“I started shopping at ALDI more regularly over the past few months after trying to cut down on grocery expenses, and honestly I was surprised by how much I ended up liking it. At first I assumed the lower prices meant lower quality, but after several shopping trips, that definitely hasn’t been my experience. The first thing I noticed was how fast and simple everything feels compared to larger grocery stores. The layout is straightforward, so I’m usually able to get in and out much quicker instead of wandering around for an hour. Even during busy times, the store still feels more organized and less overwhelming than some major supermarket chains. I mainly shop there for basics like produce, milk, eggs, frozen foods, snacks, and bread, and most of the items I’ve bought have been surprisingly good quality. The produce section especially impressed me because the fruits and vegetables looked fresh and lasted longer than I expected once I got home. I also tried several of their store-brand products and honestly couldn’t tell much difference compared to more expensive name brands. One thing that stood out happened during a recent visit when I couldn’t find a specific coffee creamer. An employee stocking shelves actually stopped to help me look instead of just pointing down an aisle. Small interactions like that make a big difference during busy shopping trips. The checkout process is probably one of my favorite parts because cashiers move incredibly fast, which keeps lines from getting too frustrating. Prices are noticeably lower on many items too, especially compared to nearby supermarkets. The only adjustment was remembering to bring reusable bags and the quarter for the shopping cart, but after a couple visits it became routine. Overall, ALDI has made grocery shopping more affordable, quicker, and honestly less stressful than I expected.”

“This Kroger is so huge with a great selection. The meat and seafood department is the best I've seen anywhere and the availability and quality of sale items were impressive. I've never seen so many oysters, spots and croakers at other stores. I also had some fries from the deli and they were crispy and flavorful but not oily. There is definitely more selection than other Kroger stores.”

“Everything works. I put my card in, and gas comes out of a hose I stick in the side of my car. Then it stops so it doesn't overflow. That would be bad. Love the gas rewards. Never have had to wait here for a pump. Can't say the same about home.”

This pharmacy is 30 minutes from my house, and I still prefer it over anything close to me, because they have been so helpful, proactive, and respectful of me. “They are helpful with questions, but I don’t like how they ask for private information when everyone is around—like medications, birthday, and address. I come in during my lunch breaks and my coworkers are around so I don't really want them to know that info. I also asked for a particular medication, and the pharmacist was a bit rude. We also had the fried pickle appetizer which was good, but the homemade ranch was even better. The atmosphere was a bit loud because it’s a smaller place, but the service was very good. “Kroger is a large supermarket chain that originates from Cincinnati - I've been to one years ago during undergrad, and I felt as if that particular location didn't really represent Kroger's in a way that this location did! They offer a selection in meat, produce, pantry items, frozen items, beer/wine/liquor, seafood, dairy and eggs, has a deli and a bakery section, and also a natural/organic items. Located off of Three Chopt Road in Henrico, the store was well-laid out, clean, and organized. The customer service staff were all friendly and helpful - don't forget to sign up for their rewards program! I found some Mexican Coca-Cola on sale (YAS!) and tried some of their maki rolls (they were just okay). “It's unbelievable the excuses employees make when they don't want to serve you. Today around 5:45PM, my husband and I were in Krogers 9000 staples Mill Road location shopping for lunch items for the upcoming week, so we decided to purchase deli meat packet (the all American pack), but unfortunately they were completely out. I asked for the All American packet. The deli attendant says and I quote" we're out". I asked if she could make one for me as I have times before. To my surprise the attendant then says, I'm here by myself and I don't know how to make it. In my mind I thought it was a joke and she would make it, but this women who works the deli says they are made by the morning shift workers and I don't know how to make it. In my mind I'm saying how do you not know how to make it you work this department. My husband goes to get someone in management, Neil who came to assist with the situation. I explained the deli attendants reply, his face was so priceless. It's only turkey, ham and chees, sure we'll make it for you. We got what we came for, but it's mind boggling what people say and do that makes no sine on any level and to think the meat packets are made in the morning and left out all day. Simply says a lot”

The Cincinnati-based supermarket giant will open about 110 new stores in fast-growing markets by 2029 and introduce three updated store formats, executives told investors Oct. 20 at the company’s Investor Update in New York. Kroger already runs about 2,700 stores in 35 states. The formats come in three sizes, a bit like small, medium and large, matched to each market. Mary Ellen Adcock, Kroger’s executive vice president and chief merchant and marketing officer, walked through the lineup.
Walmart shoppers want a head start on the holidays, and money explains a lot of it. Some 44% of respondents call affording the holidays their top stressor, and 61% say holiday costs shape their shopping mood. Asked what would make the season easier, 70% picked lower prices and 57% picked more deals and promotions. Convenience ranks lower: 30% want one-stop shopping across categories, and 20% want faster delivery.
Walmart wants your groceries at the door before the ice cream softens. On May 29, the retailer said its 30-minute-or-less delivery had reached 33 U.S. markets, adding a wave of new cities across the Northeast. Shoppers in those areas can order from more than 100,000 items, everything from fresh produce and baby formula to pet food, electronics, cold medicine, and prescriptions. Behind the scenes, the service leans on Walmart's store network and an algorithm that factors in order size, available drivers, and distance from the store.
Trader Joe's keeps adding stores, and shoppers keep showing up. The California grocer has marked nine more locations as "opening soon," pushing its expansion into new corners of the country. The grocer also took first place in the American Customer Satisfaction Index's 2026 supermarket rankings. It has held a spot near the top of that list for years.
Target is rolling out its most ambitious store overhaul in more than ten years, with plans to remodel over 130 locations and open 30 new stores across the country this year. The retailer is also putting money into supply chain technology upgrades to keep pace with how shoppers buy today.
