“I have never met a more dedicated group than these folks. They work hard and deal with some really tough issues. They care deeply about the feral cat population in Albuquerque. They will help you if you need it, and they have worked with me to fix 6 feral cats in my area. I am so very grateful for their help and their awesome volunteers.”

“Great place, always has something cool to see or experience. Parking is hit and miss and downtown is downtown. There is almost always an unhinged Christian preaching about the fires of hell on the corner. I would suggest visiting in the daylight and I’m not joking.”

“I absolutely love this church! The pastor and his wife go out of their way to help others.I was committed to a previous church for many years, having to move it was to far to continue going to my previous church. I felt extremely disappointed and discouraged trying to find another church; until my Husband and I found Calvary Chapel South West. Pastor Montoya teaches the truth and the foundation of Jesus christ. Our family is truly blessed to have found Calvary Chapel SouthWest.I highly recommend Calvary Chapel SouthWest!?❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤”

“A must see, bucket list experience! Thanks to my friends who live in NM, I was fortunate to experience the 51st International Hot Air Balloon Festival twice during my visit in early October. We woke up at 3a on both days for the short drive to the fiesta grounds, although with all the other cars on the road it was more like a couple of hours waiting in traffic and waiting to park. Still, the excitement in the air was palpable, and worth the lack of sleep to experience "dawn patrol" when the first handful of hot air balloons go up in the dark morning skies. It's also good to go early so you can check out the fiesta merch tent, grab a cup of coffee and a donut before the long lines, and hit the porta potties. After the first time in one, decided to get in the longer line for the flush portables! As the skies lightened, more balloons floated up into the skies creating a colorful skyscape. Cheers accompanied lift off as the crowds shouted their appreciation. The fiesta grounds are huge, so we easily walked 10,000 steps just going from one end to the other but stayed on the grassy lawn rather than by the vendor booths which sold fiesta food (burritos, churros, funnel cakes, fries, etc) and more merchandise. It was all very chaotic, but the mood was generally happy! On the eclipse day, we had on our special glasses to watch the event which was almost surreal. The temps dropped and the skies took on an almost washed out color. It wasn't completely dark because the moon had a ring of fire from the sun peeking behind it. Next year's event is scheduled Oct. 5-13 and is themed "Embrace the Sky" ... highly recommend!”

“Learning about Fr. Graham's fate was such a sad shock. We met many years ago when we were both younger but it still feels like yesterday. I remember him being so easy to talk to, and when I see the number of lives this fine man touched, I am humbled in realizing that he had this gift with every single person he interacted with. May God continue to bless all of you in his absence.”

“This place is amazing if you’re looking for an animal with no re home fee and the process isn’t hard or long! It’s only long if it’s packed but so far I have 3/4 cats from there and the people are incredibly friendly, except for this one woman… she LOOKS RUDE and is INCREDIBLY DISRESPECTFUL, I try to go when I know she isn’t working but other than that everyone is so sweet and once I went there I no longer other places for animals or some of their stuff, great place over all”

“Although the chocolate bars are smaller in width from when I sold them 40 years ago. The quality of the chocolate continues to stand up to it's name. They have added a bar with rice crispies and another with a waffle cookie. Our families favorites continue to be the caramel, almond and dark chocolate. See a youth selling, buy one. Well worth $1 while supporting community efforts.”

“I have no experience with the organization, but did stop by to photograph the impressive 2022 mural on their building by staffer Dorothy Whisler. It's fun that they carry forward the color scheme on an outside planter and the parking lot concrete wheel stops.”

“Fond Memories of My Childhood Experience at Heights Community CenterReflecting on my childhood, I fondly recall my unforgettable experiences at Heights Community Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico, several years ago. As a former participant in their programs, I can attest to the center's remarkable offerings for children and the lasting impact it had on my personal growth.During my time at Heights Community Center, I participated in their summer and after-school programs, and they left an indelible impression on me. The center's commitment to providing a nurturing and engaging environment was evident in every aspect of their programs. The summer program was an absolute delight. It offered a perfect blend of educational and recreational activities, allowing us to have fun while expanding our knowledge. From interactive science experiments to arts and crafts projects, there was always something new and exciting to explore. The program's supportive staff encouraged us to ask questions, be creative, and develop critical thinking skills. One of the highlights of my experience was the numerous field trips organized by the center. Exploring local museums, going on nature hikes, and engaging in outdoor adventures sparked my curiosity and broadened my horizons. These trips not only provided hands-on learning experiences but also created lasting memories and a sense of adventure among us kids. The after-school program at Heights Community Center was equally enriching. It provided a structured environment where we could complete homework assignments, receive academic support, and engage in various extracurricular activities. From sports teams to art clubs, we had the opportunity to develop our talents, collaborate with others, and build lifelong friendships. What I appreciated most about Heights Community Center was its dedicated and caring staff. They genuinely cared about our well-being and encouraged us to pursue our passions. Their guidance and mentorship played a significant role in shaping my character and fostering a love for learning and personal growth. Moreover, the center's emphasis on fostering a sense of community was inspiring. Through group projects, community service initiatives, and events, we learned the value of teamwork, compassion, and inclusivity. Heights Community Center became a second home, where I felt a strong sense of belonging and acceptance among my peers.Looking back, my experience at Heights Community Center was truly transformative. It provided a supportive and enriching environment where I not only had fun but also developed important life skills and cherished friendships. I am grateful for the lasting impact this community center had on my childhood. If you have children of your own or know someone who does, I highly recommend exploring the exceptional programs offered at Heights Community Center. They continue to create meaningful experiences and shape the lives of young individuals, just as they did for me years ago.Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5 stars)”

“This is a wonderful community center with a great library and art gallery. The gallery is often changing with different exhibits throughout the year. There is also a theater for plays/performances with a large audience area. I believe there is also a multipurpose room for classes and other community events. This is really a great asset for the community of Albuquerque!”
