“I had a good experience today for my son's passport application. This facility can help you with photos and you can also buy money order for passport fee for $2.5 which is really nice. For walk-ins they accept 4 applications a day. We arrived at 8:10am and were the last one accepted. Others came a bit later and they had to go back. It would be really nice they if can have an automated way to tell people that passport walk-ins queue is full so they dont have to wait and figure out.

Other than that I noticed that they can only process 4 applicants per day on walk-ins so it's better if you get an appointment. They were not anyway lazy or wasting time. Scott was quite efficient. As efficient as a human can be.

Also, would be nice if they can have some sitting area for passport applicants since waiting in queue for more than 1 hour standing is really inconvenient.”

“I have been visiting this post office a lot lately, and every time I go, I receive amazing customer service and have a great experience. The people here are friendly, professional, and very knowledgeable about the usps products and services. They say hello and look me in the face as they do. I love that. We live in Sherwood, and I have shipped packages all over the place - NC, CO, NY, Bali, Mexico. Everything was great every single time, for easy domestic situations and hard international ones. I am so happy to have a great post office so close to home. Thank you for what you do, Sherwood PO. I appreciate you!”

“Professional, efficient, helpful staff.
The elderly lady that helped me was an expert and was helping other staff while taking care of customers herself.
Excellent service!”

“This is a governmental agency who’s been chronically underfunded and understaffed. You are supposed to expect delays and slow delivery times. That said, I have never had a bad experience in this location. All employees are efficient and pleasant. You can now do a very short survey by scanning the QR code on your receipt or the signs inside the building.”

“What a treat to have such an engaging and helpful postal worker. I wish I had gotten his name but he was a delight! He directed me to the downtown location for passport services and they had horrible customer services. FYI- it appears neither do passport services. You’ll need to make appointment online.”

“I just wanted to share that the person doing passports that helped me today made a lasting impression on me. They were so kind and calm and made the situation less stressful. Getting a passport and dealing with official documents and stuff always stresses me out; I’m just an anxious girlie and this person was so lovely to interact with and really made the experience so pleasant! Also it literally took 15 mins… so quick and easy!! I forgot your name, but from the bottom of my heart, thank you so much again :) <3 highly recommend this location for your passport needs !”

“This is our 'home' USPS location, after the close down of the Slabtown location on NW 24th. Our first experience was a bit spotty, but in the last 6 months we have been delighted.
The counter staff has been unfailingly helpful, courteous and knowledgeable about any questions re: outbound mail or issues & options for our home delivery. When they have been unable to help directly they have provided contact details for the larger PO behind!
Thank you!”

“In 2026, United States celebrates a truly special milestone. Two hundred and fifty years is no short journey—it represents the unwavering effort, resilience, and shared dreams of an entire nation and its people.

I have been sending postcards and collecting stamps for friends both within and beyond America, hoping to revive the simple beauty of stamp and postcard collecting—a world where stories are preserved through time between the storyteller, the listener, and the one who carries the message.

Walking into the store again after so many years, I found that it still feels just the same. The staff are genuinely kind and welcoming, always greeting visitors with warm smiles. To preserve love, trust, and connection over such a long period of time is never an easy thing.

Congratulations on “250 Years of Delivering.” Thank you for being part of the invisible thread that connects people, memories, and stories across cities, across borders, and across generations.

Creativity has always been a gift. It is never just a letter, but a thread of connection—one that carries warmth, memory, and love from one person to another. So while we still can, let us choose to love one another, my friend.”

“I was reading some of the other posts and I don't know who this Elizabeth is but if she is one of the ladies work in the counter I don't think that she is the same way that she used to be or maybe she doesn't work there anymore either way every time I've gone in I've got some Asian ladies at the front who are super nice to me very informative and really helpful every time I've gone in everything seems to be the way that it's supposed to be I've never had any problems and they go through the lines pretty quickly I've had my PO box there for 6 months now and I haven't had any issues they even held a package for me and put the information on a piece of paper on the package so that I could get it dealt with in a more efficient and better way I like this location”

“We went in to post some post cards from our travels and Herb helped us quickly and efficiently!

He was personable and was happy to chat and tell us about Portland. It was nice meeting him.

P.S. the negative reviews feel over-the-top.”

“Even when busy, this post office offers friendly and quick services. I’ve witnessed impatient and rude customers occasionally at this branch, but the staff is always patient and professional.”

“These customer reviews are unhinged, this is the best post office in SW Portland. I visit 2-3 times a week for business, employees doing their best every day. Drop box is maintained so it doesn't get too full. Clean facility, keep it up!”

“I'll start by saying I was having a very bad day, one of those kinds of days where it seems like the universe is against you and everything just keeps going wrong. I visited the Waterfront/Madison Street USPS location for the first time for a passport where I was greeted by Coco and Sharon. Teary-eyed and not my finest moment in public, they went out of their way to help me. I will never forget the kindness and empathy they both showed me, they completely turned my day around. I hope so much goodness comes to these two special ladies. We need more people like Coco and Sharon in this world! :')

And I hope that if Sharon or Coco reads this, they know how appreciative I truly am.”
