    “As of April 18, 2026, it seems like they've really turned it around, no piles of merchandise blocking the aisles, everything looks neat and organized. I'm impressed. (Original three-star review) I really want to like this place because it's super convenient, but more and more I'm taking my money elsewhere: Aldi for groceries and The Yard Place for pet stuff. DG's prices are creeping past Giant Eagle, the aisles are constantly cluttered with merchandise which hadn't been put away, and it seems like they're always out of the thing I came in for--or it's in the pile waiting to be stocked. And on a Saturday they'll only have one register opened. This store 100% needs new management, more employees, better wages, something. It's a damn shame because, like I said, great location.”

Canada's largest food and pharmacy retailer announced it will spend $2.4 billion in 2026 to open new stores, renovate existing locations and strengthen its supply chain. The company plans to open 70 new stores in 2026. That includes 34 Shoppers Drug Mart and Pharmaprix pharmacies and care clinics, along with 31 hard-discount No Frills and Maxi grocery stores. On top of the new openings, Loblaw will renovate another 191 stores and continue construction on a roughly 1.2 million-square-foot automated distribution center in Caledon, Ontario.
