“Clean and spacious gas station. Competitive prices on fuel especially if you shop for groceries there! Wish they sold gift cards at the gas station!!! Friendly associates and you can get upto 35 gallons of discounted gas instead of 25 at safeway!!! Get your gas here!! If you have a ton of gas rewards the pump will let you chose what discount to apply!!! Pretty awesome!”

“This store is our favorite among the three Albertson's/Safeway store in town. Strong store management shows in almost every detail. That's impressive since many decisions made by the corporate owner in Idaho and ITS owner, a private equity company in NYC (that's been unsuccessfully trying to unload the supermarket chain for years) seems to do their best to turn away customers for reasons I can only surmise, The rigid control they maintain on the items they choose to stock in the store results in us having to go to another chain supermarket in town that stocks a wider variety of goods.

All that being said, this store offers a wider selection of goods than either of the two Safeway stores in town (although each one of those sells a few products this Albertson's doesn't). And from our experience with cashiers (including a store manager who regularly mans a checkout line) and courtesy clerks/baggers, the employees here are extremely friendly and they work fast. You can have a fun conversation with a checker and they won't slow down or stop working while they chat.

The store's large, brightly lit and attractive. There frequently seems to be changes in shelves design and moving products around to different locations but it's also interesting to see where store management is going with it. The produce here is uniformly better than the other two stores and its meat and bakery offering in match or in some ways surpass the other two as well.

However, WA state is suing Albertson's, alleging that from 2019-2024 it's BOGO deals are deceptive by the chain overcharging on those items leading up to the BOGO sales. So, now we're back at the corporate owners doing what they can to mess with customers. That makes me wish Cerebrus would unload the chain to a decent owner who would clean house with the Idaho corporate management.”

“The staff was really nice and service was great, they had just what I needed for a pickup that was overheating. I did see a couple men that probably don't like me because they suffer from anxiety issues over laughing and hurt me when I was a kid, Dolan & brayburnson. They probably talk bad about me, Cody, but I've done nothing to anyone in this whole state, or anywhere else. Let it go people! Be polite to everyone. You never know when it may help someone having a bad day, YOU could be a cheeror rather than a irksome individual. It ain't my fault, or anyone else's. Being nice is what the adversary hates the most, and glaring a stare isn't helpful neither...,”

“The new owners are the nicest guys, they give us a warm welcome every time we stop in. We live in the neighborhood and it’s so nice to have a corner store in this little community again, and its location next to the ferry couldn’t be more convenient. They’ve got a little bit of everything, including beer and wine!”

“We rarely shop this store anymore because we prefer another Safeway closer to our home. However, that store didn't have a brisket flat--or any brisket--which is what I was in the market (literally) for.

Anyway this 5-star rating is for the butcher who not only was extremely friendly and helpful but gave me some info I'd never heard or read elsewhere. All we remember was that he was tall, had blondish-brown hair and wore glasses.

I usually smoke my own beef jerky using sliced top round 'London Broil", and I smoke my own bacon from sliced pork belly. This wonderful butcher told me that he knows folks who not only make smoked beef jerky from brisket but make bacon from the point or the round. Ironically, he didn't own a smoker so he at times he confused the two parts of a beef brisket (and confused me as well).

But it was all knowledge I didn't have before and it also gave me summer project to schedule. He also asked me to come back and tell him how the bacon turned out after it's done. Darn but I wish I'd have asked him his name. But the most important thing was that he handed me a gorgeous brisket flat at the weight I'd requested.

Anyway, great customer service with added value always rates five stars with me. We may not shop that Safeway again for awhile but I will be going back to the meat department to find that butcher and give him a sample of my handiwork. And yes, I'll buy more meat from him. He's an example of what I've always maintained: make friends with a butcher in the meat department. You'll always get service above and beyond because in the end, it motivates you to buy more meat. I've amended this to also include making friends with a produce manager or clerk, and become really good chums with at least one cashier.

Because I've made a point of the latter, checkout time is party time for my wife and I and our favorite cashiers. And that actually makes grocery shopping fun.”

“The gas keeps my pistons going up and down , the breakfast sandwiches are better than Mc donalds, hot of the grill ,the guy will special make any breakfast sandwich, but the old lady is grumpy.”
