“Wonderful place to stay. The lake right next to my room is so beautiful at dawn and is pretty accessible. The hotel also offers free paddle boat access. It took me about half an hour to circle around the lake and have a closer contact with the ducks (which is also very fun). The only regret is the lundary is paid and only accepts coins, which is hard to find for late night washes.”

“Lovely hotel close to Keystone but secluded in nature. The room was great but, we thought it was odd there was only the deadbolt and not a secondary lock on the door. However you have to use a key card to get into the hallway so that helps with security.
We enjoyed the breakfast options. Staff were all friendly.
It was a wonderful stay.”

“I have to give a huge shout out to our waiter Toby! I had him twice this week and he is amazing! He is so polite, attentive, friendly, awesome communication skills, and always has a smile on his face! He should be training the hostess staff with how to treat customers! The hostess staff, particularly an older lady with glasses and a younger lady that wears her hair down, are not welcoming at all- they seemed quite annoyed and had an attitude which makes you second guess at first if this is the place you really want to eat at. But because of our experience with Toby, we came back for a second time this week. Highly recommend the bloody mary and pork shank!”

“An excellent place to stay for a complete night out. The rooms are quant, cozy and private. Very clean with a long list of amenities not normally available in a bed and breakfast such as plenty of snacks, extra towels and/or many things you don’t normally think of of, but sure do appreciate as they become known. The onsite eatery serves fresh delicious food and the omelettes are off the chart. Highly recommend!”
“We stayed there the last full weekend of October 2025. I didn't know it was their last weekend for the season when I booked but it ended up being great because it was still beautiful weather and quiet. This was a belated birthday celebration for me, but also a belated anniversary celebration. I did some of the indulgences. The flowers were beautiful. I got us one of the charcuterie trays and it was delicious. My husband said that the chocolate covered strawberries were miles better than ones I have done in previous years from stores. We also enjoyed the chocolate bark. We ate the hot breakfast our first morning and it was delicious. I didn't do it the second morning since we were checking out, but I wish I would have. We stayed in the King suite with the hot tub and really enjoyed that. The bed was so comfortable. We also enjoyed the fire place and the shower. We ended up not using the indoor tub because we just showered after the hot tub. The grounds were beautiful. We enjoyed visiting with the host and hostess and other people staying there at breakfast. The only thing I would change is either running our errands in Rapid the day we checked in or staying another night, so we could have a full day at Summer Creek to relax. We definitely will stay again.”
“Very upstanding business! I threw them a few curve balls and they were polite, professional and thoughtful throughout. Our stay was excellent. The location is great, very nice views and best of all, great spaces to keep families entertained. Highly recommend”

“Thank you so much to Jenette getting me a room when the first hotel I tried was terrible. She beat the online price and provided excellent service. I am so happy here and will sleep good knowing I have a nice clean and beautiful new room. Thank you so much.”

“This is a good hotel/motel in Keystone. Great for price and location. No breakfast. They have laundry. You can also walk to town. 10 min. Fantastic coffee shop across the street called Grapes and Grinds. Just try it. You won’t be disappointed.”

“Good stay except one rude worker (can't remember her name). Reservation said we can do an early check in for an extra $25 but we were denied. Breakfast was sad but pool was good and room was clean”

“I stayed in a two-queen bedroom for two nights. While the sound isolation isn't the best (i.e., you can easily hear what's happening outside the corridor), the guests have been mostly quiet, and I haven't had any issues with noise during my stay. The room comes with a TV and a coffee maker—no microwave or mini-fridge, but that shouldn't be an issue since there are many restaurants around the hotel. The bathroom feels spacious. I didn't use the bathtub for a full bath, but I did enjoy the very hot water from the shower.
The hotel is located in the heart of downtown Rapid City. One of the selling points of this hotel is its proximity to Mount Rushmore. I didn't visit it, but if you do, it'll be a short 30-minute drive. Other tourist attractions, such as the Journey Museum and the Museum of Geology, are within walking distance (about 20–30 minutes on foot). There is an airport shuttle, but it costs $10 one way (as of Nov 2025). When I visited, this hotel was the most affordable option in town, even cheaper than Airbnb options. If you don't need to use a full kitchen, this could be a good option if you're staying in Rapid City.”
“We fit 10 people (including 5 kids) into one cabin comfortably. The rooms were clean, the staff were amazingly helpful and kind, the kitchen was stocked with dishes (although short on baking pans), and there was a washing machine and dryer that we made use of more than once daily.
A light breakfast is offered at the main office - oatmeal packets, bread, english muffins, brownie bites, cereal, milk, juice. There were toasters and a microwave to heat items up in, but only styrofoam dishes (which I don't use in microwaves). There was an option to pay extra for egg sandwiches from a freezer that could then be heated. Since our cabin had a full kitchen and real dishes, we went to the grocery store and got some things for breakfast to supplement what was provided (and warmed things up in the real dishes).
We were so impressed by the location and price! It worked out perfectly for us.
Since it was a cold week, they did not have the splash pad running nor did we use the playset or outdoor picnic area. But given different circumstances, the kids would have loved those things!
It is readily accessible right off the highway. We came to it straight from hiking the Badlands and from it we visited Mount Rushmore, Custer State Park, Wind Cave, Jewel Cave, Mamoth Site, Hot Springs, and The Black Hills.
Thank you Rockerville Cabins for making this family trip an amazing experience!!”
