Fluffy's Pet Shop
1107 Emmet St N, CharlottesvilleWe first came across Fluffys last month when we went to visit Charlottesville for a wine tour weekend. We saw this on the map and knew we had to stop in for our pup. They have beautiful accessories for your pooch and delicious treatos. We were so happy when we noticed we could order them online because our chocolate lab is obsessed with their treats. Great in person customer service and great timely shipping. Highly recommend this store for your pooch.

Pawprints Boutique
201 E Main St B, CharlottesvilleI wish I could give Carrie, and her beautiful store, 100 stars. Carrie was involved in finding our lost dog. After putting up hundreds of flyers, we got a call from Carrie who put together a person who was buying a leash for a dog they found, with us, the desperately searching, heartbroken dog owners. Although a reward was offered, Carrie refused it. While we were in her store, we noticed how welcoming and well-stocked it was, and what great items she carries. It is a great place to find whatever you need for your furbabies. Thanks' to Carrie, we were able to enjoy the holidays with Teddy, instead of anguishing over what might have happened to him. Carrie is an angel. Shop in her store!

Animal Connection LLC
933 2nd St SE, CharlottesvilleCarol and her team have done a great job with grooming my chow chow, Bella. Carol met with a Pennsylvania dermatologist right when I first scheduled with Animal Connection. This vet provided Carol with advice on how to restore my dog's damaged coat (Bella was a rescue that had been shaved due to injuries). Carol has taken the time to really help my dog. Since then, my dog comes out of her appointments with beautiful grooming and as a big of a smile as a dog can muster!

Pawsville Pet Spa
1445 Rio Road East, CharlottesvilleWe’ve been taking our family dogs to Samantha for close to (over??) a decade now and she’s just the BEST for poodle cuts! We have a maltipoo (pictured), a cavapoo, and a miniature labradoodle and after not so great experiences at two spots across town, I was SO glad to find Samantha. She treats our pups with extreme care, listens well to our concerns and cut preferences, and always produces cuts that grow out well!
She preserves their length when she can (ie when I don’t wait too long to take them in and hand over matted messes to her haha). Our pups get excited to see her and are always super happy when we pick them up - which is HUGE, because they’re anxious dogs!
Samantha’s drop off/pickup times are flexible, and her prices are in line with other groomers in the area! I highly recommend her!!!

Monticello Animal Hospital
1193 5th St SW, CharlottesvilleMy sweet cat Hades came to Monticello for some tooth extractions. Dr Anderson and Brittany were amazing!! They clearly studied his records to understand all that he's been through medically and were so kind to him. They provided excellent communication and I was comforted knowing he was in such good hands. Even the scheduler Shanah was great at getting everything in order to limit the stress on him for the procedure. This is a fantastic practice and Im so thankful for every one of them and the care they provide!!

370 Greenbrier Dr, CharlottesvilleThis office is really incredible, so professional and knowledgeable surgeons/vets. Dr. Rudd worked us in same day for a CT scan and surgery first thing the next day. Sadly our 10 year old sweet lab mix had aggressive cancer and only 2 weeks to live. But the phone calls from the doctor, visits and compassion were phenomenal.

Old Dominion Animal Hospital Charlottesville
811 Preston Ave, CharlottesvilleSo I unfortunately only became a part of the Old Dominion family recently when my cat became very ill and my gf brought him there for a second opinion. He had to be put down about two weeks later, obviously being very difficult decision for me to make. Let me tell you the professionalism, care, love, and thoughtfulness of the vet and the staff will make me never go anywhere else. They treated Jackson so well and were so supportive of me during this heartbreaking moment of my life. Just received a support letter today and it was not just some generic letter they send out. It was handwritten and signed by the entire staff and while it made me sad thinking about my buddy, the overwhelming compassion I felt was just what I needed. They even had taken paw prints and nose prints and included those for keepsakes, which meant the world to me. Old Dominion, be proud of what you represent, because you guys are amazing at what you do. Thank you for everything.

Forest Lakes Veterinary Clinic
3440 Seminole Trail, CharlottesvilleAdded a guinea to our family but the little fellow came with horrendous nails which I was a bit uncomfortable trying to trim, especially since they are dark and I couldn't see the quick. They scheduled him in a very timely mannerly and from the moment he and I stepped in the clinic door to leaving was less than 15 minutes. The fee for the trim? Ten dollars. I will certainly let them trim his nails rather than worry about hurting him!

