They literally have everything you need---towels, shampoo, conditioner, ear wipes, various types of brushes, crates, blowdryers at the tub, and a separate blowdrying station. Just to make it even better, the employee on duty was an actual angel. She was friendly and knowledgeable, but she also was attentive to my dog. I have a senior dog who rushed down the steps and felt on the floor. She couldn't get up, and while I was in shock, the employee lept into action and made a sling for me with a towel. She escorted my baby to the cash register while I gathered my things and gave her a treat to help her feel better. I will 3000% be back, and be more diligent in guiding my dog down the stairs (she's perfectly fine btw).

I have a puppy that I am trying to transition to a more high-end food and Petco just didn't have the brands I was looking for. This PetSmart has a great variety of Merrick, Instinct, Natural Balance and Wellness brands and now carries the Bobby Flay "Nacho" food line, which previously you could only get online. I feel like they usually have what I need whether it be for my turtle, cats or now our new puppy, Wilma.

A year ago, I moved out of state and started taking my dog to Petsmart for grooming services, afte picking my dog up from her 1st visit, within 5 minutes she had a seizure. Took my dog back 6 weeks later for a 2nd appointment and she had a 2nd seizure after picking her up. Took her to the doctor where they did bloodwork which came back negative, the doctor suggested that seizures were brought on because she was having bad anxiety while at Petsmart. My dog is back in Richmond for a short stay with my daughter and had a grooming appointment with Stacy yesterday and to my surprise there was no issues and no seizure which she never had prior to Petsmart. I would recommend Stacy and her team to anyone that Love their 4 leg furry pet. I am on the search for a new groomer that provides the same level of exceptional services as to what I received here. I already miss the staff.

It is a 'no frills' place but my dog doesn't need a pool or gym equipment. She needs a loving staff and plenty of dogs to play with. It is affordable and they will even bath her and trim her nails for me. She goes to daycare 2 days a week. Because she has so many positive interactions there, she was comfortable being boarded for a few days.

When we tell her it’s time to go to daycare or boarding, she gets her harness and runs to the front door with it and waits there until it’s time to go! When we drop her off, she gets so excited she can barely even contain herself and immediately runs over to the staff to give them hugs and kisses and everyone working is always so thrilled to see her. And since she has such bad anxiety, this is always really nice to see. I always feel comfortable leaving after drop off and always feel heart warmed by how happy she is to see all the staff and how happy they are to see her too! And on top of that, they have excellent prices!! I couldn’t recommend Dog’s Day Inn enough!!

1007 Pump Rd, RichmondCan't say enough good things about this office. Dr Jay went out of his way to help Rascal feel comfortable. After severe trauma from anesthesia 7 years ago, my cat typically is nightmare to take to an office. We had our first visit last December and all of the staff made a point to get down on the floor with him, engaging very gently. The staff were very encouraging to me to hold him for procedures and listened to my suggestions of what helps him cope well. As a result they got all the tests, labs, and exams they needed. We went back yesterday for sedated dental work and again it went incredibly smoothly. The tech offered to me to stay with him during the sedative injection and while it took effect, while properly preparing me for what I would observe if I chose to do so. She came back frequently to check both on him and me before then taking straight to the procedure table. Procedure went very well, he was back home within two hours of sedation, and by the evening was 100% back to his normal sassy self. Thank you colonial!
Update jan 2026- colonial continues to be amazing with both of our cats! I appreciate that everyone takes the time to hear me out and treat me like a partner in their care. The plan is always customized to their unique needs instead of a one size fits all approach

4 N 4th St #305, RichmondCarl is great at reading a dog and its environment and knowing how to approach training for that specific scenario. He taught us how to apply all of the training to our two young dogs and they have significantly improved! I was very much worried about taking them to my mom's house since she has a dog and I really didn't know how it would go between the three of them. We let them meet off leash in the fenced in yard and then were able to bring them inside. Having a solid "place" command was crucial to this! They were able to place in their beds in the living room while the dog whose home it was was able to continue his normal behavior. This led to a happy visit!Thank you for teaching us that it is possible to have happy and calm dogs in any situation. I am currently beefing up on the off leash portion of the training and am well equipped with the knowledge to do so thanks to this training program.Thanks again!

they also have great grooming services! she has been groomed from a face trim to a full body and each time has been great.
she loves being here and it gives her the time play with other dogs and keep her social. while she seems to have unlimited energy, she definitely snoozes hard after a day here (which is great for me).
they also offer live cams to check on your dogs while they are here. i haven’t used them yet, but am excited to do so soon.

Unfortunately, my sweet baby was taken from me 9-29-25. My husband found Caring Pet Cremation. We were able to take her and she was placed lovingly into a basket while we handled the paperwork and details. He was very caring and sympathetic throughout the entire process. It was a fast turnaround and her pawprints and nose print is detailed perfectly. There was alot of love given while preparing her bag for pickup. I am so grateful for finding him!
