“I could spend all day in this store. It's local, community-centered, and they have everything you're looking for plus many things you didn't know you needed ? You can even take a break in the little food court. My favorite is the Mediterranean place. But back to books. Buy them!”
“Overall great store for MTG players, tabletop gamers and comics fans.Exceptionally helpful and knowledgeable staff. Simply put- They just get it, and they just do things right. Every one of the dozens of times I have purchased something, usually singles, it has been a fantastic experience among multiple different staff members. Thanks yall!Wednesday night commander usually fills the place. You can easily go solo and find a game within minutes if you do things appropriately. Just sit and wait or ask around.Ofcorse it's downtown Seattle and prices are a bit higher, but they also have some great deals. If the prices and prize support were a bit better, I would give them 5 stars, even 6 stars if I could. But again I don't fault them for it. Retail rent is expensive in Seattle, and its not the most lucrative type of business. Don't get me wrong the prices are fair, just a lil bit higher than most shops I go to outside of the city.I would love to see the pauper and modern event turn out increase a bit. I wish I could make it more often myself. Players, let's make it happen!”
“I am so grateful for the friendly, helpful staff at Bellevue Half Price Books. I brought 3 big batches of books in for my friend who is moving. They were heavy and each time, a staff member offered to help me. Every step was made easy. Special thanks to the manager, I think her name is Leanne, (hope I got that right). She is a real Jewel!”

“The wonderful curation at this bookstore keeps me coming back. I have found so many lovely gems I may have never done otherwise at their themed recommendation tables in the front. The employees have great taste, and seem super passionate about the store and the books they're selling. This is absolutely my bookstore of choice.”
“Still the best book store with a café in the North end. The café is great. There is a place to sit and read. I'm spending more money on periodicals now and B&N has a great section.”
“I do enjoy the layout of this store vs their other chain stores. Has quite a charm. Their role playing books are heavily overpriced in this area unfortunately so its more of a whole priced books really. Record selection is great but smaller than most.”
“It's bold having a brand new bookstore one store down from a used bookstore, but somehow Half-Price Books and this Barnes & Noble have lived in harmony for over two decades. It effectively gives you the chance to get a book selection from official publishers or a book selection that's a total lottery. These days, I find myself walking out of B&N here with something just as often as Half-Price, if not a little more. The store's layout is cozy and has nice sized sections, including entire corners for things like Manga and horror that often get a single shelf elsewhere. The prices are obviously steeper at B&N, but they entirely lack the sticker Half-Price puts on the covers of their books. Staff can sometimes be a little sparse, but they're always great service when they're around. Occasionally some weirdo will sit down and eat their lunch in there, despite it being a bookstore without a café of any kind, but that's about as intense and crowded as the atmosphere gets. It's a really good, lowkey place, especially given it's sitting right next to another bookstore.”
“Tis good. Tis great. Especially for an on the go. Just wish they had more vegan options or took the final step and went all the way vegan. I mean, technically, they could. Updated from previous review on 2026-03-24”
“This is such a great bookstore! They have a wide variety of topics, all excellently stocked. The staff is super helpful as well! There is a great cafe/restaurant connected to the bookstore that you should definitely check out during you're visit! I would recommend the Chai!”
“I stop by here on occasion to look for their varied selection of incense and oils, and the staff is incredibly kind and friendly every time. There is one man with long gray hair who occasionally works the cashier who's always a joy to talk to whenever I come in. I remember coming in wearing a NiGHTS Into Dreams shirt once and he was fascinated by it and asked who the character on it was. I'm going to miss this place when I leave.”
“Great staff, all very friendly and considerate.
I had one employee go out of his way to get me a few volumes of a book I wanted. Even after I told him not to worry about it, he caught up to me with the books in hand!”
“There is so much stuff here, I don't even know where to start!! But the staff is always ready to help you find that perfect thing that you didn't even know you were looking for!”
“Was hunting down some Paul Desmond and after searching every other shop, Matt had like 5 copies of different albums. Great selection, and my favorite place to trade in records. Super fair and personable.”

