“The store has a nice vibe and good selection. They can do custom orders. Good boot fitters - my last pair had a hot spot that they drilled out - perfection. I especially enjoy the vintage gear and photos decorating the walls. I used some of that stuff back in the day! Like leather lace-up boots and cable bindings.”

“This old fashioned, traditional army-navy store is one of a dying breed that is difficult to find these days of low quality mega chain stores. And It is the real thing. From the organized stacks of clothing to the unemotional clerks who can find each item with their eyes closed. I knew what I wanted and was in and out in under 5 minutes. No frills, just good quality clothing and equipment.”

“Great for kayak and SUP rentals as Manhasset Bay is protected from larger waves and is a no wake zone. Great fishing for striped bass and bluefish.
The shop also has a great variety of fishing equipment and bait alongside clothing and boating gear.
Most importantly the owner, John, is extremely knowledgeable and experienced and always has great insights.”

“I meant to do this review from May 2024, i went to footlocker on Westchester Avenue 10472, the service was phenomenal, Janil Karar was such a great help, I went with one of my sons to get shoes, he went to the storeroom so many times until my son got the shoes he wanted, he never showed anyone frustration was just as polite and professional as ever, I don't get that kind of service anymore in stores, was refreshing to see that someone still have that great customer service!! “I go to Westchester Road Runners to simplify my life. I don’t have time to keep up w shoe tech and trends, but I need the right shoes. I always walk out with great sneakers that keep my plethora of exercise injuries stabilized. Today, I went in for swim goggles and all they had were some fancy Italian goggles. I was a little annoyed because they’re expensive, but I swear with them, I’m ready to buy two, Huge improvement in my swim experience, plus they had a tyr jammer in my size. New White Plains residents, Support local small businesses, this is a good one.”
