“What a wonderful interesting little store. It's fully vegetarian and probably 99% vegan from glancing around. A variety of products predominately from Taiwan but a few others mixed in as well. Great quality plus the handful of processed/artificial often found in Asian ingredients. The products that called me out were the Taiwanese 'vegan floss'; I got 2 types with truly unique ingredient combos. It's a great shredded texture for mixing in food like rice bowls or soups (and as toppings). The store is pretty plain and simple but not bad. The lady working was super friendly with historical things and chit chat. I think only a few types of these stores exist on the entire west coast. As such, a few of them might wholesale to other cafes/restaurants. It'll be interesting to see their future retail/wholesale plans; I'd love to see more cafes/restaurants source these stores for local supplier support of vegetarian/vegan options (for any combination of entrees and/or toppings). For something super neat and a bit offbeat, check it out!”
“I needed some cutlery as i was in my hotel room late at night and had to cut some food. Just so happened to walk down the street and met the most friendly store owner and his super cute dog. Thank you for your hospitality and the knife and forks! Youre a gem✨️?”
“Friendly people, you can get products that are difficult to find, and if it's not there, ask the maybe able to bring it in for you.

“They have everything from snacks you wouldn't normally find in other Japanese specialty stores as well as specific ingredients for cooking and baking. The Shop over was very helpful and kind in helping me find what I was looking for, and is able able to speak and understand both Japanese and English which was very helpful for items I am not able to describe in English. This is now my regular go to store for Japanese items and nececcities. They even have hot food as well which is so wonderful, it reminded me of being back in Japan <3 thank you”
“Good selection of Japanese goods but selection available by chance. When available wagyu beef excellent for sukiyaki and good side garnishes. Lunch bowls and bento boxes are great especially nearing closing time.”
“Kuo Hua Supermarket in Richmond is a fantastic spot for anyone looking to explore Taiwanese products. The variety here is impressive, from frozen foods to kitchenware, and the drink selection is diverse and satisfying. The snack aisle is a treat, offering a great range of choices that are hard to find elsewhere. I love how they bring in seasonal items like mooncakes, which adds a festive touch to the shopping experience. The staff are always helpful and make you feel welcome. Plus, there's plenty of parking available, making it a convenient stop. Whether you're stocking up on essentials or just browsing, Kuo Hua is definitely worth a visit!”
“My favorite Filipino store! Aside from the usual Filipino grocery stuff, they also sell cooked meals and desserts.
Their cooked food are definitely better than most Filipino restaurants I've been to. It would be nice if they'd open a restaurant.”
“SDM was full today so they suggested I go here to get a consultation and prescription. Even though they were very busy they were still able to see me pretty quickly. The pharmacist that helped me was very nice, patient and informative.”

“Small store with little variety. Good if you are looking for main middle eastern products. Prices are ok as it’s not a volume store. Very nice owner. He should change the name of the store to get more customers.”

“Hey @jfoodreviews here,
I was killing time as bigway hot pot had a queue to dine in.
Although the staff had a language barrier with ENGLISH, they still were able to give what I wanted.
Having fond memories of eating dim sum with my Chinese friends (as a Canadian) I wanted to buy chrysanthemum tea. After the mention of what I wanted the gentlemen had found what I was looking for ! I don’t think you can buy this kind of tea from Superstore or Walmart or London drugs, so I was pleasantly surprised to find it here!
I had also bought weight loss tea as I was getting a little more fatter.
Both items came out to $9.60
Usually when purchasing tea , it costs an arm and a leg. Here for the ones I ended up getting were inexpensive.”
“Small shop, but I got everything I need for Chinese cooking. Especially the fruit and vegetables were wrapped well and clean. it's a ideal place for grab and go.”
“Excellent customer service from Sabrina, in the bakery section, who went out of her way to give my son a cookie.
She was clearly busy and in the middle of her work when she saw my son standing there. She stopped everything she was doing, washed her hands and put on a pair of gloves to give my son the last free cookie of the day.
That’s really going the extra mile in my book.”
“I had the pleasure of being assisted by a gentlemen named Max at Red Carrot Farm Market, and I can't say enough about his exceptional service. From the moment I walked in, Max greeted me with a warm smile and was incredibly helpful throughout my visit. He’s extremely knowledgeable about the produce and always offers great recommendations. His friendly demeanor and willingness to go the extra mile made my shopping experience a delight. Whether you need advice on what’s in season or help finding a specific item, Max is the person to ask! Red Carrot is lucky to have him as part of their team. (Give the man a raise ong)”
“Very friendly, funny, helpful cashier! Bought 3x of items each time in 1 day during the duration time. Got Kuamquat candies ( jar ) for only $1.00. Regular prices elsewhere is ( $3.49+tx ). Good deal!”
“Had a chance to visit the store to gather some European candies for my kids school project. We found what we wanted but what I left the store was with a warm heart and an awesome interaction with the host.”
“Nice small Indian supermarket located in Richmond. There is a variety of authentic Indian stuff there you could find. Kinda pricey for some items if you wish to have.”
“Sorry to see your story on the news. What you need to do is have a security receipt checker at the door. Just like Costco, you check real quick before they leave store , if no receipt well then no take groceries. Just having someone standing there doing that might stop the theft ! Hi viz vest on with security written on the back. Theives are cowards they want it easy”
“Idk about their business... but I go to this warehouse once a week to pick up an entire skid FULL of produce that they donate to a community kitchen in the DTES, no charge. And not the half dead expired stuff either; this stuff is top quality. They feed the people, and I know they do this for a LOT of other community groups, too. Unfi is awesome!”

“?????
I can’t thank the team at Safeway Seafair in Richmond enough! I had a last-minute task of filling a concert rider for a show at the River Rock, and I was pretty flustered, to say the least. But the incredible staff here made it a breeze. No less than 8 team members jumped in to help, offering spot-on suggestions and going above and beyond to help me tackle my list. The kindness and expertise they showed made a stressful situation so much easier to handle. Huge thanks to the amazing crew at Safeway Seafair – you saved the day!”
“Supermarket 2000 @ Richmond BC, very convenient location by bus or skytrain. Outside Free parkings. Fresh meat + produce + wide selection of HK food products but a little bit pricey.”
“A Wonderful Experience at Duruma Japanese market
I recently visited Duruma Japanese market, and I was incredibly impressed by the quality and variety of products they offer. From fresh produce and authentic Japanese snacks to specialty items like Japanese Onigirai they had everything I was looking for. The store is clean, well-organized, and has a welcoming atmosphere.
The staff were friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. They were quick to answer my questions and even gave me great recommendations on some lesser-known products. I really appreciated the attention to detail in stocking unique and hard-to-find items that cater to authentic Japanese cuisine.
Overall Duruma Japanese market is my go-to spot for all things Japanese! Highly recommend this store to anyone who enjoys Japanese food or is looking to explore new and delicious ingredients.”
