This branch has a small town bank feel, where you feel like you have a personal connection with the staff there. Like they know you, and care about you.
Giselle offers advice that has clearly shown to be super helpful come time for tax prep.
im also getting courtesy calls and emails regarding my account that no other bank has ever done before in the past.

I have been a member of State Employees Credit Union for a while now, and I am consistently impressed with the quality of service, both in-person and through their digital tools.
The SECU mobile app, in particular, has become an indispensable part of my daily routine. The convenience and security features already built in are truly top-tier. I want to highlight two features I use constantly:
Seamless Transfers: The ability to effortlessly and instantaneously transfer money between my accounts is incredibly fast and reliable. This functionality is flawless and makes managing my funds simple.
Fingerprint/Face ID Security: The incorporation of the fingerprint sensor and Face ID for logging in provides the perfect balance of security and speed, demonstrating that SECU is committed to modern, safe banking practices.
The Suggestion for a Ten-Star Experience
While the app already deserves a full five stars, there is one crucial security feature that would elevate it to a ten-star experience: an Instant Card Lock/Unlock Toggle.
I would strongly suggest implementing the ability for members to instantly lock and unlock their debit and credit cards directly within the app. Much like how other popular finance services operate (like Cash App), a locked card prevents all purchases or withdrawals. If a card is temporarily misplaced, or if I simply want to ensure zero unauthorized activity, I could toggle the card off. When I’m ready to use it, I simply toggle it back on—instant peace of mind and maximum fraud prevention.
Implementing this simple lock/unlock feature would solidify the SECU app as the most secure and convenient banking tool available. Thank you for providing such a wonderful service!”

“I’m not sure what all of the crying is about in these one star reviews. I’ve used this SECU branch since I moved to the 40/42 area in October of 2004. I’ve always received prompt courteous service. The notarize car titles for free and a wire transfer is only 10 bucks.”

“My daughter (14) and I visited Chase to open a teen account. It was after school and I had my youngest daughter (5) with me as well. Our appointment was handled by David Sorbo and he had incredible customer service. My youngest daughter is special needs (autistic) and she is also nonverbal. However, David provided a coloring sheet, crayons, sensory ball, and a slinky to keep her busy while we completed the transaction, which was not long. I was so grateful for David. He is compassionate, considerate and understanding of customers who may have children with special needs. Chase has become my new favorite bank.”

“This was my bank for 10 years. I thought they were changing too much in fees for simple services. I really enjoyed the customer service people. They were always very helpful. The location is very convenient for parking. Easy to notice from the street and is well lit for evening hours. We also had our home loan here and got great customer service on our mortgage too.”

“I love this location and always get treated like a customer?! I went today 4/17/2020 and was issued a temporary card for my 360 account with no issues.I went to the six forks location asking for a temporary card and didn't get anywhere with the bankers! They gave me an extremely difficult time like they always do?!I'm going to stick with the Garner location as of now to continue to receive professional service. Thanks to Russel- The personal banker for being professional and going the extra mile by bringing me my temporary card to my car and being on a conference call while I activated my card.”
