“I'm not super into like army stuff and guns and being manly, however I I love combat boots. Now Doc Martens are like $200 and knockoffs break easily. So I buy my combat boots here because they are made to withstand actual war and it sounds so kickass to say that. I bought used ones because the new ones have very limited sizing. The used ones are amazingly priced and have more sizing options. The sizing can be weird though as I am a women's 8 but my shoes are a 4 (I don't know what gender) so keep that in mind. People are nice and it's always fun to look around.”

“Northline is a gem! If you love board sports/biking, and live an active lifestyle or are just starting out, Northline is THE place to go! The staff are so friendly, and always willing to help and answer questions you may have. The first time I came to the shop, I had just purhcased ski boots online and was having so much touble adjusting the clamps to fit my calves. Despite the staff being super busy, they still found time to help me! Mac and Rachel, and all the staff are always so helpful, not to mention Fury (the dog) never fails to brighten your day. Also look at these absolutely gorgeous goggles I won from their shop! This is the place to go, the store front is huge with lots of parking. In the winter, the merchandise caters towards winter sports, and vice versa in the summer!”

“Surf Ontario to the rescue. Who would have thought that getting a pink surf leash would be so hard in Tofino!! I wanted one for a gift and not one shop had one in Tofino or anywhere on Vancouver Island. I saw Surf Ontario did. I called and asked if they would overnight it to me. I would pay for the service and Mike and Jennifer went out of their way to make sure I got it in time. Even with Purolator trying to spoil it by leaving it in Nanaimo. That was a 45 minute phone call but in the end it arrived in time. I have ordered a board from Surf Ontario before as well when no one else had it. Great selection. Great customer service!!”

“They did an amazing job on my gloves! I have had these gloves since I was a kid an have always loved them, so when they started to fall apart and I found myself looking at new gloves, I couldn’t help but notice an overwhelming sadness knowing I would be replacing the gloves I played and won all those games in (as you probably know goalies are a little superstitious) When I found these guys I was a little bit worried where there older gloves, however they absolutely took care of me. Full re palm and I’m still finding more spots they fixed! They really were in bad shape, thanks guys!!”

“i just wanted to say thank you to the gentleman who helped my boyfriend find the hoka mach 7's! i'm sorry i didn't get your name, but my boyfriend is the guy who runs in 0 drop shoes. the gentleman who helped us knew a lot about what the shoes were stated as being vs. what the shoes were tested as being - which we really appreciated. he was exceptional and even after watching my boyfriend jog around the store he adjusted his recommendations, and did some more research for future shoe recommendations with carbon plates. it was clear he truly cared about us as runners and wasn't just trying to make a sale. he emphasized potential red flags from running in the new shoes (since they're quite different) and what to look out for. we really appreciated all of his insight, he went above and beyond to help and we appreciate it so much!! we live a bit further downtown but i would come back to this location just for him to help us with shoes again.”
