“This is sort of a Walgreens on super steroids; about twice the size, pretty large grocery selection, office supplies, health & beauty aids, vitamins and a full pharmacy. They also have a wide selection of all types of makeup products. They have a wide selection of coffee including about six or seven varieties of Chock Full O’ Nuts! (They’re about the store in the Dayton metro area carrying that variety of Chock Full O’ Nuts.)(Can you tell that I drink Chock?) If you’re 60 or over, sign up for their courtesy card and on Wednesday get 10% off on anything that’s not a prescription item. I think there’s a higher discount on health and beauty aids for seniors on Wednesday but don’t hold me to it. Everyone there is very friendly, too.”
“Everyone especially the ladies and gentleman in the meat department and the deli do an outstanding job. Always willing to help or assist you with all of your grocery needs.”
“One of our favorite places to grab groceries when we are in the area! The hashbrowns are some of our favorite! Nice clean store with a great amount of options. We enjoy the different seasonal foods as well. Staff is always so nice too!”
“An amazing source for gourmet goodies of all kinds! From exotic spices to the freshest of produce, fish, desserts and meat Dorothy Kane sets the standard! Carry in!”
“Dorothy Lane Market is so impressive. The array of products available is amazing. It's unbelievable how many wonderful foods you can purchase. I highly recommend the ready made hot soups, the salmon chowder soup is delicious. Not to be missed is the bakery known for their famous killer brownies. My aunt treated me to a triple chocolate brownie as a birthday present and I have to admit it is truly the best tasting brownie on the planet. I also enjoyed the chocolate chunk cookie and the Ohio buckeyes. There are tastings of various foods here too which is quite nice. The employees at Dorothy Lane Market are really kind and helpful. It's an expensive place to shop but well worth the occasional splurge.”
“I've shopped at Aldi my whole adult life and my mother before me back in the 80s but these new and improved stores are amazing. However they never have the little things I'm looking for, like shredded lettuce or that cherry pop we found 2 weeks ago but wasn't there today. Also no chicken wings. Well not the one's I get anyway. I'll always shop here so no worries.”
“I sent an email to the managers I found online, but my email was returned. Then it dawned on me that I could leave a review on The Google. Below is what I sent in email: Dear Ms. Jones and Mr. Weiffenbach, I live north of Springfield and visit the Fresh Thyme in Beavercreek fairly regularly. I enjoy the store and am a big fan of the Tomatoes Diabolique and quality of avacados and poblanos. Things are always in stock and of such good quality. The employees at the self-checkout are so cheerful and helpful. I always look forward to my visits. I don't usually contact store managers (lol), but I just had a particularly nice visit this weekend, specifically related to the new (maybe just to me?) employee fixing the sushi. I was there at 10am and was looking at what was in the case, when we spoke and she offered to fix whatever I might want that wasn't in the case. The man who is usually there has always been polite, but this was above and beyond. And when I got home and had the sushi I bought (already in the case), it was the best I'd ever purchased at this location. I don't know why, exactly. More sauces, more veggies, time of day, maybe all? So I just wanted to express my gratitude for a lovely experience as always, but especially about this employee fixing our sushi! Her stellar customer service and kind and enthusiastic attitude were very appreciated. Thank you!”
“This was a very nice Amish store as well as sandwich shop. Found a lot of items cheaper than the stores put in plastic bags or plastic containers. Had a tuna sandwich with cranberries and almonds on a brioche roll and my husband had the same without the cranberries and almonds. They had picnic tables with umbrellas a bike rack, as it’s along a bike trail. I will stop here again.”
“Grew up going to the one in Bellbrook, recycling pop bottles there. Always good service. Meat counter is the best around. Prices are a little higher than elsewhere, but you pay for convenience.”
“Never had an issue at any Aldi I've been to. Probably the lowest grocery prices I've been able to find in any mainstream grocery store. Definitely recommend. Make sure to bring bags ♻ and a quarter!”
“Always have good deals on everything! Shelf’s are neat and seems to have helpful staff. Never disappointed leaving here! Don’t forget your 25 cents for the cart and bags after checkout!”
“First time visiting Keener’s Butcher Block after usually getting our meat from DLM, and I’m really glad we made the stop based on a recommendation. The filet mignons were easily the best thing I’ve ever put on my grill—absolutely outstanding. I also loved that the steaks are cut fresh to order, which makes a noticeable difference in quality. They’ve got a great variety of sides and other items too, so it’s more than just a quick stop for meat. Honestly feels like a bit of a hidden gem. We’ll definitely be back.”
“Good place to go if you are throwing a party. The secret to getting the best value is to buy a whole case of something, otherwise you are paying retail pricing on something you could probably find in a much more manageable size at a Walmart or Kroger. This location tends to have more of the local businesses that come in earlier in the day and buy out what they need so they do not have to hit the delivery minimums for direct shipping. The staff is friendly and helpful if you are the same to them. Overall I like stopping by here occasionally to see what they have on clearance or to see if they have a split case of something that I use at work.”
