsey. If you haven’t yet visited, may I strongly encourage you to do so. Mark, Pete and the crew are so approachable, down to earth and knowledgeable. There are no “**** questions”, it’s a “safe space” in that they are patient and have a kind twinkle in their eyes to help advise or find that tool or product that you forgot the name of, and can only describe. Recently, I’ve brought some old table lamps in for rewiring to modern safety standards (!), and the work was wonderful. Did I mention they also fix stuff ? After your first visit, you’ll be family, and finding reasons to stop by. I love picking up that item on my shopping list, and then wandering the aisles for my entertainment, always finding additional things that “I didn’t realize I needed” !”

“Truthfully, the only business left in Hillsdale where you can actually buy something of value and usage Ask and you shall receive with all the necessary instructions as to its purpose and how to implement it best. If it is out of stock, it will be ordered and you will receive it promptly. “If you are looking for personable service you will find it at Sugarhill Hardware. No way could I have called or walked into a major retailer like Home Depot or Lowes and received the support ( that's beyond service) that I received from this family-owned business. I called, they listened and dispatched a well qualified family member to my home ASAP to correct a plumbing issue. I have never seen anything like it. Professional & serious about my plumbing issue in less than an hour my old faucet was removed and a new one installed. The price was soooo right!!! Thank you Marco (Dad) & sons Jeremy, & Marvin. “Had water leaking out of the relief valve on my water tank last week. Watched a YouTube video, then Google mapped the highest rated plumbing supply store in my area. These guys came up, and they absolutely deserve the highest rating. Ben answered all the questions I had that weren't well explained in the video, then made sure I left with all the proper supplies necessary to finish the job along with some pro tips to ensure I only had to reassemble the relief valve once. Can't endorse this store enough. Thank you, Ben!tldr - They successfully helped guide me in replacing the relief valve on my water tank, and I have never worked on a water tank before.”

“Dumont Hardware is always my first stop. Bill is knowledgeable, helpful, and usually has what you need in stock, including some stuff you cannot find elsewhere. The prices are reasonable. As an example, I needed large washers to use as shims on a motor shaft. True Value wanted $2.79 each! Bill had them at the correct price, 12 cents each. His advice is not always needed, but I listen anyway and usually learn something I did now know before. Also his advice is priceless when you do need it. Make Dumont Hardware your first stop. You may not need to make a second stop.”

I needed to build a bigger deck with a combination of wood and TimberTech railings. Joe was patient and expertly helped us buy the right amount of wood and railings for the project based on our drawings. The deliveries were made as promised and were on time.
