“Malbon Bros is a convenience store and BBQ place with a car wash. They are located at the corner of Culver Ln. and General Booth Blvd. There is a traffic light at that corner, and you can enter from northbound General Booth Blvd. or westbound on Culver Ln. My visit here was on August 18, 2026.
The outside if the place isn't hard to find. You can see the pigs on the walls of the building exterior. The overall theme from the outside is definitely of barbecue place. Once you come inside, it has more of a feel as a convenience store. At the back of the store is where you can order food. They have from breakfast through dinner there.
My mom was here with me, so we both looked over the electronic menu to decide what we wanted to get. We both decided to go with different platters. My mom decided to go with the Beef Brisket Platter with Coleslaw and Macaroni and Cheese as the sides. I decided to go with the Chicken BBQ Platter with Baked Beans and Macaroni and Cheese. The overall process is pretty easy. After ordering, they give you the receipt to go pay at the checkout counter up front. You just show the receipt that it was paid before you can pick up what you ordered. The platters also come with 4 large hushpuppies and a 20 oz drink (I still only do water). After about five to ten minutes, the food was ready and we headed home to eat.
Once we got home, the food was still hot. The food looked good too. It was time to eat. There were a few small serving size bbq sauces in there, but we ended up not needing them. The chicken bbq was really good. The flavor of the chicken and bbq sauces already in it complemented each other well. Although they were a little crunchy, the hush puppies were good too. The baked beans and the macaroni and cheese sides really hit the spot for me that evening. My mom really liked the foods she had too, and I also got to try some of the beef brisket, and that was so good too. It was nice and tender.
Overall, this was a great experience. The staff were very friendly and helpful. For those that may not know, the business will be closing as of September 1, 2026 as the owners take a well deserved retirement. One thing to note is that some food items will no longer be available once they have finished the current supply they have. The convenience store portion has plans to be rebuilt and will become a Seven Eleven, while the car wash will become part of the Autobell Car Wash group. If you have a chance to come in and support the business before they close on September 1st, please do.”
“I like shopping at Harris Teeter. The staff is always friendly. The prices are fair. The discount on gas is a lifesaver nowadays. And they have hard to find specialty idems.”
“Stopped in for a quick run. Store is surprisingly clean compared to others in the area. Floors polished and aisles weren't cluttered with pallets which is rare. Used Walmart Pay at self checkout and it was seamless. No waiting for an attendant to clear errors. Stock levels are solid, didn't see many empty spots on shelves. Parking lot is massive but layout makes it easy to get in and out from VA Beach Blvd. Honestly this feels like a tier one location for the brand. Solid choice if you need basics without the usual headache.”

It has bike rental after 6pm when most places are closed. Single bikes and family bikes. The owner did a great job at picking the ride size for the kids and maintaining the bikes. 100% Recommend!”

“This is the best 7-11 in the 757. Hands down, no argument accepted.
They have everything a premium 7-11 offers. Clean bathrooms. Not expires food. The hot food is hot and not expired. The staff is nice because the staff are all neighborhood people and we see them outside of the store in the nearby restaurants and the grocery stores.
The place is freaking CLEAN. They spend a lot of time cleaning. You regularly see the owner, THE FREAKING OWNER, cleaning drink stations.
It's a family business and the family is committed to providing a good shopping experience.
This is the best 7-11 in the 757.

“I’ve been going here for the past 3 yrs randomly and never had a problem but today I asked for assistance in getting a alcoholic beverage and I assumed because there was a lock on the door that I needed assistance. So after I ask and the beautiful young lady got my beverage, she proceeded to ask if I assume ppl are supposed to fetch my things? I just replied that in ny when there’s locks on the fridge the clerk has to open to give you the items 🤷🏽♀ again, I have never experienced problems at this location til today”

“Amy is the Pharmacist and she is very knowledgeable. She answers all of my questions and I always have them. She knows my medication’s and my conditions by heart, it seems.
My doctor gave me a prescription for a new medication and I was worried about it. Amy explained everything about the medication, what it does and what it is used for, as well as the side effects. She answered all of my questions and I left feeling confident.

Even when they are PACKED, the atmosphere is still warm and friendly. The staff knows how to MOVE AND GROOVE! 👏🏾 They keep everything flowing, get people in and out, and I’ve never experienced an unnecessarily long wait here.

“I visit this location of 7-11 every day M-F usually very early in the morning. Mary and Peter are fantastic. They ALWAYS have the place looking GREAT!!! The coffee area is usually spotless… They keep that area looking really good. They CONSISTENTLY have the items well stocked and organized. Both are friendly and treat me and all the customers with respect and kindness. I look forward to starting my day with them almost every day that I go into the office from home. I’ve been a customer longest with Mary but Peter is a good person also. Mary needs a big raise and more hours of her choosing. The owners should allow great employees to have more say in their schedules… These owners are very lucky to have such great workers. Mary and Peter are awesome!!! Give them a big raise…!!!”

“By far the best 711. No where near dirty! Bathrooms, soda machines and slurpee machines are always sanitized and clean of sticky mess. Most employees are the bomb except for the recent few who couldn't keep up with work flow and constant customers and ended up walking out. So unprofessional but glad to have the ones there still, now. Love this 711!”

“Neat and clean. This is the military equivalent to 7-11. The cashiers are always very nice. If you have base access, this is a great place to grab a snack and watch the ships or the lighthouses. They have cold sandwiches (microwave available) or make yourself a hotdog, last time I made one the chili sauce was pretty good.”
“This is a large strip center on the north side of Virginia Beach Boulevard, just west of it's intersection with Lynnhaven Parkway.The variety of businesses is extremely good. Next door to the Sentara Therapy Center is a bakery featuring cupcakes & more. Leaving therapy I watched a man get into his vehicle with a container holding a beautiful variety of decorated cookies. At the opposite end is a great sandwich spot that my employees loved for lunch when we were still in business.Making up the wonderful mix of stores is a Pet Hospital, Pet Groomer, Yoga Studio, Window Treatment Store, Insurance Agency, Sports Collectibles, Sign Shop, Sports Collectibles, Car Audio/Video, Violin Store, Pizza, Foot Salon, National Guard Recruiting Center, Pilates & much more. It even houses the Frame & Art store I frequented for years when it was a different location. I'm glad to find it again. I think I'll stop for a framing repair today.There's really something for everyone in this well maintained, centrally located center.”
