“Black's Hardware in Rochester is a fantastic, traditional hardware store that has been a community staple for over 80 years (including their previous shop).
On my visit, I had the pleasure of speaking with a lovely gentleman named Mike, who turned out to be an absolute gem. We actually had more in common than I initially thought!
This store specialises in hard-to-find hardware and plumbing parts, boasting a massive inventory where it is honestly easier to list what they don't have.
The entire shop is immaculate, highly organised and clearly priced, with wonderful staff whom are always ready to guide you.
They carry a broad range of items including tools, fasteners (screws, nails, bolts), plumbing supplies, gardening equipment, paint, and rodent deterrents.
Black's Hardware is officially our new go-to store and we cannot wait to visit again!

“The tools are the same quality as stuff you get from home Depot. It wasn't always like that but they've improved. The power tools have improved as well. You can get a gigantic k-bar for like $10, and an oogahorn to replace your boring car horn for a 1999. All you have to do is mount it and put a bigger fuse in. You can get all this stuff while you're actually getting stuff you need all under one roof. It's kind of set up like a casino though. Never figured out how they orientate things but that's okay.”
“Snyderman's has been a staple in the neighborhood for years and hopefully for years to come they have hard to find items for older houses. Things you won't find in The Big box store. The sales personnel are knowledgeable and quick to help you.”

“This is an old-school business with a great website. Don't expect a fancy storefront with slick confirmation of your order. When I called to confirm, Mike answered the phone and did confirm my order. It shipped out the next day, again with a personal email with tracking number. Refreshing to do business with a real store without call centers, or other trappings of modern online commerce. Keep up the good work, Mike!”

I had ordered flooring with vinyl tile and ranch trim. Because the trim wasn't in stock, the whole order was canceled. To get the tile delivered in time, I had to pay a $79 delivery fee.
After contacting Kaylee in customer service and explaining the situation, she refunded the $79 delivery fee.
This seems small, but after recent deaths in our family and needing to sell multiple houses to buy another house, we need every penny.
