“Best service ever! After shopping there, I went out to my car and found it had a completely flat tire. They found an air pump and let me use it to get my car back on the road and over to a gas station. Life savers. Thank you so much!”
“The associates very very friendly and helpful. Small store but easy to find what you are looking for. Ran around the city looking for a certain sized furnace air filter and they had it which was great!!”
“Found what I was looking for and a few other things. Great place to get your tools, so you can fix your vehicle yourself. The tools didn't cost a lot and work the way they are supposed to. Staff was pleasant and helpful.”

“Tori cut some plexiglass for me for a project, three pieces all different sizes. They were cut perfectly and fit my needs exactly. Tori took the time to do the job right. Thank you.”
“Black's Hardware in Rochester is a fantastic, traditional hardware store that has been a community staple for over 80 years (including their previous shop).
On my visit, I had the pleasure of speaking with a lovely gentleman named Mike, who turned out to be an absolute gem. We actually had more in common than I initially thought!
This store specialises in hard-to-find hardware and plumbing parts, boasting a massive inventory where it is honestly easier to list what they don't have.
The entire shop is immaculate, highly organised and clearly priced, with wonderful staff whom are always ready to guide you.
They carry a broad range of items including tools, fasteners (screws, nails, bolts), plumbing supplies, gardening equipment, paint, and rodent deterrents.
Black's Hardware is officially our new go-to store and we cannot wait to visit again!
Plenty of parking available.”

“I had Fairport Hardware perform preventive maintenance on my snow blower and couldn't be more pleased with their service. They got it so the machine started readily and ran smoothly all winter, and they were accessible and happily answered my many questions. The price was fair.
Shoutout to Jamie, for his collaborative, service-oriented approach. A pleasure to work with!”
“They didn't have what I was looking for (single combination wrench of a specific size rather than a set of wrenches), but the helpful staff found some alternatives and also suggested other nearby stores that might have it.”
“Very knowledgeable counter help. They have just about every hard to find parts. Pretty much only place in rochester that you can find parts for all plumbing. Best plumbing supply company in Rochester.”
“Call to get a price for a key to a equinox. I was first told it might be around 112.00 .Went back 80.00 dollars deposit an a additional 97.19 almost 200 for a key.”
“Very cool hardware shop. I stopped in looking for some weirder type lightbulbs and the gentlemen was very helpful, he retrieved the exact bulbs I needed and I was in and out. Highly recommend this place over the big boxes.”
“Shane came out to fix our garage which had gotten stuck and the cable came off. He was super quick and knowledgeable and fixed it in no time. Very reasonable price compared to the other company that quoted me.
I would highly recommend alliance door for your garage repair needs.”
“At least here I find the sales representative to be very helpful and willing to help. Not like Lowes, where I seem to get ignored ?. That's why I keep coming to Homedepot instead of Lowes.”

“Upon coming into the organized store, I was greeted by Nef, who provided stellar service. Not only was he attentive and knowledgeable, we were able to be helped quickly. The product was good quality as we purchased a full dining room table set. I would recommend this place for his service alone. Will come back very soon.”

