“I have shopped here for almost 20 years. Val who runs this business is friendly, outgoing, and great at giving honest feedback when I am undecided about how an outfit looks on me. Often, the clothes that I have purchased still have the retail store tag (where they were originally bought by the cosignor) on them. Over the years, I have consigned many of my clothes because what I like is the clothes that don't sell Val donates to the women's shelter.”

I contact the store about an item listed on their website and they immediately replied with more information and assistance. Connie sent extra pictures with the item styled in an outfit and holding it to show dimensions.Once purchased, I had to update my mailing address and she made sure the changes went trough. I even got a video of my item being packed so that so I knew it would arrive safe and sound! Shipping was expedited, and upon receiving my item it was in excellent, exactly-as-decribed-but-better, condition. Connie even included a handwritten note and some small goodies to make it extra special. It's the little touches like this that make me feel valued as a client!If you're looking to find high quality designer goods at incredible prices, shop local, and support women-owned businesses, then this is the place for you. “I’ve consigned here for a few years now and appreciate that they’ve taken out the hard work for me to resell my items. As previous reviewers have stated, they do cater to more of the high end items and are very selective of what they will consign. You can find some very unique clothing and shoe items if you take the time to browse their racks. Some of it is exquisite!!It’s a relatively simple process to consign. Make sure all your items are laundered and hung on a hanger. They will go through all your items and pick which ones they choose to consign, then return the items they reject to you. Wait a couple of months, call them to see if they have a balance for you and they will cut you a cheque. If you have beautiful items sitting in your closet that no longer serve you, get them to Vespucci and consign them! Staring at valuable handbags, accessories and shoes that you no longer use can be so upsetting knowing that someone out there would love to have them and make good use of them.”

“My favorite thrift store. Staff is very friendly and helpful and it's always the same staff so you know they are happy to work here and it makes for a great atmosphere to shop in. The items are well looked over so that nothing broken or damaged is on the shelves. Great sense of community as even other shoppers will talk to you and give you opinions on items you are considering! Keep up the great work! I’m always able to find trendy brands. I would say they’ve gotten a tad pricier recently, but most pieces are still worth the price tag.”

“I was at the store when the so called cone incident happened to the guy who left. 1 star rating. He parked in the Clotheshorse loading spot and then unloaded his children stuff and took it to the kids store. They have their own loading zone and he should not have parked where he did. The store person came out when I left and saw the cone knocked over and was putting it on his hood to see it when he came back from wherever he was shopping which was NOT unloading consignment product for ClothesHorse as the big sign stipulates. So he was in the wrong ! I left so don’t know the rest but that spot is essential to customers of Clotheshorse often unloading a lot of product. They are a great store, most helpful, nice and I have never been there when it is empty of customers. SO don’t pay attention to. 1 star rating. It is a great consignment store and always something great to find and buy.”

“A lot of good items specially purses, artwork, lamps, glasses, jars Etc are great. Some of the clothes and jackets are worth exploring as few are actually new. The staff is very helpful and can provide you with a cardboard box if you do not have a bag, for free.But in general Salvation Army needs more donation from people as they are in shortage of good quality stuff in good conditions. Some of the prices need to be lowered so that items can be bought easily, for example plastic tupperware should be very cheap because there's no point in buying it at Salvation Army if similar or even lower prize is available at a store or online.”

“Laughing at how low the ratings are. After a wardrobe purge, this was the perfect place to drop off my stuff. They accepted a variety of high end & fast fashion clothes. I left with a generous handful of cash, any items they didn't accept will be donated.. it's not that deep.?Tip: Go in with a 'better than nothing' mindset. Sure, you might make more money from other consignment retailers but for getting rid of a large volume of clothes, Plato's is by far the most convenient and you receive cash the day of.The volume of negative ratings is unreasonable... At the end of the day, y'all are selling **USED** clothing & accessories. Be grateful if you get anything for it at all. Unless you are getting rid of Dior, Prada, etc. you are likely overestimating the value of your items.All the young girls who served me were very cute and sweet.”

“I had a positive first experience selling at Plato's this morning. It wasn't even that they took many items, but the girls took the time to answer my questions, give me feedback and even offer other selling suggestions that I hadn't thought of. Working at a similar business, I understand complaints about few items being taken. What the store takes is always a bit subjective depending on who's working that day - moreover, changing inventory needs and navigating a business with a high employee turnover make it extremely challenging to maintain consistency. But the girls working today were quick, helpful and professional and took the time to explain why they weren't taking certain things - that's why I will return to sell at Plato's again. I don't know who these 'bratty teenagers' are that people have been complaining about, but perhaps they just weren't working today :)”
