“My wife and I have loved Lidl for some time, and we were excited when a new store opened on Dorchester Road in Charleston. For the first year, the store was magnificent, and we often went more than once a week. We especially loved the fact that Lidl was not like other chain American grocery stores. There were more international foods, and the special weeks devoted to different countries (Greek Week, Italian Week) offered us food we simply could not find anywhere else. But more recently, these have started to fade away. We fear that Lidl is going to set aside what made it distinctive and truly excellent to be more like the average American grocery store. We hope this doesn't happen and that our fears are unfounded. But if Lidl does go in this direction, it will lose some of its most loyal customers. In addition, it will never be able to successfully compete with the more established American supermarkets.”
“My wife and I like this grocery store. It has a fairly good selection and really good prices. Sometimes we can't find a few of the main brands we usually get, but Aldi normally has a similar brand or generic. That's my only complaint. Everything else is good. Go there for the prices.”
“The workers are very nice [most of them.]They actually put the groceries in the correct way and very friendly to chat with while paying [sometimes.] (Dont chat for very long there is a line btw)”
“This location is EXCEPTIONAL for all the critical services. Selections are vast and inventory is available. Produce is fresh, well stocked and beautifully displayed. Pricing is more than fair and holiday items from around the world are exceptional.”
“Friendly staff and the store is always very clean. I order regularly from Instacart for pickup and they almost always have my order ready ahead of schedule. I have had a couple negative moments with the store but considering how much I shop here, that's bound to happen on occasion. Overall great experience.”
“Very friendly and helpful im handicapped and sometimes i need a little help .they always offer help when they see me slowing down ..there Deli and hot food is one of the best and very reasonably priced .they have the best fried chicken lg not the bantam size you see most places .not all batter either just big plump chicken the way it should be not over seasoned or salty.they have a seafood special on Friday and saturday . 4 big whole fish,a lot of shrimp , oysters I believe, and another, along with the fixings .enough for at least 4 or more for around $27. ...the flowers are always fresh, beautiful. bunches or arrangements. Good fresh produce a lot local .they have a fresh fish section that's fresh and mainly local depending on whats running during season as to what they have its very popular and a lot of time especially Friday and Saturday they run out of the nice local catches. The rest of the meats are fresh cut and most a little less than Publix or Harris Teeter.a good variety of goods inc some southern favorites .only draw back ive found is on a few items they were out of date so check dates. Thats why i only gave the 4 stars instead of 5 stars ..Theres plenty of parking and easy access for handicap .they bag and take to car and load the groceries for you . They take checks, bank cards inc debit.. cash of course and food stamps ...
Overall a pretty good place to shop or just to stop by and go to deli for lunch or dinner or get togethers..?”
“The store appears to have been remodeled recently, or maybe it's under new management. The inside was extremely clean, well-stocked, and organized. The young cashier was very pleasant as well. If you gave up on them before, give them another chance!”
“It's in north Charleston, so there's that; but the floor was clean, the employees were nice, and the bathroom looked clean. About all you can ask for.”
“It's always very clean they have everything you need. Lots of ice cream and cakes already pre-made You can order them if you order early in the week. Never a disappointment there.”
“Every time I visit a new city and I'm driving through their neighborhoods, I make an effort to spot different cultural shops, stores or restaurants and this little Mexican Carniceria was quite surprising. I was expecting to find your typical taqueria in the back of the store, but I was excited to find that they also sold raspados!I was super excited because ever since I moved out of LA and to Atlanta, I have not been able to have a raspado in many years. It was really good and it reminded me of home, but I was a bit disappointed when they didn't have any vanilla flavor and had to get a half coco and half strawberry. They also provided the "La Lechera" brown drizzle instead of the original "Carnation" white condensed milk, but in all, it was good.Lastly, I did order a chicharron quesadilla, but the chicharron was a bit soft, instead of crispy, but overall it had a good flavor and it was huge! So I highly suggested come with an empty stomach.”
“Coming here for years and their prices are unbeatable for a cornerstore. Also they just opened up a liquor store in the same spot a few doors down!!! Great prices there too!”
“Nice place. The negative review below sounds like the costumer needs to learn boundaries. The business has clearly listed their hours of operation. Good spot. Good food good prices”
“I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who is a tortilla fanatic. They bake the tortillas fresh in front of you. if you want the best taco, definitely shop for tortillas there!”
“I did the curb side pickup and it was great. The time it took for it to be ready was pretty quick and the ease of the website to place the order was easy. It notified me when my order was ready and how to check in when I arrived. The product was the correct one as well . I will definitely do curbside pickup again”
“***Hidden Gem***Having traveled to 24 countries, I’m quite familiar with a variety of foreign cultures. If you’re in North Charleston, looking for truly authentic Mexican food - don’t miss this spot.$3 Tacos that will erupt your taste buds! The giant burritos are out of this world amazing and are around $10-12.Highly recommend!”
“It was a very pleasant experience. Everyone there was nice and it is very clean and packed with wonderful. I purchased some of my favorite things and an herbal tea that I probably would have only found, possibly, in a health food store.”

“I ordered a chicken gyro today and it was absolutely delicious. Like, I’m telling my friends about it delicious! The grille is hidden all the way in the back of the store. But you need to go and get some lunch!!!”
“Conveniently located. The store itself tends too be unorganized and cramped, but mostly due to patrons who make it that way. All of the staff are friendly, diligent, helpful and hard working-- no one is ever just sitting around.”
“It's honestly nice to have a good African store in town. Being Nigerian it's hard to find what I need for traditional dishes and this place has it. Normally I'll have to wait to visit family in Atlanta but now I don't have to! The gentleman that runs the store is also very nice and helpful I can't wait to continue shopping there!”
“This maybe a smaller Food Lion…..but staff make up in the end as always so helpful. Never a bad time shopping!!! Always have what I’m wanting. Cashiers are so helpful to me as a senior. This is the best store I’ve ever been too!!!!”

“Gets busy at times and is quite small inside the Isles don't seem very easily accessible for wheelchair users:( the variety of Indian dish ingredients is so remarkable! They didn't have milk , and eggs which was unfortunately what I needed but other then that it has alot of unique ingredients and seasonings for meat there! Not to mention the variety of lotto tickets was pretty impressive. I dropped in and grabbed a water that was just above a buck! In these times thats pretty killer.”
“We are visiting from Florida and love to seek out local places. I had the lavender iced latte and my husband had a crooked tea. Love this shoppe and the concept. If we ever visit Charleston again we will definitely be back to visit The Odd Duck.”
