Pet Care

Mann Vet Clinic
5110 Cheshire Rd, GalenaWe couldn’t be happier with the vets, technicians and service at Mann’s. They care for our doodle and Great Dane like their own. Yearly checkups don’t break the bank, and they always fit us in for more urgent matters.

Big Walnut Animal Care Center
6962 Big Walnut Rd, GalenaLove Dr. Hurst! She has been our vet for 15 years.
She guided us through our first dog's life. We now have a new puppy and just saw her for our first visit with this pup. She is so excited for us. We trust her completely. During our time doctoring with her we moved an hour away but feel it's no problem driving that distance to see her to know we are getting great care.

Your Divine K9, LLC
6351 Lewis Center Rd, GalenaWe love working with Your Divine K9 and Mitzi! I trained two dogs with YDK9 and board there everytime we go out of town. The only team I trust with my pets! My first dog was a great dog but no manners, Mitzi was a game changer where after training he was off leash trained and constantly complemented on his training. My second dog was a 10 year old rescue and stubborn! Mitzi worked her magic and our pup now goes in her crate without issue and even just relaxes in there, (she would have insane anxiety and accidents before), is wonderful on walks and has great manners! Can’t recommend your Divine K9 enough !

Wolfman's Canines
2720 S Three B's & K Rd, GalenaWe had adopted Diego at the end of December 2023 from the Franklin County Dog Shelter. At the shelter, he was described as super friendly, does not like kids, housebroken, underweight, and "poor leash manners." After having him home for some time, we realized that poor leash manners was essentially code for no socialization and being high risk in most situations. Poor Diego was so poorly socialized that he would sit in the corner and shake if we gave him a Kong, would flinch every time he was touched, and could not be trusted around anyone outside the home due to being a bite risk with limited warning signs. As much as we love Diego, we were truly in over our heads and felt like we were running out of options.
After finding Walter on a multiple week online trainer search, we were immediately impressed with the setup of the scheduling and training options available. Scheduling is easy and we truly appreciated Walter's willingness to be open and honest about what he thought could be achieved. When Diego first met Walter, Diego was apprehensive and gave a hard stare but within just a few sessions, he would give a full "boxer wiggle" when he saw Walter and would go over for pets without his muzzle! Walter has a way of building trust with dogs that is truly unmatched.
Over the six sessions, and completing the homework assignments, we have been able to take Diego to local dog parks to walk around the perimeter while working on recall with Diego able to listen most of the time (something we never even considered as being possible), are learning more about Diego's body language and how to read his short almost invisible fuse, and are continuing to build a positive, fun relationship with Diego. Diego also is more content after walks (see the picture), eats every meal from a Kong/toy, and overall seems happier. While Diego still needs more support and training, we are now more excited rather than fearful about what the future holds!
