“We went to Pak Halal for the first time and bought fresh marinated and other meats at a good price. The place was very clean and busy with lots of people. Since they had prepared fresh hot food to take out. We tried Saturday special Chicken Malai Boti on a fresh naan made right in front of you in the Tandoor as well as other things like chicken samosas. Must try for their fresh meat and prepared hot food. Excellent for parking as it is located just outside before you reach Oshawa Centre.”

“When I was a child I frequented this location with my parents, enticed by the promise of Fruit Roll-Ups and Cheestrings. The company which once inhabited this location was once Price Chopper. Much has changed since then but some things haven't. The warmth and good nature of the staff is what has kept me shopping here all these years. On any given day you may hear the produce manager whistling a cheery tune as you decide on which variety of apples appeals to you. He is often there, greeting customers with a gentle tenderness that makes one feel truly welcome. Throughout the grocery aisles, the stocking clerks work quietly and diligently. Occasionally the silence is broken by an uproar in laughter as they push their stock carts past the cashiers and someone cracks a lighthearted joke. Once ready to checkout, you will be greeted by a cashier who reminds you of your super cool, favourite aunt. In the background, a staff member returning from their break brings in a tray of hot drinks for the rest of the staff which elevates everyone's spirit and adds a glimmer of magic to what can feel like a mundane day. You exchange pleasantries with the cashiers, discussing the weather and plans for the day and then you depart, feeling a renewed sense of hope for the day and for humanity at large. These small pleasantries should never be taken for granted as they are the foundation of a community with heart. “I want to relate a great experience at this store that occurred yesterday. While waiting to check out, there were two check outs open. Both had multiple customers with full carts. There was one couple with a handful of items. I suspect a cashier had been summoned to open a third aisle. A young guy named Gus opened the aisle and cashed the customers out before the cashier arrived. I just thought that was excellent customer service thinking. A few minutes later I was loading my items into my car, and there was Gus retrieving the carts. Even though the cart drop was only one aisle over, he came over and retrieved my cart. That is top shelf service! Employees like Gus make companies great! I relayed this to Store Manager Leeanne Grams, who is a very nice lady. These employees make a customer want to come back.”
“Overall, it's an okay store. Fruit and veg are hit or miss . 50% rotting , 50% fresh. Depends if you are there at the right time. Last time I was there, 4 or 5 types of bread were expired on the shelf (2 days after being closed for a holiday), so just check your dates. Cashiers are not too friendly but also not rude. Most of the time, sale items are available.”

“Update: like others have mentioned since it was taken over and renamed again be careful when purchasing things. I now steer clear of the meat. Used to have amazing fresh cuts and good thick cuts of steak. Cuts are now skinny and some meat looks off. Check expiry dates and also be weary as prices can be more expensive than other stores. Still a good place to pick up a few things in a pinch. ******Great store to have in the neighbourhood for quick little shop. They do have good deals in flyer and that don't show up in the flyer. Some prices of things in the store are higher than if you went to other grocery stores so just be aware. The only thing I wish is that they would change up the deals in the flyers more often. Every time I get the weekly deals flyer in my email, they pretty much reuse the same flyer. They don't switch up what is on the flyer much.”
“This FreshCo has really good prices and deals. They didn’t really have much in stock for meat (maybe because the prices were so good). I have 4 stars because there was a staff member restocking shelves and every time he dropped something he would get really mad and start swearing at himself. It seemed at times he was having an argument with himself which made me and my family feel a little uncomfortable. I think this employee needs a little more training on proper etiquette when on the floor rather than dismissal.”
“Dylan's No Frills on Simcoe St N in Oshawa is a reliable budget staple for north-end folks—killer prices on flyers, fresh produce that's actually crisp (not wilted like some spots), and a solid bakery for cheap loaves. The store's clean and organized, with friendly cashiers who zip through lines, and easy free parking in the plaza. TTC's a quick hop too. Downsides: occasional stockouts on popular items, and those unprofessional managers won't budge on pricing glitches—super frustrating if you're short on time. Great for weekly shops, but check dates and avoid peak evenings”

“This grocery store has been our regular grocery shopping store for 10+ years. We have been to others in area but we definitely prefer this location. Parking is plentiful and has easy access and is in a plaza with a lot of other stores that we regularly visit (dollar store, halendas, great clips, convenience store and many more) The store is always very clean, well lit and lots of room in the aisles. The layout makes it easy to shop for all your groceries. The health/healthier food aisle is pretty well stocked. They have a good amount of cashiers as well as self checkout. We usually go in the early morning during the week as the weekend days can be busy. They always have a good rotation of meat on sale each week. They always have what we need for our weekly grocery needs and I haven't ever seen any of the staples out of stock. This store has a dedicated aisle for healthy/organic grocery items such as coconut milk, almond milk and bobs red mill items (too many more to list). Staff is always friendly and willing to help and answer questions.”
“So i went to this store today and bought a defective gift card. The cashier RYAN was so kind and ordered me an uber when I couldnt get home. Someone needs to give this guy a raise or something because that was so kind of him to do and ill probably never get back in on one of his shifts to thank him. This whole thing has caused som e trust issues with gift cards.”

The Cincinnati-based supermarket giant will open about 110 new stores in fast-growing markets by 2029 and introduce three updated store formats, executives told investors Oct. 20 at the company’s Investor Update in New York. Kroger already runs about 2,700 stores in 35 states. The formats come in three sizes, a bit like small, medium and large, matched to each market. Mary Ellen Adcock, Kroger’s executive vice president and chief merchant and marketing officer, walked through the lineup.
Walmart shoppers want a head start on the holidays, and money explains a lot of it. Some 44% of respondents call affording the holidays their top stressor, and 61% say holiday costs shape their shopping mood. Asked what would make the season easier, 70% picked lower prices and 57% picked more deals and promotions. Convenience ranks lower: 30% want one-stop shopping across categories, and 20% want faster delivery.
Walmart wants your groceries at the door before the ice cream softens. On May 29, the retailer said its 30-minute-or-less delivery had reached 33 U.S. markets, adding a wave of new cities across the Northeast. Shoppers in those areas can order from more than 100,000 items, everything from fresh produce and baby formula to pet food, electronics, cold medicine, and prescriptions. Behind the scenes, the service leans on Walmart's store network and an algorithm that factors in order size, available drivers, and distance from the store.
Trader Joe's keeps adding stores, and shoppers keep showing up. The California grocer has marked nine more locations as "opening soon," pushing its expansion into new corners of the country. The grocer also took first place in the American Customer Satisfaction Index's 2026 supermarket rankings. It has held a spot near the top of that list for years.
Target is rolling out its most ambitious store overhaul in more than ten years, with plans to remodel over 130 locations and open 30 new stores across the country this year. The retailer is also putting money into supply chain technology upgrades to keep pace with how shoppers buy today.