“Been dealing with this shop for 25 years. ALWAYS treated with respect and courtesy. Prices are fair. Many times they would drop what they were doing to accommodate me. (sometimes for no gain to themselves). YEAH! I will highly recommend them. You will always feel welcome here.”
“Snyderman's has been a staple in the neighborhood for years and hopefully for years to come they have hard to find items for older houses. Things you won't find in The Big box store. The sales personnel are knowledgeable and quick to help you.”
“I have gone in three times and EVERY time they have helped fix my problem immediately and twice not even charged me for it. It feels like the owners simply love supporting the community and helping people take care of their old home. Lovely place.”
“I have had nothing but great experiences with Viking Sales both times I've purchased from them. I've been restoring our historic windows that were so heavily coated in paint they no longer functioned properly. So far I have used their linseed oil wood putty, paint, glazing, plain oil, and shellac flakes. They are knowledgeable about window restoration processes and provide high-quality, chemical-free products that are good for both the environment and people to use. My windows look fantastic so far and I feel confident the repairs and linseed products will last many years to come. The photos are a bit out of order but you get the idea. I already owned a Speedheater Cobra which is how I stripped the windows.”
“Incredible place..... impressive selection. The attention to detail in the organization of everything is amazing. The group of volunteers that run it are obviously committed to their cause. We got everything we needed for an electrical project plus some other handy odds and ends. We'll definitely be returning.”
“This is an old-school business with a great website. Don't expect a fancy storefront with slick confirmation of your order. When I called to confirm, Mike answered the phone and did confirm my order. It shipped out the next day, again with a personal email with tracking number. Refreshing to do business with a real store without call centers, or other trappings of modern online commerce. Keep up the good work, Mike!”
“Paul fling was very helpful answer all my questions in designing the kitchen even helped us pick out faucet appliances that will help us to our needs. Home Depot is very lucky to have as an employee.”
“I came into home depot looking for a particular size, style and stainless steel refrigerator. Couldn't find one. That's when lorena jewett went to the computer and showed us many refrigerators. We selected one. She set us up for delivery. She was very helpful, patient and courteous. Thank you lorna jewett in the appliance department.”
“The prices are just unbeatable here. Not to mention the service is always great! You do have to ask for help though they don't normally come up to you. But they stay with you until you are happy.”
“I had one of the best customer service experiences I’ve ever had at Home Depot, thanks to Jon.
Jon went above and beyond to help me with lumber for a pantry shelving project. He took the time to make sure every board I purchased was perfectly straight, helped cut everything to size, and carefully checked his measurements trusting his experience, but still verifying to ensure it was right.
What stood out even more was how he handled constant interruptions. Multiple customers stopped him with questions while he was helping me, and he assisted every single person with patience, kindness, and a genuine smile.
Jon is in his 80s, and his work ethic, attention to detail, and pride in doing things right are truly impressive. Every time I look at the pantry shelves I’m installing, I’ll remember what a positive experience it was turning a vision into reality with his help.
Home Depot is lucky to have him.”
“I would like to take the time out to acknowledge Jeff in the window and door section. This morning Jeff provided exceptional customer service! He was very professional, polite, and has a positive disposition. Jeff even offered to continue researching our questions, and he would contact us when he has more information to provide. Jeff continue making a difference with customer service!”
“Overall, my experiences at this Lowe’s have been pretty positive—most of the employees are friendly and willing to help when you need it.
That said, this review is really about one standout experience. We showed up last minute needing help loading mulch, and Mark didn’t hesitate for a second. Even though it was close to closing, he came outside with us and helped load everything into the car.
What really stood out was his attitude—he was friendly, patient, and genuinely helpful the entire time. He didn’t rush us or make us feel like we were an inconvenience, which can easily happen that late in the day.
Mark made what could’ve been a stressful, last-minute stop into a really positive experience. Big credit to him for going the extra mile.”
“As an HVAC contractor, Johnstone Supply has been an essential part of my business. Their customer service is solid and professional. Sometimes you need to wait a bit until a salesperson is available, but once they are, everything gets resolved quickly and efficiently — no runaround, no excuses, just solutions.
Their online interface and product catalog are excellent and easy to navigate. In 99% of cases they have the parts I need for furnace and air conditioning repairs in stock, which saves a tremendous amount of time on service calls. Most of my testing and diagnostic tools are purchased here as well — prices are fair, and equipment is reliable.
Johnstone also provides training and technical classes for contractors, which I really value. It shows they care not only about selling products, but about supporting proper installation and long-term service. Overall, this is a trustworthy supplier with great resources for HVAC professionals. I am pleased to work with them.”
“Update 6/30/22 - changed rating to 4 stars from 1 star. Manager (Dan) coordinated additional pickup for left behind section of bunk beds. Hopefully staff will be trained and canned responses will reflect the supports for bunk beds are included in approved donations.
6/23/22 feedback- I find it very wasteful that u will not take the wooden plank support bottom that comes with the bed frame when a bunkbed is purchased. This isn't a box spring- why won't the team accept this part of the bed? Someone has to build or buy this as an extra purchase even though they may be strapped for cash?
I am disappointed. It would have been helpful to know that you considered the wooden planks that cross the framing a "box spring" when u sent the original note explaining mattresses are not accepted.
You should revisit how bunkbeds are sold because that is part of the furniture purchase. Not a purchase i had to make separate for a "box spring" as your techs tried to explain it.
Thanks for considering.”
“I went to a big box store and no one there could help me with my plumbing issue on a Saturday afternoon and another customer recommended Debbie Supply. I went there and when I entered the store an employee asked me if I needed help. He helped gather the parts and tools to address my issue. He was very acknowledgable and friendly.”
