“This little post office in our neighborhood is just the best! Always a friendly greeting when we open the door, and always a, “How can I help you?” The post people who work in this post office are so nice and they understand exactly what we need as soon as they are made aware why we’re there. From stamps to sending packages, or shopping the greeting card and magnet section, they are ready to help. Recently I had to go to another P.O. a few miles away. No one spoke at all as people came in and lined up for service. Some of us were treated with total indifference, and some with curt answers. Why is that? What makes the difference? Why do the guys at our little P.O. treat their customers with civility instead of rudeness?

“The iconic store in Chinatown, the only Chinese USPS I know, is also the first time I have seen a bookstore and post office combined. It is very convenient to send letters. Please note that the opening hours are 12:00-6:00.”

“This location is the best post office in the Upper Kirby neighborhood! (Probably the best in Houston). Each person who works behind the desk is always so patient, helpful, and kind. I often come to this location to ship packages and the customer service is top notch. This location also has a new self-service shipping option as well for those who ship packages with a QR code like me. This makes it easier if there is a line of people waiting or the desk is closed. Even when there is a line at this location, it moves quickly and efficiently. Love this location and appreciate the employees who make the shipping process easier!”

“The employee Huu, Jackson, and Laura have all been extremely helpful, informative, and patience with in the process of mailing all my wedding invitations. I first interacted with Jackson the other day where he help me find the best options to mail out multiple invitations at an extremely affordable rate and explaining to me the pay breakdown of the mailing system for the options I have considered. Huu helped me confirmed I was doing everything right in terms of packaging and affixing the appropriate amount of Forever Stamp. And Laura was extremely kind in taking all my finally sealed and appropriately stamped mail for send off. Overall, the team has been great. Just has they have been patience with me, I hope everyone else can be patience with them. We are just all doing our best of help each other. Thank you all!!!”

“I came here today 8/19/2025 to mail a package. Even it is a simple mail, I am truly impressive by the beautiful service from Ms. Riley. She was the only staff at that time. When I walked in, she nicely greeted me and directed me to the right counter. She was assisting a customer to handle a heavy package, showing the customer detailed steps at Self Service booth. Then, she came to the counter to complete my mail. Her smiles, kind communication, quick and efficient service from start to finish are all above and beyond my satisfaction. Additionally, this post office location opens very early at 7:30 am, which is a good convenience. I also completed an online survey to give thanks to this nice experience today.”

“1 star missing because it was so hard to find, no signs posted anywhere and did not show up in the directory. For anyone that may need, it is located in the food court downstairs, past the salon and towards the restrooms. Once I got there John gave me the best customer service! He is a natural with interacting with customers, just an amazing example of how customer service should be!”

“I went to this USPS location to get my fingerprints taken and also to send out federal documents. The lady who took my fingerprints was very nice and accommodating -- I will definitely go back to get my passport photo taken. Maybe others who rated low were going for different reasons, but my experience was great.”

I'm looking at it from another point of view.. customers come in UNPREPARED, holding up the line, they are told what they need to do and they still want to argue with the PROFESSIONAL and tell them what to do..its The UNITED STATES POST OFFICE NOT UPS, where they package everything up for you. You are supposed to be PREPARED when you go up to the counter. The USPS does not supply tape to tape up a whole box, it has to be purchased or use the free tape for priority service, but of course many get upset when they are told this. Hope this helps for the other side of the spectrum!”

“I came in to get my passport, previously i made an appointment, and they were fast and efficient. I was super nervous but they made me feel at ease. Staff is very friendly and helpful. I had a great experience. I would recommend this place. You can walk in for a passport but certain days . It’s better if you have an appointment and as long as you have all the paperwork required which i recommend you look online, it would be a smooth process.”

“I just had the most amazing time at the post office. There is this sharp and witty guy that has made my day. Not just with me but with all the people before me. He is like a comedy actor, someone I’ve never seen before. Hollywood needs to hire him or SNL.

“I have been to this palace several times and never had any problems. I see some people complaining about the lunch time and the business hours, here is what people need to understand, this post office is not huge like the other post offices so there’s only one person works for this place since its too small. The lady works in the post office really friendly and helpful, Just approach her with a great smile thats all u need to do.”

“Just avoid the bald guy with glasses, and you’ll be fine. He’s very combative, rude, and seems to be lacking a lot of knowledge of his job. I believe his combativeness comes from being worried about being wrong, which it seemed like he was on 2 occasions there.

The other 2 ladies there were extremely helpful! The passport lady was super kind! And despite the reviews, they are indeed able to handle passport pictures. They were a little behind, but that’s because it was busy and during lunch. The pass port lady was extremely quick, kind, and served with a smile!”

