Everyone is always friendly and it's a bonus to go and check out all the little furry creatures and birds and baby reptiles. The kids especially love it because it's kind of like a mini zoo experience. The selection of aquatics is also really great here.

82 John St, KingstonRough Draft Bar and Books is my favorite place in Kingston, NY! I visited it during a recent weekend trip and went back more than once because I liked it so much. The espresso was delicious, the draft selection was excellent, and the atmosphere was warm, friendly, and fun. And being able to have a drink while surrounded by books was a tremendous pleasure. One final note: service was superb. I went on Independent Bookstore Day, so the crowd was larger than normal (as I was told). The staff handled the additional people with the same care and attention they gave me when I visited the day before. A true gem of a place!

Amazing food, great beer, fun down to earth atmosphere, and just a lovely place to have a lot of laughs or just relax. The chef takes extra care in food preparation using farm to table ingredients, and take extra care and sensitivity to food allergies. Amazing gluten free pizzas if you are gluten free. And his recent Octoberfest menu left me wanting more. I think I licked the plate! Its become a favorite go to spot. Looking forward to the next experience and meal. Takes great pride in what he does and the food he serves. This place is an 11!

579 Broadway, KingstonThis was my first time visiting Tanma Ramen in Kingston, NY. Youko (a family friend of mine) is the business owner of this intriguing restaurant, and the miso ramen is by far my favorite along with a side of kimchi.
Although I made a reservation ahead of time, I still forgive Youko for missing out on my reservation. Lesson learned: ALWAYS make a reservation beforehand.
I like to give this place more than 10 out of 10. It's just what I highly recommend to anyone who would love to try some authentic Japanese ramen.

Of importance to me is great customer service and this restaurant has it! I didn’t realize that I had something going on and ordered something that was very hot to my tongue. She remade my bowl without the hot stuff! That is great customer service!

20 Wiedy Dr, KingstonI adopted 3 female domestic rats from this shelter in September 2023. I was impressed at how well all the animals there were cared for, regardless of their species. I was also glad that they screen all prospective adopters.
It was well worth my long trip from Connecticut. Sadly, the last of my 3 Ulster County SPCA fur babies passed away of old age yesterday, but I'd gladly adopt again from them if others become available. ?
