“My mom and I went to the Newport News location for the very first time. Although it was a holiday weekend and the store was very busy, everything was in order and easily accessible. Besides the free taste testing the customer service was top tier. Our cashier Lauren at store 0656 knew it was our first time and took such great care of us, with a SMILE. She made our experience wonderful, we look forward to more visits. Oh and they also have a great selection of food. We will be back. Thank you Lauren!”
“found this place on tiktok so i had to see it for myself.. to say the least, that was the best idea i had!! such an amazing selection of japanese meals that it really gives you a little taste of japanese culture! the owner is so precious too! he taught me how to eat an onigri at home and it was absolutely DELICIOUS!! i will absolutely be visiting frequently!”
“This place is AMAZING! The selection is second to none, the staff are super kind and friendly (they do speak English but it can be little hard to understand them but they keep trying with patience until you understand ❤️), and they even have kitchen ware (from dining utensils to stock pots). They have lots of fresh produce, and an enormous selection of meats/fish! They have everything from silky chickens to ducks and everything in between. Their snack aisle has a huge selection (im in love with their seaweed snacks ? and spicy prawn crackers). Everything is reasonably priced too! They even sell sandwiches ? and i speak from experience when i say, they are delicious! -although im not sure what kind it was lol ( some type of pork sandwich)
If you’re a fan of asian foods/snacks, this place is an absolute must to visit! 10/10 best asian market around.”
“Can’t say enough good things about this place. Best cucumber kimchi I’ve ever had! I drive over an hour for the cucumber kimchi and always pick up a few extra goodies while I’m there. The gimbap at the register is always a good snack for the ride home.”
“The best little store in the area! Best Of British carries my most favorite candy bar on the planet-Cadbury Crunchie. British candy is just so much better in quality than ours. They sell several different candies, chocolates, teas, snacks & things for the house. We go to purchase Crunchies, candy bar called Flake. We buy Bisto, Oxo, & another favorite of ours is Birds custard. Especially before Christmas to put on our plum puddings. It’s a tiny store but they carry everything that we need. They’re friendly, knowledgeable, & welcoming. Even the customers are friendly. We have chatted many times or banter back & forth. Usually it’s about how young we are or chat about the items that we have in our hands or vise versa. We like to go a few times a year since it’s a little bit of a drive but well worth it. We would be absolutely devastated/lost if this store didn’t exist. If you’re reading the reviews trying to decide to go, I’m here to tell you that you must pop in. Go to browse at the very least. But I’m telling you that if you do purchase anything, you will not be disappointed.”
“Akhtar is truly the greatest chef of all time. I’ve been coming to Kabul Supermarket for a long time, and his cooking is the main reason I keep coming back. Every dish he prepares is full of flavor, made with care, and always tastes like a special homemade meal.
Today he made fish for me, and I can honestly say it was the best and yummiest fish I have ever eaten in my life. Perfect seasoning, cooked beautifully, and incredibly fresh. You can really tell how much pride he puts into his food.
The store itself always has great halal options, but Akhtar’s food takes the experience to another level. The hospitality, the consistency, and the quality keep me coming back again and again. If you want amazing food and outstanding service, this is the place to go. Highly recommended.”

In my personal opinion I give it 5 stars for the way they serve you. If you need a shipment or check collection or something in particular, this store will be your best option. If you ask about Patricia, she is one of the best employees, she will make you feel comfortable and, above all, in an atmosphere.”

“I have enjoyed coming here recently to look for sale items because those are very good deals. The crab cakes are top of the line compared to all other grocery stores in the area because it is pure crab meat no bread or imitation crab. I end up spending more than I would like but I guess that's the point ?
One thing which I would like to see is a scale by the hot bar, they charge by the pound when you are picking your food choices but you have no way of knowing how much is in your container until you are paying for it unfortunately. The closest scale is on the other side of the store.”

Produce that rivals some farmers markets. And this is consistent across all the Lidl stores they are clean! Well organized, and if you like something. “I've been going to the Food Lion at the Hidenwood Shopping Center for years. Their prices are competitive, the store is clean and their selection adequate. However, their main attribute is the staff. They're always friendly and very customer centric. So much so, I've gotten to know many of them by name. Having said that, I'd like to share an observation that I had a couple of Sundays ago.
While standing in line to check my groceries, I was behind an elderly customer. The cashier, 'Evony', was running the cash register. When it was time for the elderly customer to pay, she produced a large amount of change. The customer appeared to struggle a bit counting the change and was quite apologetic for it. Evony didn't miss a beat. She helped the customer count out her change and apply the correct coupons while telling her it wasn't a problem at all. Evony's smile, kind demeanor and patience touched my heart to such a degree, I wanted to share the moment.

“Harris Teeter is a well managed grocery store. It's clean and the shelves are always well stocked. The employees are very friendly and there to help you with your needs. You can find a wide variety of products at a fairly reasonable price. They have an exceptionally good meat and sea food department worth visiting while you shop.”

“Kroger points are a good deal. I saved $1.00 a gallon on this visit from grocery shopping and earning points. The gas station is very large and plenty of space. Pumps are always in good working order. The place is clean and organized. Regular price is often .10 higher than other places but the points make up for that.”
