“A lot of stores sell skateboards. B&C Surf sells skateboards too. But more importantly… They create skateboarders. Our first experience with B&C started last Christmas when we walked into the shop looking for a board for my son. Dax made such an impression on him. He took the time to answer questions, talk skateboarding, and make him feel like he belonged… not like a customer, but like a future skater. Fast forward a few months and now I’m trying to figure out the right setup for myself. I walked in on a weekend night and found Josh running the shop solo because he had sent much of his crew… Dax, Titus, Payton, Hudson and the gang… to a skate demo. That tells you a lot about the kind of person he is. Good people build good teams. While taking care of a steady stream of customers, answering questions, assembling boards, and keeping the shop moving, Josh somehow found time to walk me through every question I had. All of this with Biz Markie playing in the background and not a beat missed. What stood out most wasn’t the gear. It was the people. Nobody was trying to sell me the most expensive setup. Nobody was pushing products. They were simply trying to get both me and my son on the right boards for where we are today. That sounds simple. It’s surprisingly rare. Last month, Foot Locker Inc. reopened its flagship store at 112 W 34th St. in New York City, as part of new retail plans. The store introduced "Home Court," a basketball-focused shopping area created with Nike and Jordan Brand. The updated store offers a basketball-themed shopping experience. It combines customer service with the newest products for use on and off the court from several brands.
