“The gentleman that has been there for years is carrying this post office on his back!! He’s the nicest person I have ever encountered that works at a post office. Usually these people are rude and disgusting for no reason. I forgot his name but he is a light skinned black man. I ship packages at least 10 times a week and I specifically stand and wait for him. He should train these incoming employees so they can see how to treat people. Give him a raise immediately!”

“Went here to mail off two packages. The lady behind the counter was very nice and helpful in helping me decide on which envelope to mail my items in. Along with explaining to me the different shipping rates. Also the trip was quick, there was no line.”

“This was my 2nd time ever mailing anything out, so I was clueless on what package to get to place my item in, it's price, how to write the addresses and etc, yes literally only 2nd time I mailed anything out, it was pretty busy, and there was only one lady there name Helen fonseca, who I managed to peek at her name badge, I applaud her for one being very patient with me, knowing that most of the questions I asked were probably common sense but I was a bit worried because I was sending a package international and wanted to make sure everything I did was correct, and two even though the line was long she was very nice to every person, meanwhile most people in her shoes shall have a reason to be frustrated, a long line and she's all alone but was taking care of everyone in a swift manner, great customer service indeed. Yes I was that guy that asked a few questions and may have took some extra time and got someone annoyed on the line but she was so patient and helpful.”

“I was greeted by the staff person behind the counter Clerk#11 by my receipt(didn't asked his name). He patienly provided me with information about the pricing of packages and the best option. Thank you!. Great customer service. Place is small and you might miss it if not paying attention. Items for shipping (priority/flat rate boxes, labels etc ) are in stock out in the waiting area.”

“It’s convent to have a PO nearby and the people are friendly enough and efficient. Be forewarned that it is closed from 12:30-2:00 for lunch as of January 2021.”

2.6 Average28 Reviews

“One of the more reliable post offices to send packages from; smaller ones delay deliveries especially out of town. It also offers passport and PO Box services. Services are average; so is line wait time (takes longer when people do not have their paperwork pre-filled out) . Do your best to bring a penand or box tape (same for all information needed concerning your ? /other mailing ). Tape is costly... Moreover, the entrance is hidden on the left hand side of the building if you coming from the Concourse (just follow the flow of people once you reach the top steps; it is opposite of the "Build a better Community" sign).”

“Living in this community for 30 years and uses this post office, my experience with their customer service is always excellent, expremely professional, warm and friendly. We need more staff like them.”

2.6 Average14 Reviews

“I love the staff like family and 5 stars aren't enough. I wish people would realize how difficult the year has been for the workers and appreciate their dedication to our community. From October through December they deal with an incredible number of packages. In January they are extremely busy shipping Holiday returns but... in 2020, the pandemic hit and online orders skyrocketed causing them to work at a holiday pace ALL YEAR LONG! Some patrons complain when they show up and the doors are closed but that's only when they are short staffed and the only workers use the time for the lunch break they are entitled to. There's always a sign letting you know what time the doors will open again. If you show up, share a smile and a word of encouragement. They're wonderful people with friendly personalities.”

“After reading these reviews, I was hesitant to visit my local post office on Conner Street to ship a package but my experience was nothing but pleasant. Syeeda ( possibly spelled incorrectly) was a delight. There was no wait and she genuinely appeared happy to answer my questions and help when I did properly prepare the package for shipment. She quickly offered to help and I was in and out in 5 minutes flat!Great experience overall.Thank you”

“Went to apply for my passport. The person attending me was very understanding and patient. There was a bit of a wait but it’s understandable because there is only one window.”

“This is where I applied for my kids’ US passports. The man that handles passport services is very efficient… very good at his job. Excellent passport services. I highly recommend this post office if you want to apply for US passports. Prompt service….Kudos!I am talking about the Post Office at 5951 Riverdale avenue in the Bronx.”

“This was my 1st time visiting this location & was hesitant. When I entered the office, there were only 3 people in line. I needed to box and address my package. When done the line had grown to 11 people! I was very concerned & contemplated leaving, especially since there was only 1 clerk/ window open, but gave the line a try. And SO GLAD I DID! WHAT A SUPERCLERK 22!! SHe was professional, knowledgeable, pleasant, courteous & handled business keeping that line moving so noone was waiting forever. It was the best representation of USPS I've seen in a long time, other than my regular station at Columbus Avenue who are A+ #1 in my book. It was refreshing to have this excellent experience as a 1st timer & I'd utilize this station more because of it. KUDOS, a RAISE & 5 STARS to SUPERCLERK 22! and most of all THANK YOU for taking PRIDE in your job & the community you serve!I've been to many other USPS offices and it's like visiting a horrific prison. Talk about disgruntled postal workers. It's ridiculous for them to be so mean, unprofessional & take forever to do NOTHING and be so unhelpful.”

“Last year, my family and I realized our passports were expired just a few months before our planned flight to our home country. Despite how busy it was, one particular clerk was attentive, diligent, and accommodating. Gopal was brilliant. She worked efficiently while maintaining a friendly demeanor. Without her, we would not have been able to visit our family back home.”

“Its short staffed here. Long lines. This doesn't mean they arent unprofessional. They are great and very helpful. Just need more people working here due to the high volume of customers.”

2.1 Poor29 Reviews

“Despite the lack of workers which was exceptional due to the size of the place, the service is GREAT! The person at the counter was very helpful and patient with me, giving I have zero experience with sending packages.”

“One of the best post offices I've been to in the Bronx. The only other one that's as good is in Riverdale. I actually missed this place a couple times even though Google Maps says it's here. That's because of the construction going on in the shopping plaza so it is covering up the sign for the post office. Maybe that is why this post office is a good one to go to? Anyways, it's a smaller post office but most of the people go there are mailing items or buying money orders. Not picking up packages since picking up packages is what causes the horrible long lines at other post offices. I've dealt with 2 clerks there and they are both very efficient and polite.”

“Its been two years since I moved to this neighborhood and honestly my mail has always been on time. The staff is nice and informative. If a worker doesn't show up the mail will be delivered the next day. I also have informed delivery which is an amazing feature to have. Please be patient and communicate your needs with the office.Don't leave bad reviews if a mis hap happened one time. No one or no organization is perfect”

1.9 Poor10 Reviews

“I've witnessed firsthand how some customers can be quite demanding and unkind, but the staff remains composed and treats everyone with respect. Their patience and grace under pressure are truly commendable, making every visit to the post office a pleasant experience. Moreover, this tiny branch consistently maintains its efficiency. Even during peak hours, the lines move swiftly, and there is a well-organized system in place to ensure that everyone's needs are met promptly. It's evident that the staff is committed to providing top-notch service, no matter how busy the day gets.I am genuinely grateful for this post office and the essential role it plays in our community. Thanks to the dedication of its staff, I always leave with my mailing needs fulfilled and a sense of appreciation for their hard work.”

“I was there by 11am and left at 11:10. only a few people were there with two reps in the window. The Lady at the window (clerk 89 shown at the bottom of your receipt) , was pleasant so no complaints . My advice ...try to get there early.”

“Since they don't deliver my packages although they are down the street I really can't complain.I go in to get my money orders there on Fridays. There usually isn't a line and everything is pretty quick. It's the smallest post office I've ever seen.”

“Wow, I'm not sure if the previous reviewer has ever been to other post offices in New York City, but I've been to many, and trust me they all look the same. I've been going to this location a few times a month for about four years now, and the staff has always been helpful and courteous. I would much rather go here than to some of the larger post offices where you have to wait forever in line. Plus they play good music. You really couldn't ask for much more!”
