I absolutely loved that it was completely off the beaten path. It wasn't crowded with tourists or packed with busloads of people. From the moment we pulled in, it felt like we had discovered a hidden gem.
The views are absolutely stunning, but what really stood out was the atmosphere. As soon as you walk into the tasting room, you're greeted with genuine enthusiasm and the warmest smiles. It immediately feels welcoming and personal rather than rushed.
My friend and I each chose different tastings so we could sample even more wines, passing our glasses back and forth over one of the wine barrels as we compared favorites. It made for such a fun experience.
When we checked out, one of the staff members took the time to ask what we liked and didn't like. She wasn't just ringing us up—she was genuinely interested in our taste preferences and wanted to help us discover wines we'd enjoy. That personal touch made all the difference.
Another nice surprise? You get to keep your tasting glass! They also offer cheese, water, and other snacks for purchase, and I loved that they allow you to bring your own food to enjoy with your wine. It's the perfect place to relax for an afternoon.
If you're looking for a winery with incredible views, friendly people, and a laid-back, family-friendly atmosphere that feels authentic rather than commercial, this is absolutely worth the trip. Hidden gems like this are exactly why I love exploring new places, and we'll definitely be back!

Weed Orchards & Winery
43 Mt Zion Rd, MarlboroThis was my first time coming to Weed orchards and I can't wait to go back. It was a bit crazy on the weekends as you need to purchase an entry ticket ahead of time as it's also cheaper. The entire place is walkable and not too hilly. There is a free tractor ride that takes you thru the orchards and they have animals as well. There is food, donuts, and fresh cider being made. I recommend starting with a wine flight to see what you like best. The frozen drinks are a bit too sweet for my liking but still delicious.

Benmarl Winery
156 Highland Ave, MarlboroThe wine is fabulous and the views are breathtaking. What an ambiance. The only food they had to offer when I was there was a charcuterie tray. It consisted of a nice variety of cheeses, along with crackers, grapes and olives. My only complaint is that I would have liked some meat and nuts on the tray. Maybe some prosciutto and candied pecans to round it out. The staff is attentive and great!
