“What a wonderful interesting little store. It's fully vegetarian and probably 99% vegan from glancing around. A variety of products predominately from Taiwan but a few others mixed in as well. Great quality plus the handful of processed/artificial often found in Asian ingredients. The products that called me out were the Taiwanese 'vegan floss'; I got 2 types with truly unique ingredient combos. It's a great shredded texture for mixing in food like rice bowls or soups (and as toppings). The store is pretty plain and simple but not bad. The lady working was super friendly with historical things and chit chat. I think only a few types of these stores exist on the entire west coast. As such, a few of them might wholesale to other cafes/restaurants. It'll be interesting to see their future retail/wholesale plans; I'd love to see more cafes/restaurants source these stores for local supplier support of vegetarian/vegan options (for any combination of entrees and/or toppings). For something super neat and a bit offbeat, check it out!”
“I needed some cutlery as i was in my hotel room late at night and had to cut some food. Just so happened to walk down the street and met the most friendly store owner and his super cute dog. Thank you for your hospitality and the knife and forks! Youre a gem✨️?”

“They have everything from snacks you wouldn't normally find in other Japanese specialty stores as well as specific ingredients for cooking and baking. The Shop over was very helpful and kind in helping me find what I was looking for, and is able able to speak and understand both Japanese and English which was very helpful for items I am not able to describe in English. This is now my regular go to store for Japanese items and nececcities. They even have hot food as well which is so wonderful, it reminded me of being back in Japan <3 thank you”
“Good selection of Japanese goods but selection available by chance. When available wagyu beef excellent for sukiyaki and good side garnishes. Lunch bowls and bento boxes are great especially nearing closing time.”

“My favorite Filipino store! Aside from the usual Filipino grocery stuff, they also sell cooked meals and desserts.
Their cooked food are definitely better than most Filipino restaurants I've been to. It would be nice if they'd open a restaurant.”
“SDM was full today so they suggested I go here to get a consultation and prescription. Even though they were very busy they were still able to see me pretty quickly. The pharmacist that helped me was very nice, patient and informative.”

I was killing time as bigway hot pot had a queue to dine in.
Although the staff had a language barrier with ENGLISH, they still were able to give what I wanted.
Having fond memories of eating dim sum with my Chinese friends (as a Canadian) I wanted to buy chrysanthemum tea. After the mention of what I wanted the gentlemen had found what I was looking for ! I don’t think you can buy this kind of tea from Superstore or Walmart or London drugs, so I was pleasantly surprised to find it here!
I had also bought weight loss tea as I was getting a little more fatter.
Both items came out to $9.60
Usually when purchasing tea , it costs an arm and a leg. Here for the ones I ended up getting were inexpensive.”

She was clearly busy and in the middle of her work when she saw my son standing there. She stopped everything she was doing, washed her hands and put on a pair of gloves to give my son the last free cookie of the day.

“Idk about their business... but I go to this warehouse once a week to pick up an entire skid FULL of produce that they donate to a community kitchen in the DTES, no charge. And not the half dead expired stuff either; this stuff is top quality. They feed the people, and I know they do this for a LOT of other community groups, too. Unfi is awesome!”

“A Wonderful Experience at Duruma Japanese market
I recently visited Duruma Japanese market, and I was incredibly impressed by the quality and variety of products they offer. From fresh produce and authentic Japanese snacks to specialty items like Japanese Onigirai they had everything I was looking for. The store is clean, well-organized, and has a welcoming atmosphere.
The staff were friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. They were quick to answer my questions and even gave me great recommendations on some lesser-known products. I really appreciated the attention to detail in stocking unique and hard-to-find items that cater to authentic Japanese cuisine.