After visiting the office Friday morning the staff went above and beyond to locate my package and get it to me the same day. I mostly just stick to the self-service kiosk, which is really fast if you come here on a weekday in the middle of the day. So this location has a new person working there full time and she is wonderful! She is the beautiful black lady with glasses. Ever since I've seen her work there, this post office is just run that much better. It's amazing what one person can do! Packages are getting scanned on time. Lines move much quicker. And people seem more upbeat as to uptight then when the previous lady worked there. Yes, I know the gentleman with the Panama hat sometimes doesn't seem like he has the best customer service, but he knows what he is doing and he will help you. He also seems a bit more upbeat since the new lady started working there too.

The higher ups maybe listening. This location has gotten better over time. They now have someone out in the lobby during rush hour directing traffic, accepting pre-labeled packages, and answering questions which speeds up everything so much more. They also actually have more then 1 person working the front now too! Thank you for improving and listening.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS LOCATION IF POSSIBLE!!! YOU WILL HAVE A BAD DAY AFTER THE SERVICE YOU GET HERE!! If I could give this location 0 stars I would. The worst post office I have ever been to and it sucks b/c this one is right next to my business. There is always long lines and only 1 person working the front most of the time. The workers at this location seem miserable that they are there.

I tried to drop off 10 packages today and the lady behind the counter (African-American lady, short hair, reading glasses, has been working there for some time now, was not able to get her name) reads the return address and tells me that I have to drop the packages off at the USPS location that services my zip code. Mind you I have dropped off packages at this location before without any problems and to the same lady. I attempted to tell her that this was weird b/c I have dropped off packages here before with the same return address numerous times before. She tells me it is not weird and she would not accept the packages. I have never heard or experienced a post office not accepting packages b/c the return address was not within the boundary they serve. And this location is right next to my business!

Also,there is even a note at the front of the line saying the workers there appreciate a smile and a thank you from their customers. When it was my turn, I smiled, said hello, and asked her how she was. She never once smiled. She never smiles. I always remember her bc she always seems miserable.

I've had bad experiences with this location before where I've waited 30-60 minutes just to drop off packages and get my scan sheet scanned when 1 worker is working the front and there are like 10 people in line. You see other postal workers there and hear them talking, but they don't care if there is 1 person or 10 people, they just don't care and won't help you.

I went to the one on 6500 DeMoss Drive and automatically you can see the difference in the workers attitudes. Everyone at the DeMoss location was smiling and they had 3 people working the front with 1 person working the line to see if anyone is just picking or dropping off packages. This is how it should be done. It just sucks b/c the DeMoss location is 15-20 minutes away from my business whereas this one (Westchase) is like 3 minutes, but I will now go to the extra mile to go this one just to avoid that miserable place they call a post office. Horrible!!

“Been here twice and was initially worried due to other reviews. Not sure if they had a change in staffing or others caught them on a bad day but the two times I've been here the staff has been nothing but nice. On the first visit a staff member or manager came out to apologize about the delay and provided information as to what could and couldn't be done through the self serve kiosk for those wanting to get out faster. Second time was to apply for a PO Box and had no issues with that either.”

“UPDATE: This is still in my opinion one of the better run post offices. I called today about a problem and I actually got someone on the phone who helped me solve my problem. Thank you to the gentleman who helped my on the phone today at around 3:30-4:00 pm, September 16, 2024.

This is one of the better run post offices in my opinion. Went in on July 3rd after they had closed around 5:30PM. I needed to send a couple of packages out that day, but had missed the pickup and drop-off times due to unforeseen circumstances. This post office is one of the bigger locations and there was a gentleman and a lady working in the back employee parking lot sorting the packages to get into the truck. I asked them if I could just drop off the packages and they told me to just go ahead and put it in the box and that it would be taken care of. Thank you to them. The packages arrived safely to its' destination when it needed to. Also there is always multiple people working the front and the times I've gone, they have a person who works the lobby helping people with questions and concerns before standing in line to get helped which speeds up the line and for people who need to drop off packages but would like to get the drop off scan sheet scanned.”

“I went in today to ship out a package for my friend who lives overseas and was in and out quickly despite there being a line at the counter. The woman who helped me was kind and patient as she took the time to make sure my package was in the system and even double checked for me just to be sure! I've been coming to this location my entire life and they have never disappointed me! Everyone is really nice! :)”

“Not sure what’s going on with this office. But I haven’t been told my packages are delivered but I haven’t been receiving them. Kindly enough blaylock came into my mailroom and opened every single box to see if my package was misplace. We weren’t able to find it but appreciate her efforts and dedication to be a helpful problem solving person. She definitely deserves better to be honest. She’s the only reason I’m even giving them 4 stars.”
