Pet Grooming

Alamo Pet Grooming
3176 Danville Blvd, AlamoVenessa & team at Alamo Pet Grooming (aka Venessa's Pet Spa) is the best of the best. I have been bringing my dogs here for 17 years. From my old grouchy Labradoodle (who is in dog park heaven now) to my temperamental rescue Maltipoo, and my sweet goof-ball Goldendoodle, Venessa does a fantastic job. I know my fur-babies are in great hands.

Deborah Knibb, D.V.M.
3217 Danville Blvd, Alamohonestly i felt so relieved the moment we walked in, like a weight just lifted off my shoulders. been coming to debbie for years now with my little terrier who hates the vet more than anything but she always makes him calm. the office is small and doesn't look fancy at all but thats what I like about it, it feels real and no one is trying to upsell you a bunch of stuff you dont need. she remembered my dog's name without me even saying it which is kind of embarasing becuase I know how busy she is. prices are fair and I never feel rushed, always feel like she actually listened. already booked our next visit for a checkup in two months, wouldn't go anywehre else.

Alamo Pet Care Hospital
3217 Danville Blvd, AlamoShe's an excellent vet. I swear by her. She has decades of experience and it shows.
Once I brought one of my old cats to the vet due to an emergency. He had stopped eating and was hiding; he was barely there. She took him in. Turns out my cat was dealing with liver failure. Had I waited 24 hours, he would have been dead. She immediately began hydration IVs and other treatment. Due to her extensive knowledge, she was able to recognize that he was dealing with a major infection, leptospirosis (rare in cats but it happens), which targets the liver. She correctly treated him with antibiotics when most other vets would have assumed that it was rat poison. After two days at the vet, my orange boy was back home, alive!
So I trust this vet with any difficult pet affairs, especially when it comes to cats. She's deeply knowledgeable and I can't recommend her enough.

Alamo Cafe
1 Alamo Square Dr, AlamoWaited 15 minutes for the host to even look up from her phone and pretend i existed nearly walked out. Really glad I didn't though because the chilaquiles were unbelievably good exactly the kind of comfort food i needed that day. The waitress was super nice and checked on me a few times which felt genuine not forced.
Coffee was just okay a little weak for my taste but the fresh toppings bar with the cilantro and crema more than made up for it. Atmosphere is loud and chaotic not a spot for a quiet conversation but the vibe is warm and welcoming somehow.
Always leave feeling full and happy which is honestly all I really ask for.

Extreme Pizza
3227 Danville Blvd, AlamoWhoever I spoke to over the phone 6/14/25 around 7pm was amazing. We were staying at a hotel outside of their delivery area and wanted something that off the current menu. She was very accommodating. I did have to order off DoorDash due to the proximity and ended up picking pick up instead of delivery.. that was my mistake. But all employees were great! Food was great too!

EJ Phair Alehouse & Pub: Alamo
225 Alamo Plaza, Alamoreally solid spot overall. the patio is nice and the beer list changes up enough to keep me coming back.
food came out quick and the burger was cooked right. not mind blowing but definitely does the job when you want a pub meal without fuss.
however, the fries were barely warm by the time they hit the table. kinda took the edge off an otherwise good meal.
service was friendly but a little slow at the end when we wanted the check. felt like we sat there for a while.
i get that its a popular place so they get busy, but they could tighten up the timing a bit.
still, id come back with friends without complaining. its a dependable place and thats worth a lot.
