“It's a very small store, so you'll be in and out (if you're in a hurry). Excellent staff and management. Good view of the train, if it was to come while you are out there...especially if you have kids with you. See a train go pass, up close.”
“They not only have employees you can see they actually help you. I asked a man who was stocking shelves where to find an egg poacher, he said you keep shopping, it's on a hanger somewhere. Within 4 minutes he walked up and handed me one. That's what service is and I truly appreciate all the staff who always have time to answer a question and they know where everything is without looking at a phone. They are awesome. At 63, I know what real service is and they provide it and smile!”

“We stopped for an ice cream cone, ended up also bringing home some garden plants ( pretty flowers, very healthy), and solar lights. The staff is always pleasant and I usually find a plant or three for my back yard. Prices are really reasonable.”
“Just walked in for the first time today. The owner and her staff were so kind, warm and engaging! The produce was priced very well. They carry a selection of meats, pastas, seasonings, etc. specifically Sauers seasonings - which have probably been sold in markets along this strip for the past 100 years. It’s a huge blessing to have this convenient little market right in our neighborhood.
I was ecstatic to find wild pear kombucha from blue ridge Bucha. I used to buy cases of wild pear kombucha from Aldi’s, but they stopped carrying it! I hope that she’ll continue carrying it!”

“It seems that everyone working, either stocking shelves or bagging groceries can direct you to the aisle for any product. Great customer service.
Also, next time you go... treat yourself to their deli fresh food. Publix chicken tenders and popcorn chicken are two of Publix most popular prepared foods. They will also make fresh subs using a variety of high quality deli meats and cheeses.
In general, Publix is my favorite grocery store with so many selections and an extremely helpful and friendly staff. This store did not live up to my expectations.”
“I was in the area showing a house to buyers and found the store for the buyers and I to have lunch in between showings. The place was fantastic and we were not disappointed. I had a barbecue sandwich, he had the double bacon cheeseburger, and she had the BLT chicken salad sandwich. We also got a side of chicken salad and some different Route 66 chips. For dessert we had ice Haagen-Dazs ice cream bars. There was basically no line and it was perfect.”
“I call it the snack shack! They have a wide variety of healthy snacks, locally made sweets, wine, beer, cider and tea and coffee. A great place to pick up gifts!”
“I use the pharmacy at my local Food Lion. The pharmacy employees are always kind and helpful. They even remember my name, which is a nice touch. They offer great advice on medication and keep me up-to-date when they hear from my doctor. However, as a person with a disability, I have trouble when the drive-thru is closed. While I appreciate the pharmacy's assistance, I find the grocery prices at Food Lion too high, so I don't do extensive grocery shopping there.”

“I love this place. It’s down the street from my house and if they don’t have what you need they’ll always recommend something better. I always use the big funnel packs but because they didn’t sell it they got me onto the best grabba. Now i use it religiously. It’s cheaper and it lasts way longer. Everybody is always nice to me. Especially the youngest if they don’t have anything just ask them about it and I’m pretty sure they’ll have it within the next week lol. Best tobacco store in the game. I’m heading there right now :)”

“I have a desire to relocate to Richmond. The first thing I need to know is where to shop my usual groceries. I'm surprised with this Kroger Marketplace in Mechanicsville Virginia. Wow. It was so convenient off the major throughfare. The location was easy to find. Price of my usuals are about the same or less. The sales items are well stocked. Only a few items seemed to be on shortage. That's normal and I get used to.Clothes department really throw me off. They got nice fashion and reasonably priced clothes for the whole family. Customers were friendly. I would return, most definitely.”
“A very nice full service Community Store that’s located in Churchill right on Chimborazo. This grocery store has something for everybody. Nice small produce area, meat dept. has a variety of meat options. The store is very clean, not cluttered, prices are very reasonable. You can find just about anything you want in this store. The associates that work in the store are very helpful and friendly.”

“If you're going to the Mechanicsville turnpike location, avoid the 1st through 9th of the month and try to go before 8pm. Nothing bad will happen to you it just seems to be a lot of people around that time.
Best Food Lion is on Concord Ave or Staples Mill... They have little cups of banana pudding that are d double licious.”

“The Food Lion on Route 301 in Hanover is overall a very nice location. It is clean, well organized, and consistently well stocked, which I really appreciate. Like many places these days, it can be hard to find employees who truly care about their work, but I have met a handful of genuinely kind and helpful employees here — 5 stars to them.
That said, during one visit, I overheard a manager speaking to an employee in a way that was disappointing. The tone felt shame-based rather than supportive or focused on growth. Everyone deserves the opportunity to learn, and conversations that require correction should be handled privately, not in front of others.
What further impacted my experience was the interaction I had with the same manager afterward. While she wasn’t disrespectful toward me, she was very short, appeared inconvenienced, and seemed uninterested in helping. It left me feeling uncomfortable and discouraged.
Outside of that one-off situation, my only other consistent concern is the limited number of checkout lines open at any given time, which can lead to longer waits.
Overall:
5 stars for cleanliness and well-stocked, organized shelves.
3 stars for management interaction.
4 stars for the overall experience.”

“Gorgeous, bright shop in Manchester. Connected to The Continental, this grocery store is a gourmet paradise. Lots of local brands and unusual finds. Loved all the premade entrees and salads. Robust wine selection. You'll find anything you could want for entertaining at your friends' places or just having a special night in at home. There are even fun gifts ideas. Cute place to pop in and treat yo' self!”

“I love this Dollar General. Everyone is pleasant and the store is always stocked. I usually spend 15 minutes or more just looking around. The prices are usually reasonable. I live near several but I will still come to Airport Drive.”