“Absolutely LOVE this place!!!! One of the best bookstores ever and the library is even better. The younger guy working the library was such a bright lovely light and made my visit there so amazing. He was friendly and told me all the history of the shop as well gave me a brochure for the classes and workshops there are. Can’t say enough about the experience i had here, highly recommend, love the staff, love the book collections, love the tarot collections. They have it all! 10/10”

“It's a good comic book store. There are lots of items to look at, and a good collection of back stock comics at decent prices. My only gripe, they won't let you look thru the silver age boxes behind the counter. They respond with, "What are you looking for in particular?". When I just want to see what they have, maybe find something worth buying. Other than that. It's a good store!”
“Great hidden gem bookstore right next to Cowen Park. The books in the store are organized by vibes rather than genres! It’s so cute and has a huge selection of books for all ages, gifts, stickers, cards, umbrellas, games, puzzles, etc. Owner is so sweet and has great recommendations. Comfy chairs + whole table for reading/chatting. Would recommend for anyone who loves bookstores, gift shops, or just needs to kill some time around U-District/Roosevelt!!”
“The staff was super friendly and helpful! Interesting history behind the taxidermy birds. They have educational kits you can borrow for outreach or homeschool programs. There is also a gift shop. Parking on the street in front from 10-3 or paid parking across the street in the mall parking garage.”
“The University book store is an extremely nice University book store. Very well kept with an amazing variety of student study need supplies and an amazing, very helpful staff. Love this store.”

“I don't even think the photos or the website does this place justice, it's really impressive and worth the trip. Saw all kinds of woodpeckers including Pileated and Downey and just in general enjoyed the boardwalk. Will be going back!”
“This was my go-to for resources for nearly 30 years ago, and now I'm coming back for fun stuff for my GRANDS!! It never gets old! I still love shopping here (regardless if they homeschool or not) - its always a treasure hunt!!”
“Barnes and nobles is a great place to find the books that you are looking for. There is a Starbucks inside Barnes and nobles. The staff is friendly and they offered super small size coffee/ some kind of drink today while I was in the store.”
“Such warmth when you step in the door! For only 400 square feet, they pack in as much variety as they can, and are quick with a special order for a title they don’t have on hand. Love visiting!”
“Amazing vollection of movies! One of the few places that has a good amount to look through. The staff was excellent and quite patient with my dad's wuestions. He is quite the movie collector! Love this place”
“Overall, a great book store. The person working the counter was very knowledgeable and nice. While their collection is beyond impressive. Lots of Russian books from fiction to history to philosophy. It's a great place for anyone interested in books. Highly recommend.”

“If you are interested in spirituality grounded in reason, practicality, and ethics taught by an order of Monks who practice what they preach, you will feel comfortable here. Vedanta comes from an ancient spiritual tradition and offers classes and instructions in the four yogas which include how to meditate, work with purpose, think philosophically, and love a high ideal.”

“Such a warm, cozy and lovely bookstore with a really sweet and inviting owner! Great variety of brand new and gently used books, featuring new releases, classics and a wide range of genres! Was so glad to find just the book I was looking for (The Kite Runner) at such a steal, and I really loved the warm cozy ambience of this place, with 2 huge armchairs right at the entrance perfect for reading ☺️Travelled 45 minutes to Kirkland for this bookstore and would definitely recommend! Please do support this local mom and pop store and keep them running and providing great reads for the community for a long time Noticed that they also have a book club which meets every second Tuesday of the month at 6.30PM, for anyone looking for community events and discussions ☺️”

“Very blessed college and neighborhood. God is here, and God is with you. You can go to one of the churches right after classes. Wonderful location and wonderful people.”
“Wanderlust is exactly what people mean when they say shop local and support independent local bookstores. The staff is knowledgeable and welcoming and contributes positively to the community in a variety of ways. Online shopping through bookshop.org can support their shop too, and they can help shoppers access audiobooks too. As a local self-published author, I love that they support writers and creators like me too!”
