“Everyone here is great. They were very kind to us and our animals. We had recently moved from out of state and needed a check up on our animals, and the cat that “came” with the house needed checked out. They fit us in to their schedule. Our cat needed a procedure done that required an E collar. They called us after a few days to check up on her to see how she was doing. That showed us how much they care. Great experience all around.”

It was a hard decision to make but Kendall, the referral coordinator, was super helpful with the scheduling process and she was able to get us a same day appointment when Harley’s health took a turn for the worst unexpectedly. We are also incredibly grateful to Dr. Janet Meeks for her care and compassion. Thanks to her kindness and professionalism, Harley was able to pass at home in a space where she felt safe and comfortable which I’ll always be thankful for.”

I called early one morning for an emergency and even though they were slammed in there. They told me to come on. “Our cat Lou has been under Dr. Grasshoff from the beginning. Being a stray he had several issues, but with her expertise he was soon back to good health. When she moved to FM1960 Animal Hospital we did not hesitate to follow her. Dr Grasshoff and her team are excellent, such caring warm people. The hospital is very impressive. I highly recommend it.”

“My poor little true feral kitty has come to 6-7 year middle age cat life and realizes she needs more shelter. She has mange, she’s gone deaf probably from ear mites that I could never get my hands on her to treat… and other solvable problems. Solvable only if anesthetized. This has come about because she decided to live inside with me.
The clinic treated her, bathed her, checked her all out and today she is no longer clawing and biting at herself. She is sleeping peacefully probably for the first time in years. It was a mercy treatment and her feeling better makes me feel better.”

I just called this office and spoke with Jared and he was extremely pleasant and polite and it was the easiest quote that I’ve gotten from any clinic I think ever so I really really appreciate that and because of that I will probably go into this clinic. I’m looking forward to my experience here and again. I just want to thank Jared for making that process easy for me especially when a lot of other clinics make it extremely hard.”

“I found them when I had to put my beloved Kiki down. He had been to two other vets that basically tortured him with bad treatments, not being sterile before examining him, cutting off the circulation to his leg, etc. My baby became blind & had a huge infection in his mouth that would have required me to pump him full of meds, surgery & eye removal. I just couldn't do it. He was 14yrs old. He deserved peace.
Dr. Danielle Maislos & the vet tech I met at the West Alabama Animal Clinic were the most compassionate people I had met during Kiki's illness journey & it was because of them that I knew I was in a place where Kiki could cross rainbow bridge surrounded by people who truly loved their jobs and the animals that come through their doors. They gave me all the time I needed to say goodbye & hold him when it was over. Their compassion knows no bounds and I'm glad that the Lord lead me to them so that Kiki's last hours weren't in pain and suffering; he was loved, held and now with his brother and I will see him again. ?
I may have met them during heartache, but I have finally found a new vet for my other furbabies. Thank you to everyone that made that process so much easier. From letting him go, picking out his urn & picking up his ashes & putting on his name plate on his urn (that was tricky!), everyone has been more than helpful than any other vet Kiki saw during his illness.”

“DR. Deschamps and her staff saved my girl Lita's life. Last Tuesday the day after Hurricane Beryl came through, I walked in my room looking for lita i couldn't find her anywhere. I finally found her under my night stand and i went to move her and she was limp. I pulled her out from underneath the nightstand and started calling my vet. no one was opened due to the fact no one had power. Brookdale was the ONLY place open. I pulled up and took lita straight in. The assistant was very concerned and helpful and took lita right away. i told her i rushed out so fast i left my wallet at home. Dr Deschamp gave me a quote on what it would be to get lita on the right road and i said "lets do it whatever it is please save her." The cost was in my range and i was so happy about that, because i have a blood disorder and monthly i pay anywhere from 300 to 500 on medications. The staff member said if lita is stable enough we may send her home with you to get your wallet because believe it or not weve had people abandoned their animals and not come back" that alone broke my heart. i couldn't imagine ever leaving my girl behind. Dr D trust me enough after we talked about what Lita needed, to go get my wallet and come back. i live down the street so it didnt take me long. i came back and made my payment. they ended up keeping her most of the day because she needed fluids and to be monitored with medications. they couldn't keep her overnight because they were running on back up generators and wouldn't have anyone to watch her through the night. i went to pick her up and couldn't believe the difference in her. i brought her back the following day. i had limited funds of only $200.00 and Dr. Deschamps words not only touched my heart but made me realize what a great dr she really was. she told the the assistant (who by the way, was amazing like the first assistant on that Tuesday) "i can work with 200.00" she made it work and Lita survived because of her and her staff. I know for a fact Lita wouldn't be here with me today if not for this dr and her staff. they saved her life. I wished there were more Dr. Deschamps in the world.
