    “I love Tom's market. Just a little market on market Street. They have their own butcher, a great deli, tons of salads and meats. Their store is impeccably clean. Always. Their prices are what you would expect for a small market to have to charge. So it's probably not the place for a million groceries, but it's definitely where I go every time. I want to prepare a nice meal with very fresh ingredients that I know are prepared with love from this place. The manager of this store is second to none. He's there morning, noon and night. Great place!!”

A case of Kesars or Alphonsos, though always pricey, will win anyone over who's only ever had mangos from the supermarket. This little grocery was able to provide both types, and the Kesars are gorgeous. Just as important to me this time, this is a very honest, helpful business, and when I realized the Alphonsos were over-ripe -- after getting home, two hours away -- they made it right as soon as I let them know. Outstanding helpfulness!”

    Kroger is spending $112 million to build two new stores and renovate 15 existing locations across central and northwest Ohio. The company calls it a "record-breaking" commitment to the region. The two new Kroger Marketplace stores will rise in Canal Winchester and Delaware, Ohio, each costing roughly $30 million to build. Kroger broke ground on the Canal Winchester location on March 19 at the southeast corner of Diley Road and Greengate Boulevard. The 118,000-square-foot store is expected to open in late fall 2026 and will create around 250 jobs.

    Loblaw Companies Limited is putting serious money into its retail network this year. Canada's largest food and pharmacy retailer announced it will spend $2.4 billion in 2026 to open new stores, renovate existing locations and strengthen its supply chain. The company plans to open 70 new stores in 2026. That includes 34 Shoppers Drug Mart and Pharmaprix pharmacies and care clinics, along with 31 hard-discount No Frills and Maxi grocery stores. On top of the new openings, Loblaw will renovate another 191 stores and continue construction on a roughly 1.2 million-square-foot automated distribution center in Caledon, Ontario.