Charlottesville Cat Care Clinic
1901 Seminole Trail, CharlottesvilleI can't say enough about how wonderful the people at Cat Care Clinic are! Everyone is always friendly when I call, and Stacy (Head Technician) is the absolute best! Whenever I email with one of my (many) questions, she writes back that day and is always knowledgeable, optimistic, and good-humored (despite the fact that my cat has been VERY badly behaved at her visits). She recently had surgery with Dr. Mahanes to remove a lump, and Stacy was with me every step of the way, answering all of my questions before surgery and checking in daily during recovery. It was a very stressful time, and Stacy made everything so much easier. She is truly committed and devoted to her work. As for the surgery, Dr. Mahanes did a wonderful job, and my cat is fine now. Knowing that I have both of these woman to count on during the life of my cat eases my mind and heart.

VETSS
1540 Airport Rd, CharlottesvilleMy dog got his foot stuck in a heater floor vent cover and was in a lot of pain we could not get it off at home he was in so much pain he was trying to bite us while we were helping him. I knew he had to go be put to sleep in order to get it fixed. Im living in Louisa and couldnt find any vet that would help but vetts took him right in and got it off within 20 minutes. These people were so kind about everything to deal with my dog hulk getting the care he needed they even cut his toenails (which he never let me do he would bit the trimmers ? ) and they did it for free i expected to be paying close to 1,000.00 for services and they knew i didnt have any money currently (dont judge everyone has had their down moments) and i walked away paying less than 350.00! And now my boy is feeling back to him self it was bad but small incident and i was really upset about it but they were so easy going i instantly felt better when we walked in.
Thank you guys so much for saving his toe and most importantly the hospitality and understanding that was shown ?

Fetch! Pet Care of Charlottesville
1907 Swanson Dr, CharlottesvilleThis is the third time we’ve used FETCH! and every time they have outstanding service. Krista is an excellent dog watcher and she just loves the dogs with her whole heart! She even went above and beyond when she realized we didn’t have a second leash for our second dog so she brought one from home just to be able to give them a walk. That’s the kind of service you don’t get every day.

All Things Pawssible
1201 Stoney Ridge Rd, CharlottesvilleWe desperately needed a daycare that was accommodating to our once shy puppy, and ATP has made him the most confident boy by placing him in a room that suits his energy levels, size, and play style! Our dog is, respectfully, obsessed with us. And yet, as soon as we walk into ATP he is all wags for the workers and wants to sprint into the playroom immediately! We have absolutely loved this place for weekly play dates, and would recommend to anyone.

Canine Campus
440 Westfield Rd, CharlottesvilleI take my dog June to Day Camp every Wednesday, and the fact that she is snoring beside me as I type this, is a testament to the fun she has. Before deciding on Canine Campus, I had looked at two other daycare facilities in town, both of which I walked out saying a big "NOPE", but not Canine Campus. The "Camp Divas" that run the show are intelligent, trained and experienced.I also took one of their puppy classes after we added our newest addition, Zeke, and kicked myself for not booking the others, as they had already filled up. I loved the class structure and methods.I've worked in the animal industry for 20 years from clinics to dog walking, and I'm very particular of who gets to hang with my crew, but the women at Canine Campus put my worries aside. They know what they're doing and they do it right! Junie (and I) appreciate you all so much!!

Bodo's Bagels
505 Preston Ave, CharlottesvilleWe all agreed this was some of the best and freshest bagels we’ve ever tasted. Their authentic New York‑style water bagels are made from scratch every day, boiled and baked right on the premises, giving them a perfect chewy interior and rich flavor you just don’t find elsewhere.
The egg and bacon sandwich we tried was packed with egg and stacked tall with bacon, and it was simply the best breakfast sandwich we’ve ever had—hearty, satisfying, and just the right balance of ingredients. We loved them so much that we ended up buying three dozen bagels to take home.
Bodo’s also offers a ton of bagel flavors and plenty of spreads and toppings so you can build something exactly how you like it. If you’re in Charlottesville and want fresh, flavorful bagels done right, this place should be at the top of your list.