“Great selection and super helpful staff. I don’t live in the area, but I always make a point to come into this store. Excellent gluten-free options, wide variety of bulk teas and spices, household goods and food! Anything you would need or want food and basic household supplies, including pet food.”
“I've been a long time Aldi shopper way before it was trendy to shop here. It was my secret store. I have noticed the prices have went up with things which I know is surprising but they used to be cheaper! I still shop here regularly every few weeks. About 8 years ago I got my son a 3ft tall Star wars character toy and it was only 15 bucks. Toys r us and had the same exact one for 40 dollars!! And this is why they were my fave store. I always did all my Christmas shopping here.”
“Parking in front of the building is convient. The store is always cool when the weather is hot. The cashiers are nice. The only place i find cans of Faygo firework pop. The last 2 times i have been it wasn't in stock.”
“Dot's is wonderful! I feel at home when I go there. It has unique items, Great deli and meat counter, and feels small town while catering to more unique tastes. Love it!”
“Wonderful people with huge hearts for helping others in need ! This place is always kept clean and well organized. During the summer they plant a garden. They have a gazebo with beautiful landscaping.”
“Great place, great customer service. I’ve been there twice. I’m new to Dayton Ohio. I love the food that they make, I love their desserts. It’s a great place to get different. Unique staples that only they have.”
“The Middle Eastern Market at 1050 Patterson Rd in Dayton is a great place for anyone looking for halal products and fresh Middle Eastern groceries specially the meat. The store has a wide selection of spices, meats, and traditional foods. The owner, Abu Ilyas, is very kind, welcoming, and helpful—he treats every customer with respect and makes you feel like family. Highly recommended! ✅”
“There is a food truck here, and a grocery store! I'd been to the food truck a few times, it's fantastic. This was my first time in the grocery. Great selection of staples! There is also an ice cream counter inside.”
“Love this place. Obviously a little overpriced since it’s a small town grocery but it has everything we need. I especially love the food they sell in the back it’s really good and nice for when we need a fast dinner that’s still good, especially the fried chicken.”
“Great little grocery store just like the ones I would shop at in my hometown in Arkansas. The majority of the the management and staff are very friendly, with the exception of one or two other people that work there, but I never let those employees ruin my shooping experience. The chicken is very good as well a few other deli items.”
“My husband and I have been going here for years. We love the staff, they've always been so friendly and helpful. The store has everything we need and our son loves going”
“They have a great hot bar inside their prices are good their food is good stores always clean staff is always friendly Great convenience store with extra additives”
“The people here are nice, and the food was pretty good. Not a huge selection of things to choose but it’s still a nice place to stop by and look around.”
“Sometimes hard to get the rewards card to scan, as you can't use the card reader to do it. You have to scan your card or put in an alternate ID. The people who work there are friendly, but there isn't much stock other than cigarettes.”
“Place is a Gem. The people that work here are very good people. Make you feel like family. Also you run in to all your friends and family. They have everything you need here.”
“Super clean, and are friendly. Very good place for international food, they have a lot of options ranging from Caribbean, East Africa, West Africa and more. Matoke (Green Banana from East Africa), plantain, cassava, west african yams, sweet potatoes, all types of Fufu Flours, good selections of Teas and coffees, fish, stewing chicken, beet and goat meat.”
“Yum yum go get you sum!! This is the best drive thru in Dayton! I go several times a day and all the workers are personable! Neel is the bees knees! Always have what I need and always willing to order new items requested ????”
The Cincinnati-based supermarket giant will open about 110 new stores in fast-growing markets by 2029 and introduce three updated store formats, executives told investors Oct. 20 at the company’s Investor Update in New York. Kroger already runs about 2,700 stores in 35 states. The formats come in three sizes, a bit like small, medium and large, matched to each market. Mary Ellen Adcock, Kroger’s executive vice president and chief merchant and marketing officer, walked through the lineup.
Walmart shoppers want a head start on the holidays, and money explains a lot of it. Some 44% of respondents call affording the holidays their top stressor, and 61% say holiday costs shape their shopping mood. Asked what would make the season easier, 70% picked lower prices and 57% picked more deals and promotions. Convenience ranks lower: 30% want one-stop shopping across categories, and 20% want faster delivery.
Walmart wants your groceries at the door before the ice cream softens. On May 29, the retailer said its 30-minute-or-less delivery had reached 33 U.S. markets, adding a wave of new cities across the Northeast. Shoppers in those areas can order from more than 100,000 items, everything from fresh produce and baby formula to pet food, electronics, cold medicine, and prescriptions. Behind the scenes, the service leans on Walmart's store network and an algorithm that factors in order size, available drivers, and distance from the store.
Trader Joe's keeps adding stores, and shoppers keep showing up. The California grocer has marked nine more locations as "opening soon," pushing its expansion into new corners of the country. The grocer also took first place in the American Customer Satisfaction Index's 2026 supermarket rankings. It has held a spot near the top of that list for years.
Target is rolling out its most ambitious store overhaul in more than ten years, with plans to remodel over 130 locations and open 30 new stores across the country this year. The retailer is also putting money into supply chain technology upgrades to keep pace with how shoppers buy today.
