“I was very impressed with the support in reserving a 10X16 storage unit. I did so online and when I had questions I spoke to Doug (Manager) who was exceedingly helpful. When I arrived at the location to begin use of the unit and obtain keys Doug again was most helpful in showing me the unit as well as how to enter the building and my specific unit. I subsequently needed to lease an additional space. Once again Doug was exceedingly helpful. Highly recommend Doug and this franchise.”
“William and the Midlothian staff have been great! He has done a good job of walking me through the process and made my move in day easier. This is the first time I’ve rented a climate controlled unit. I was surprised how warm it was inside the facility, so I’m not sure if that is normal. Otherwise, so far, so good.”

“Very clean and secure facility. Breezeway makes it nice to unload and stay dry when it’s raining. Only complaint is the tight right turn from the security keypad. All in all a great storage facility for a reasonable price.”

“You can't really ding this place for being super hot in the summer and cold in the winter because it does not advertise itself as a climate controlled storage facility. It is a very basic and clean indoor self-storage facility. The paved area next to the dock is on a slight slope which can require a little extra effort when loading and unloading trucks. They have two dumpsters that you can use (no furniture or mattresses naturally) and that turned out to be a very useful benefit. The gates are operational from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. but I found that if you are in the facility after 9 p.m. you can get out. They set me up with an auto-pay option using my credit card so I was never accidentally late with a rent payment.”

“Stopped by the storage unit with a few questions. Met with a kiosk, which is very convenient for current customers to pay or connect with their accounts. A sweet employee named Haley noticed our car and met us in the lot to see if she could help us. She answered all of our questions and was so kind and welcoming. “Blue and Gray is a family controlled environment. Honestly and morality are number one in the running of the storage facility. As a long term renter running a business I was faced with rent changing from month to month at competitors storage groups such as life Storage or Extra Space.( both the same company). Once lured in by big discounts if staying more than a 2 month period your rent can almost double at these facilities.
Promises of a low cost continued for several months told by commissioned on site managers is an untruth told by all facility managers (corporate cashiers). It is far from the truth. I got tired of the fight to keep my rent low having to renegotiate every month. Sometimes having to re-rent and move to another storage building to keep my rent low at the facility. At Blue and Gray the managers live on site and are not controlled or commissioned by a corporate office in some other state. At Blue and Gray you meet real people who are there to help - not corporate commissioned managers that have no real control.
Out of all in the Midlothian, Chesterfield VA area Blue and Gray gives a rental agreement and sticks with it. No yo-yo billing or confusion on what your next bill will be.”
