I can’t recommend The Car Shop enough. I originally came here because I was looking for a small, independent repair shop that was honest, trustworthy, and fairly priced. They have exceeded my expectations in every one of those areas. Here’s been my experience so far:

A while back, I took my car to the Mazda dealership for a free recall repair. While it was there, they recommended several thousand dollars’ worth of maintenance that I wasn’t convinced was necessary. I brought both my car and the dealership’s recommendations to The Car Shop for a second opinion. They walked me through each item, explaining what was and wasn’t actually needed based on the manufacturer’s maintenance schedule and my vehicle’s mileage. Not only did they save me from paying for unnecessary work, but the services they did perform were significantly less expensive than the dealership’s quotes.

During the same visit, I also asked them to diagnose my A/C because it wasn’t blowing cold air. They performed extensive testing, clearly explained the results, and presented me with two options: a lower-cost repair that would likely be a temporary improvement, or a more comprehensive repair involving replacement of several major A/C components that would provide a longer-lasting solution. They never pressured me either way. After discussing the pros and cons, I decided to go with the more extensive repair.

It was admittedly an expensive job, but they were transparent about the costs from the beginning, shopped around to find the best prices on replacement parts, and even offered a discount for paying in cash. On top of that, they performed my oil change and rear differential fluid service at no additional charge to help offset the cost of the repair.

Everything worked perfectly for about six months before the A/C stopped blowing cold again. I brought it back to The Car Shop, and they quickly diagnosed a leak, repaired it, and recharged the refrigerant completely free of charge because the work was covered under their warranty.

Finding an honest mechanic can be difficult, but these guys have earned my trust. They take the time to explain their recommendations, don’t try to sell you work you don’t need, stand behind their repairs, and charge fair prices. I’ll definitely continue bringing my vehicles here and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable local shop.”

“This place is pleasant to wash my vehicles at, they have everything you could possibly need to get the job done. If you so happen to leave your consumables at home like your armor all, they have vending machines to pull out small quantities. The prices aren't bad. For being a self car wash, its a little pricey. But it's kept neat and clean and there's ample room to get around with my trailer, only if you choose the lane far to the right. If you pull in with your trailer on the far left lane, you will regret it, I guess you can back up. They also have air dryer, I don't use it but I do see many that do, seems to work just fine.”

“I was so impressed with the Customer Service at Discount Tire in Tempe! I had a flat tire on the 1-10 and had roadside service 3 hours after USAA was called. I was told by the man that changed my tire that the spare needed to be replaced. Per his recommendation, I limped my way to Discount Tire. Nick helped me and was so kind and positive about the outcome of this rough day by showing me my options and qualities of the tires. I purchased 2 as the other back tire was equally worn ! “10/10 would recommended to anyone in the area. When I got out of the gym on Saturday, I came to my car to notice that my tire was flat. I walked across the street to ask if I could buy a spare & someone change it for me, but Mike went the extra mile & walked across the street to the EOS parking lot, attempted to put air in my tire. We realized it was a lost cause & I slowly drove it across the street to Big O. Mike then went on to tell me that it may be good to change all 4 of my tires since they were over 3 years old. I did so, and they even left me the best one as a spare for me to have. When things like this happen out of nowhere, it could ruin your day. But Mike’s professionalism and attentive to detail while going the extra mile made me leave with a smile on my face.
