“Best service ever! After shopping there, I went out to my car and found it had a completely flat tire. They found an air pump and let me use it to get my car back on the road and over to a gas station. Life savers. Thank you so much!”

“Went in to buy a Liberty Pump to do a sump pump replacement and had a specific model in mind which wasn't in stock, but their staff quickly found basically the same model in a lower HP which was properly the appropriate choice to begin with. They helped me pick out a check valve and even read my mind and brought out the brick platform that I was about ask for.For a first time homeowner, felt a little intimidated going into supply shops that seem to mostly deal with professionals who know exactly what they need - But had a very pleasant experience and expect to return for my future plumbing supply needs.”

“They didn't have what I was looking for (single combination wrench of a specific size rather than a set of wrenches), but the helpful staff found some alternatives and also suggested other nearby stores that might have it.”

“Shane came out to fix our garage which had gotten stuck and the cable came off. He was super quick and knowledgeable and fixed it in no time. Very reasonable price compared to the other company that quoted me.

I would highly recommend alliance door for your garage repair needs.”

“One of the few staples left in Rochester...its a shame that there arent more mom and pop establishments left. With the large companies the personal interaction is missing! Love this place”

“I mean let's face it- this place is amazing and has one of the last publicly accessible groups of professionals/experts; plus are all reliable. Also, many great tested products, EPIC hardware section, and who else does full faucet internal component repairs/retro-fit/new-fit (?) Not many.”

“The tools are the same quality as stuff you get from home Depot. It wasn't always like that but they've improved. The power tools have improved as well. You can get a gigantic k-bar for like $10, and an oogahorn to replace your boring car horn for a 1999. All you have to do is mount it and put a bigger fuse in. You can get all this stuff while you're actually getting stuff you need all under one roof. It's kind of set up like a casino though. Never figured out how they orientate things but that's okay.”

“I am a Set Decoration buyer for movies and television, based in Toronto, Canada. We LOVE Historic Houseparts! We count on them for their reliable advice and solutions for our period sets. This week I needed several very plain 1950s bathroom and kitchen sink faucets. Kathy did some research and found the most perfect, unadorned 50's-shaped faucets for us. As well, she made sure that they were rush-shipped so that we could meet our always-unreasonable deadlines!Over the years we've used Historic Houseparts for fabulous vintage door hardware, hard-to-find window hardware, vintage lighting...They are always a wealth of information and can help us figure out how to retrofit something into a tricky location where we aren't able to alter the existing structure of the building. Thanks Historic Houseparts - you guys are the best!”

“This is an old-school business with a great website. Don't expect a fancy storefront with slick confirmation of your order. When I called to confirm, Mike answered the phone and did confirm my order. It shipped out the next day, again with a personal email with tracking number. Refreshing to do business with a real store without call centers, or other trappings of modern online commerce. Keep up the good work, Mike!”

“I had one of the best customer service experiences I’ve ever had at Home Depot, thanks to Jon.

Jon went above and beyond to help me with lumber for a pantry shelving project. He took the time to make sure every board I purchased was perfectly straight, helped cut everything to size, and carefully checked his measurements trusting his experience, but still verifying to ensure it was right.

What stood out even more was how he handled constant interruptions. Multiple customers stopped him with questions while he was helping me, and he assisted every single person with patience, kindness, and a genuine smile.

Jon is in his 80s, and his work ethic, attention to detail, and pride in doing things right are truly impressive. Every time I look at the pantry shelves I’m installing, I’ll remember what a positive experience it was turning a vision into reality with his help.

Home Depot is lucky to have him.”

“Entrance for Prime Source is on the east side of the building door, says 346. The first door is the exit, go a little past, and the entrance will be on the right. You will u turn into the building, and the door opens automatically when you get close. There is only 1 dock door working, so I would check in before pulling the truck in. The forklift operator was very efficient and unloaded me in 20 mins for 21 pallets.”

“That Ryan Becker review is garbage. The reason you shouldn't replace your own limit switch is because you may be just replacing a part that is the symptom, not the cause. I've seen seasoned technicians replace the same part over and over before they realize they were not looking at the whole system operation. In the case of a limit switch issue, I would be curious to know if he checked the static pressure or the gas valve input to verify proper flow of both air throughout the system, and combustible gas. Furthermore, I would check for obstructions with my camera as well as identify if the heat exchanger is damaged which could be allowing excess heat through the airway. But yeah, it's Johnstone's fault. New York is full of do it yourself handymen. No wonder the housing market here is terrible. Ryan, if you can't afford a professional, just say so next time.”

“I want to take a moment to recognize Dan G. in the Kitchen Department for his outstanding customer service on Saturday, 2/14/26. Dan truly went above and beyond. Instead of simply relying on the computer system, which showed that two kitchen sinks were in stock, he physically checked the inventory himself. His initiative saved me time, frustration, and potential delays with my contractor during a full kitchen renovation. That level of care and attention to detail is rare and deeply appreciated.

I would also like to recognize Supervisor Mike for stepping in and helping facilitate a seamless purchasing process when I was under a time constraint. His professionalism, responsiveness, and willingness to problem-solve ensured that everything moved forward smoothly.

Both Dan and Mike demonstrated exceptional customer service, teamwork, and commitment to the customer experience. They are true assets to the company. Thank you both for making a potentially stressful situation much easier.”

“Update 6/30/22 - changed rating to 4 stars from 1 star. Manager (Dan) coordinated additional pickup for left behind section of bunk beds. Hopefully staff will be trained and canned responses will reflect the supports for bunk beds are included in approved donations.

6/23/22 feedback- I find it very wasteful that u will not take the wooden plank support bottom that comes with the bed frame when a bunkbed is purchased.  This isn't a box spring- why won't the team accept this part of the bed?  Someone has to build or buy this as an extra purchase even though they may be strapped for cash?

I am disappointed. It would have been helpful to know that you considered the wooden planks that cross the framing a "box spring" when u sent the original note explaining mattresses are not accepted.

You should revisit how bunkbeds are sold because that is part of the furniture purchase.  Not a purchase i had to make separate for a "box spring" as your techs tried to explain it.

Thanks for considering.”
