Maple Paw
2085 Skyline Dr, BurnabyYES YES YES YES YEEEEEEESSSSSS!! I recommend this store!!! Woohoo!!Short backup on why: I was at another local pet shop and I bought these AMAZING freeze dried bully sticks (at $14-17.99 according to the sticker on the product, little did I know I was rung up $29.50 for it ... did not even know. Til I was arranging to pay on the phone for more)... so of course now I'm a tad irked I paid double the price I saw. But. Anyways. Whatever. The prices was a lot higher for the larger bag of chicken discs (we call them that) the Farmland Traditions Jerky... so a bit of thinking I decided to google some going market prices....FARMLAND WITH MP ($25 for 16oz bag, the other store $38 )VITAL FD BULLY STICKS ($22 for 5 pack, the other store $29 )I wanted 2 Bully 1 chicken and a bag of kibbles ($29 for kibbles I found another store that will sell that to me for sale plus $5 coupon I have so it will be around $21) for $147.... So if we minus about $35 for the kibbles that's $110 for 1 bag of chicken and 2 bags of sticks.I got 3 bags of chicken and 3 bags of sticks for $140 (difference of $30 I got 2 bags more of chicken and one more bag of sticks.... This is huge savings!!!)Best part? I ordered it just before 8 pm on Tuesday and it arrived at noon on Wednesday. They beat Amazon on speedWow I'm so impressed. No frills. Simple brown spare box just says maple paw and it doesn't even have invoice. Just the food and on time. I can dig that. And my dog is thrilled.I’ve just ordered my second order during the Thanksgiving long weekend and it came today, Tuesday Oct 10, I ordered it like Oct 8. They delivered it right on time. Texted me to make sure it was left where I’d like it. Photo to show me where exactly it wasAnd I just placed my 3rd order in 3 weeks. About $500 spent now so far and still always perfect.

Tailstopia
6626A Hastings St, BurnabyBest customer service I’ve received in a long time! Went in on Thursday evening looking for flea medication for my cat but didn’t know his weight - either above 4kg or below. After receiving some good advice and what felt like true, genuine care for an animal this person had never and will never meet, we settled on the above 4kg dose. Then he threw in some wet cat food samples and told me to go home, weigh my cat and if he was less than 4kg, don’t open the box and come back for an exchange. Lovely person and told me to join the points club with my next purchase but to keep this receipt so it can count. (Spoiler alert: cat weighed in at 13lbs… my furry dude is going on a diet!!)

Metro Dogs Daycare & Grooming Salon
4438 Dawson St, BurnabyLovely walk-in experience with Sabrina! Just wow.
For context, my dog usually hates getting her toe nails clipped, especially her dew claws. I used to get her nails clipped at a vet clinic by a Dr or Nurse, she would squeel, try and break free and in some cases, try to nip at the groomer. The vet told me it might be a sign that she has arthritis hence the sensitivity...
However, with Sabrina, she was so calm, didnt even tremble or squeel!! She was just as calm in Sabrina's arm when she was whisked away to the back to get her nails trimmed, and still just as calm and chill when she returned. Highly recommend Metro Dogs!! THANK YOU ?

Puptown Girls Dog Daycare & Spaw
3999 2nd Ave, BurnabyPuptown Girls has become my go-to — my dogs stay here when I’m at work, and that alone says everything.
The care feels consistent, thoughtful, and genuinely personal. The staff clearly know the dogs, not just their names but their personalities, routines, and little quirks. Drop-offs are easy, pick-ups are calm, and the dogs come home settled and happy — never stressed.
What really stands out is the trust factor. When you leave your dogs somewhere regularly, you notice quickly whether it’s just a service or a place that truly cares. Puptown Girls feels like the latter every single time.
If you’re looking for a place you can rely on again and again, this one is it.
? Highly trusted and highly recommended.

K9 Best Behaviour Dog Training
4149 Dundas St, BurnabySerena came highly recommended from our friends that have a golden retriever and have been training with her for years. Our dog was pulling and reactive to other dogs, I had tried everything! Different collars, leashes, harnesses, practicing on daily walks and nothing changed till we signed up with Serena. Shes the very best! All the dogs love her and listen to her. I was blown away with the first zoom call and learned so much. I was so excited as It was exactly what we needed. Serena recommended a collar and leash and helped me the first day on how to work with my dog to succeed. You would not believe the difference in my dog! I can hold a coffee while I walk him, while holding the leash with 1 finger! He doesn’t chase squirrels or birds or rip my arm out of my socket! My dog is so good with other dogs now and will sit right beside them calmly. I can take him anywhere with me and I’m confident he will be so behaved! Serena has exceeded all our expectations in every way! Thank you so much Serena for helping us as it has been a game changer for our family. We are so proud of our dog and have so many people stop us to find out where we went for dog training! We are so glad we signed up!

CHÉN - CHEN Vietnamese Restaurant
4280 Hastings St, BurnabySorry no pics I ate it too fast lol
Get their ‘special’ menu items, it’s genuinely a big cut above standard phó/vermicelli. Had number 37, I’m gonna come back and get it every time (I’m that kind of person). The portion wasn’t big but the amount of meat was generous for the size and the flavour was excellent. Well balanced and spiced and will plenty of veggies to put in as well as garlic and thai chillies on the side. Not greasy, not too salty.
It’s chill in here, I like the decor and the staff are friendly. They give you a good sized pot of tea and in general aren’t going to check up much but that’s okay with me.

Gabi & Jules Handmade Pies and Baked Goodness
4568 Hastings St, BurnabyThis is our first visit to your store. We picked up: red pepper crostata, carrot cake, large Chicken Pot pie, Merry Berry pie and a Caramel Macchiato icebox.
I called the Burnaby store this morning and a lovely lady set aside a Merry Berry pie for me despite it being busy. ?? We really appreciated this. With a newborn, we didn't have time to place a pie earlier. Our neighbours really love your pies and shared 2 kinds with us on Halloween (including the Caramel Macchiato cheesecake).
You have a lovely store and nice employees. Prices are on the higher end for pastries and pies.
There was a bit of confusion around the Caramel Macchiato because we asked the lady for the CM cheesecake and were instead given a CM icebox. We only realized this when we were sitting outside in the car.
Just a bit of feedback for the store employee:
If the CM icebox isn't an option listed on your website (yes we checked again), it would be good to clarify if the customer wanted the CM cheesecake or CM icebox. Initially we wanted to return it but we didn't feel great about it likely being tossed out. So we'll give the CM icebox a try. Overall still a good experience given the customer service during the initial phone call. We look forward to trying the other goodies when we get home.
