The chef takes extra care in food preparation using farm to table ingredients, and take extra care and sensitivity to food allergies. Amazing gluten free pizzas if you are gluten free. And his recent Octoberfest menu left me wanting more. I think I licked the plate! Its become a favorite go to spot. Looking forward to the next experience and meal. Takes great pride in what he does and the food he serves. This place is an 11!

416 East Chester Street, KingstonA friend and I visited my son, daughter- in-law and granddaughter in Kingston this past week and we went to Mickey's twice; once for ice cream treats and once for food. The ice cream was good and very reasonably priced. The food was FANTASTIC! I had a Smashburger and it was ABSOLUTELY delicious! I couldn't help but comment with each bite how I loved it! My friend had the XXL BLT and it was delicious as well! Everything about it from bread, bacon, flavorful tomatoes & mild garlic aioli made it a 5 star sandwich. The fries were also hot off the press and very tasty. I also enjoyed the cane sugar root beer. The wait was a little long - which caused us to realize everything was being made to order, so no warmed up old burgers and fries. Very much worth the wait. Since I live in Michigan I will seldom get to enjoy this treat but will be asking to go there every time I visit!

582 Broadway, KingstonThe desserts we had were exceptionally good. This was the best part of the meal. The scallop crudo was small, boring and expensive. The half-chicken main course was very good, and was enough to split between 2 people, but required at least one of them to be good at disassembling a chicken. The atmosphere was very loud. The place is toddler friendly, which is great if you have a toddler, and not so great if you do not. The restaurant is very popular, so reservations are a must. If you are hip and cool, you will probably enjoy it more than I did. It was not bad, but IMO it is a bit over-rated, as the only truly standout dishes we had were the desserts, and they were fantastic. Also, the bread was very very good. The drinks were OK. The price was a bit too high for what were served, in general. Mostly, it was just too loud for eating, for me. I am glad we tried it. 4 stars because- why not? I do not run down a decent restaurant with excellent service that is trying very hard just because it does not suit me.

Thursday was half-price margarita night and I had the opportunity to enjoy a perfectly prepared frozen margarita. The guacamole was among the best I’ve had and the quesabirria was meaty and cheesy and just delicious. Great vibe. Great food. Great people.

I've been enjoying poke bowls in Hawaii and California for years. I can't stop showing off about my poke bowls history and I'm not sorry. I happened to stop into First Capital Poke on a whim and ordered the classic poke bowl. It was PERFECT. The gentlemen creating my poke bowl was curating the ingredients that would soon consume my lunch into a work of art. Layered with flavor and taste. Overflowing with seasoning and freshness. It was all so good. Thrilled to have discovered this gem and I will be back. The fish, the avocado, the seaweed, it was all too good. Cancel my next flight out west, because I found my new favorite poke spot.

20 Wiedy Dr, KingstonI adopted 3 female domestic rats from this shelter in September 2023. I was impressed at how well all the animals there were cared for, regardless of their species. I was also glad that they screen all prospective adopters.
It was well worth my long trip from Connecticut. Sadly, the last of my 3 Ulster County SPCA fur babies passed away of old age yesterday, but I'd gladly adopt again from them if others become available. ?
