Pet Sitting & Training

Cascade Pet Camp
3085 Lower Mill Dr, Hood RiverMy wife and I recently had our first child. He arrived later than expected and with some complications. Cascade Pet Camp worked with us to get our high energy German-Wirehaired Pointer boarded when we needed it and extended his stay many times at our request even around busy Thanksgiving. I've been very pleased with their service and my pup seems to enjoy his stays as well. Highly recommend!

Pet-Friendly Restaurants

Pesco
108 OR-35, Hood RiverWe needed a quick bite after a day of riding at Syncline, and boy, are we glad Pesco was around. The chef's pistachio pesto pasta, beef ragu, and focaccia left us speechless. Perfect balanced flavor and texture with every dish. No notes. Scarfed it so fast that I forgot to snap a photo. I did get one of the VERY generous local dog treat that the chef spoiled our pup with. She even snuck in a little appetizer for him with our meal. We will most definitely be back when we are in the area looking for incredibly delicious food from a dog-friendly cart!

Mugen Noodle
212 4th St, Hood RiverGreat food and excellent service. I came pretty close to closing and they still sat me, never made me feel rushed and told me to take my time. I've been to a few spots in downtown where I was told they were no longer seating despite their posted business hours, so this was greatly appreciated and excellent service. That alone will keep me coming back. If it's your first time, my warning would be that medium spice is pretty hot (in my opinion).

Spinning Wheels Brewing Project
606 Oak St Suite B, Hood RiverStumbled on this place a few years ago on a trip to Hood River. Hard to find if you don't know about it. Great beers on tap, probably the best Pale Ale I've had. Always love a place where you can chat with the owner or head brewer. Great place to grab one or two on your way down to the river.

Crush Cider Café
1020 Wasco St, Hood RiverWe found ourselves in Hood River and looking for a place we could enjoy some local ciders. Crush Cider Café was it! The service was friendly and welcoming, the selection of ciders was large with something for everyone's tastes, and everything we sampled was delicious. We ended up leaving with a 6-pack of ciders canned on site with our favorites. Their tacos were phenomenal, and the warm house made corn tortillas were fantastic. We dined outside and the patio was cozy. Definitely make this a stop when you are in Hood River if you are looking to try a wide variety of ciders and enjoy delicious food!

Marchesi Vineyards & Winery
3955 Belmont Dr, Hood RiverThis winery is so lovely & enjoyable. There is a resident winery cat and dog that are so sweet and made our visit even better! The fire pit is cozy and made us feel so welcome. We can tell the owners put so much love into this place. Grape vines are very where, creating a perfect ambiance and separated each “cubby” where you can enjoy your own private space for wine tasting with your very own fire pit. The Pinot Grigio and all the red wines we tried were fantastic. Attentive staff and beautiful ambiance! Highly recommend!

Pine Street Bakery
1103 12th St, Hood RiverA friend and I stayed at a cabin in Mosier and hit up this local bakery for lunch. We both enjoyed a Turkey Panini. The bread was nicely toasted and the fillings, generous and flavorful. We indulged in several treats, including a marionberry hand pie, a traditional chocolate chip cookie and an apple muffin that blew my mind. The handpie was really well-crafted. The pastry was crispy and flaky, the inside was a tart jammy berry flavor. The apple muffin had a delicious oat crumble on top, and the inside was super moist, fragrant, lightly, sweet and filled with pieces of soft cooked apple. I regret not buying two!
