“Came in yesterday looking for some pants. Owner and staff very helpful in setting everything up, made sure I had everything. Sofa by the change room is a bonus. A tad bit pricey (not exactly goodwill or value village prices) but good quality items, some rare finds/hidden gems. Overall quite satisfied, might stop here again.”

“Every time I come into the store, I leave with one item minimum. The girls in here are spectacular; they always make me laugh and they always boost you up. Also, they have amazing fashion sense; you can ask them.They're brutally honest. They'll tell you either to take it off and find something for you or tell you you need to get it..
I have been looking for knee-high boots for the last two and a half years, and these girls sold me in it and just said you need to buy it now.
They took my jacket with ease and said it was in great condition. If you have any high-quality designer items, I definitely suggest you go.”

“The first time I went I was shocked because of its change from fifteen years ago at its old location . This is the type of consignment place - boutique with high standards. I bring bags in knowing a rare few items get chosen when I do . I was happy they chose some hand stitched embroidered jeans I worked hard on . I find the staff kind and helpful and the air is always so crisp and fresh and cool inside no matter how hot it is out .”

▪ No issues experienced at this location.
I know the same lady (Susan Griffith) owns Platos Airdrie, Calgary South & Calgary Northwest, so my summary for all 3 is:
PLATOS SOUTH:
▪ Excellent, clean & organized store
▪ Awesome, Friendly Employees.
▪ Prices are mostly reasonable
PLATOS NORTHWEST:
▪ Dirty, messy store & inventory (even dog poop on bottom of one pair of shoes)
▪ Holes worn right thru soles of shoes they want $40, $65 for. 🤯
▪ Rude, conceited employees (not all of them tho)
▪ Most items are Overpriced!
PLATOS AIRDRIE:
▪ VERY Clean, Organized store
▪ Most items are in good condition and clean
▪ Had good selection of clearance items
▪ Employees were SUPER friendly and helpful. Great atmosphere here.
▪ Prices are mostly reasonable”
“I really enjoy shopping at this store. All the staff are very helpful and kind but i especially want to thank the tall lady. My mother is quite elderly, and she often checks in her to see if she needs help picking up her items. She is always so kind and thoughtful, and we truly appreciate her support.”
“I had several bags of items I was looking to sell. I visited all 3 YYC locations and was treated the kindest and my items were cared for the best from this location. Of my 5 bags of items the store purchased $75 worth of items and when I asked what they were paying for each of the 7 pieces I was very satisfied with what they were paying and what they said they were listing for. Of course we turned that $75 into store credit because my teenagers found great items for excellent prices - my son a pair of brand new airforce 1s for $35!- the individual helping us was kind and courteous and looked through the bags when handing them back to make sure the items were put neatly back in the bag. She asked us to hold onto the items and try again in 4-6 weeks because she said there were many great items In the bag but just not items they were needing in the store at this time but would likely be items they would be wanting to buy in the coming months. She indicated 2 or 3 pieces that should be donated because of wear/ stain but she was kind and courteous and informative. I highly recommend this location and I believe the Elbow drive location is the same owner. It is our second favourite to visit but this varsity location went the extra step to be kind and informative in a respectful way and their prices were extremely reasonable and more reflected those of “secondhand stores” …. Worth the visit.”

“I've made quite a few purchases from the Tack Collector ranging from $50 in grooming supplies to $500 for tall boots and I've received the same excellent customer service every time! Every shipment has been packaged and sent off to me within hours of them receiving my payments.
I'm all for buying used when I can so I appreciate how in-depth and accurate the listings are on their website. I know exactly what I'm getting, whether there's going to be a tiny snag on a saddle pad or a missing aglet on a boot lace. Every parcel I've received has been carefully packaged and even while buying liquid products I've never had a leak.
The staff are always SO friendly both over the phone and through email - this is the kind of business I want to give my money to rather than a big retailer. I always look forwarding to browsing the website for unique goodies whenever I'm in the market for something specific!”
