“I started my quest to buy my first zero turn mower. After doing research on the brands and features. The more I looked the more I saw how many problems people had purchasing a zero turn mower from a home improvement store. Examples would range from, It took me 4 hours to purchase, The mower wouldn’t start and my favorite “we cant sell that one your sitting on because its not in our inventory.”So I began to research vendors. I was hesitant thinking I would have to travel to find one. That’s when I came across Catoe’s.I read a few great reviews. I learned that they've been in business for years. I've always been a proponent of supporting local vendors. It all seemed too good to be true. I decided to stop by the shop and see for myself. The Catoe’s website said that they opened at 8:30 AM. So on a Monday morning I pulled in the lot at 8:40 and it looked like they had already been working for hours. As soon as I walked in the door I was greeted and asked if I could be helped. I replied that I was going to look around the showroom which I may add is very impressive to say the least. I walked back up to the counter to ask a few questions. I told the salesman I was interested in the 42” Toro zero turn mower. He asked me why I was interested in the 42” and I told him it seemed like it would get the job done quicker and stay inside my budget. He then asked me about my lawn and how it was configured around my house. He proceeded to recommend the 34” Toro time cutter. To say I was surprised that a salesman would down sell his product would be an understatement. I was aware of the 34” TimeCutter because it had some great upgrades and after talking about maneuverability around my home. I decided to take the advice and the leap.I asked the salesman what his name was he said his name was Ben and I remembered from reading the reviews that he was the owner.The purchase process was simple, fast and extremely efficient. They even do the warranty registration for you. Ben said they could deliver the mower the first thing the next day. When I answered the door I was surprised to see Ben himself was delivering the mower. We went outside to see my new Toro and he proceeded to give me very efficient and detailed walk through. What to look out for how to perform maintenance and just general information to get me started. After my first use I must admit Ben was right on with his recommendation. I love this mower.I have been so pleased with this experience that I have already returned to Catoe’s buy a Stihl trimmer. Once again, my experience with Jeremy this time was right on par with Ben. As soon as this South Carolina heat breaks I'm going to go back to start looking at some of the Stihl pole saws.To know this service is available right here in Columbia with the level of honesty, expertise and real customer service has already, and will continue to sure Catoe's will be my go-to vendor. What a relief!!I cannot recommend Catoe’s enough. A++++ fellas!”

The prices here are really great and a lot of the tools are really great quality versus the price. Their ratchets and sockets are really durable and they honor a lifetime warranty right in the store if you have any issues. We outfitted almost the entire interior with quality items that are still serving us well (cabinets, entire bathroom & kitchen, wood flooring, tile & slate). Over the weekend when choosing where to go for an add on bathroom in the basement we decided to go back, since we had such good luck there so many years ago. Andrew was very accommodating and efficient in helping us with our purchases & even helped out with changing out an item (oops, our fault not theirs) after the sale. Same manager was there that helped us out 12 yrs ago! Great to see a business still going strong & doing right by customers consistently. “I always find it interesting to read others reviews before I post my experience. I was very surprised by the low reviews based on my rental. However many of the 1 and 2 stars are from years ago, so perhaps Home Depot heard your cries for help and improved. We rented a large jack hammer to deal with some very stubborn rock (from hell since even the excavator we rented [from a machine rental company] was not doing the job). From my 1st phone call to the return process, these young ladies were great and very knowledgeable, kind and courteous. They were crazy busy from the moment I walked into the store with pick ups, drop offs, phone calls, walk ups asking questions, helping load (yes these ladies were loading equipment, too), they really were very patient super stars, especially now during covid and all the extra that extra work it entails. I can definitely say my experience at HD tool rental department were definitely 5 stars.”

“I'm loving those Hercules tools. I got a 20v impact to replace my old 12v DeWalt impact and I have thoroughly been impressed. So much so that I've picked up a 20v recip saw and will be getting the 120/20v shop vac soon. I work in the HVAC field and tools get dropped from ladders from time to time. If it can handle that, I will say that they are better than DeWalt and Milwaukee based on price.”
