    “Even if it doesn't have as big of a selection as bigger chain grocery stores, I find myself coming here much more often. It's close to home and the staff is friendly. The quality of the meat is really good, and their produce section usually has a good selection. They have all the basics that I regularly need.One time I came in looking for dried chives, the manager or owner (I assume) came over and offered to help me look. When he realized that they did not stock chives, he ordered some on the spot. And now they should be stocking chives! It is nice to have that kind of local connection you wouldn't find at bigger stores.”

    “Best bakery service I’ve experienced in Surrey! I honestly never expected to find such an amazing bakery experience at Safeway, but Safeway Sunshine Hills completely surprised me today. I went in to buy birthday cakes for my kids, and the bakery staff—Manveer and Raman—were absolutely wonderful. Manveer, in particular, did an incredible job decorating the cake. You could truly see that it was done from the heart, with so much care and attention to detail. I’m so grateful to her. I walked out with a big smile on my face, and my kids were super excited when they saw their cake. The prices were very reasonable as well, which made the experience even better. Thank you to the bakery team for making our day so special. I will definitely be coming back!”

I love seeing the items on their last legs getting discounts: it simplifies decision making when it comes to same-day meals. The store is clean and well laid out.     “I have been shopping at this store for the last 20 years and visit almost every week. It is one of my favorite stores, and I usually spend $100–150, sometimes even more. For the past few years, I haven’t felt the store was very welcoming. But today around 8:00 p.m., Mary made my visit special. She greeted me with a big smile, said hello, thanked me, and was very kind and friendly. After a long time, I finally felt truly welcomed as a customer.     Walmart wants your groceries at the door before the ice cream softens. On May 29, the retailer said its 30-minute-or-less delivery had reached 33 U.S. markets, adding a wave of new cities across the Northeast. Shoppers in those areas can order from more than 100,000 items, everything from fresh produce and baby formula to pet food, electronics, cold medicine, and prescriptions. Behind the scenes, the service leans on Walmart's store network and an algorithm that factors in order size, available drivers, and distance from the store.
