“For the last few days, I've been touring apartments all over Scottsdale. Saw cheap studios <$1k/mo, and the higher end including Palladium and Broadstone Waterfront (>$2k/mo 1bd). It was really hard to pick. Since a lot of places have availability, I almost waited to apply...
But then I decided to drive back an hour later and submit the $300 application since I wanted to reserve this amazing option!
So happy I did. I ultimately chose The Standard because of its quality and value. I work from home and want a place where I can see myself investing a few years in. Also very happy to be near downtown / main street, and the canal for jogging.
The property manager, head maintenance guy, and especially Jasmine in the leasing office were all super friendly, genuine, and high-integrity when I visited. Patiently answered millions of questions. Very accessible and neighborly (a couple of them live here). Not so impersonal like the other bigger properties around.
The unit itself is gorgeous, as is the rest of the building. Really excited to move in on Tuesday!”

I've rented apartments for 20 years and this is the best, nicest place I've ever rented. I lived here 3 years, from April 2022 to April 2025.
Lauren reminds me of a real estate agent from Beverly Hills, she is so welcoming, helpful, and knowledgeable. Lauren understands the renters market in Scottsdale better than anyone. Lynn is the most dedicated, hardest working woman you will find. She is always at her desk and always willing to help.
Mark, the maintenance man is so nice. Mark is always on the property working and helping. My apartment was so nice, corner unit with views of McDowell Mountains. It was so quiet and peaceful. Residents are respectful. I will miss this place. Thank you for the great memories.”
“I recently moved back to Scottsdale and have been so pleasantly surprised living at The Nines.
It may be one of the “older” apartment communities, but it’s incredibly well cared for and recently renovated. My place feels brand new. (Appliances are soooo good).
Kirsten was a huge help making sure I found the right apartment, and the maintenance team has been quick and responsive with the few things I needed after moving in. Everyone in the office has been wonderful.
I love the amenities here.
The gym is small but very functional, and the pool is GORGEOUS….truly one of the best in Scottsdale. And being so close to Kierland shopping is a major bonus.

“We just moved out after living at Tatum Place since 2022 and have had a great experience. Rhonda in the front office is fantastic! Always friendly, helpful, and quick to take care of anything we needed. The maintenance team is also excellent and responds quickly whenever repairs come up. Only hiccup is the water shut-offs every few months, but it’s not a huge deal because they give you adequate notice. Overall, it’s been a great place to live and we’ve really appreciated how well the community is managed. Thank you Tatum Place!”

“I stayed here for 5 days and it is a good place to stay. We found this place on Airbnb and it is just as good as the pictures shown. Very homely like a home away from home. Pima Inn has all the amenities and also, it is in walking distance for essentials or a bite to eat. To go further out you can get an Uber or hire your own car to get around, heading to downtown Phoenix and so forth. If I come back to AZ I would opt into coming here again in Scottsdale.”
“The standout feature of Scottsdale Horizon is definitely its location—such a fantastic area that I already miss. The landscaping is beautifully maintained, and I loved strolling along the winding sidewalks in the community with my dog. The nearby neighborhoods are also perfect for walks.
The pools always looked clean and well-maintained, though I never used them. The gym, despite being small, had a decent variety of equipment, but it lacked a stationary bike. There were two treadmills and two ellipticals, but no bike at all. My doctor had recommended using a recumbent bike after my knee surgery, so I had to go elsewhere.
I was really disappointed with the interior of the apartment and regretted moving in almost immediately. The apartments, built nearly 40 years ago, still have an obvious 80's vibe. While the appliances were newer and some updates had been made, like replacing flooring and fixtures, the overall look hadn't changed much. The ceiling fans still had pull chains, which could easily be modernized with remotes or wall controls. I was shocked by how tiny the toilets were in my two-bedroom apartment! With my knee issues, they were very difficult to use. However, they were very accommodating and replaced the toilet in my primary bathroom with a taller one when I requested it!
The kitchen might work for someone who doesn’t cook or has minimal cookware, but it was far too small for me. I should have realized from the start that it wouldn’t work, but I decided to give it a try anyway. I ended up storing most of my pans and small appliances in the second bathroom cabinet. The coil burner stove was another downside, and the lack of a sprayer in the kitchen faucet made cleaning much harder than it needed to be. The oven didn’t maintain the correct temperature, making it unreliable for cooking food properly. Using the kitchen became so frustrating that I eventually gave up on most of my cooking and baking.
I wouldn’t recommend leasing an apartment with double sun exposure like mine had. It seemed great at first with patios and sliding doors on both the east and west sides, but those summer electric bills were brutal! The apartment always felt dark and dreary since I had to keep the blinds closed all the time. The brown walls, floors, countertops, and cabinetry didn’t help either. An updated color scheme would make a huge difference, even if it’s the only improvement they make. Painting the inside of the cabinets and drawers? Tacky, tacky, tacky! And the resin or clearcoat on the worn-out countertops was no better—it peeled, blistered, and was full of pits and bubbles.
They were fair with my deposit, but I feel the cost of fixing a small gash in the flooring was steep, especially since the flooring seems like the cheapest option available. A better-quality floor wouldn't peel up so easily, like paper.
I’ll wrap up with this: Jared deserves a lot of credit! His extraordinary empathy and understanding stood out when I talked to him about my issues. While others might have brushed me off with a dismissive remark, Jared genuinely cared when I was upset or frustrated. Though he couldn’t completely resolve problems like the noisy upstairs neighbor, his efforts made a noticeable difference and improved the situation. One whole star in this review is for Jared alone—without him, it would have been just a 3-star review!”

She even took time out of her schedule to show me around the property. As of May 4th I'll be moving into my beautiful apartment!!”

“I lived at Scottsdale Serrento for 8 years split between two appartments. The first was a nice and nice sized one bedroom on the second floor. The second was a 2 bedrom on the ground floor.This was an overall great place to live. The staff was nice, the grounds were generally well cared for, and the apartments were comfortable. The prices didn't get quite so bad but the "fair market price" excuse wore thin as the rental market is rife with price gouging. While not immune Scottsdale Serrento was much better than most. The access to Scottsdale's Civic Center, Old Town and Entertainment District including Scottsdale Fashion Square is also a huge asset combined with being removed enough to be in a generally quiet location.There were a few minor sticking points during the eight years I was there however it still remains the longest location that I have lived anywhere in my over 4 decades of life -- that speaks to my feelings about the place.Perfect? Nope. Haven't found anyplace I could say that about. However they were good enough to get a 4 out of 5 stars. Worth moving into.”
