2536 San Carlos Avenue, Castro ValleyI’ve taken my Cavalier King Charles Spaniel to several groomers, and I finally realized I needed someone who truly understands her breed and its specific grooming needs. Unfortunately, many traditional groomers weren’t listening to my requests and were making mistakes with her beautiful coat.
Finding this groomer has been the best decision! I’m genuinely happy every single time I pick her up. You can tell they understand different breeds, their coats, and the level of care each dog deserves.
What also sets this place apart is how friendly and welcoming everyone is. I’ve experienced groomers who made the process feel like an assembly line, just trying to get as many dogs in and out as possible. That is definitely not the experience here.
I highly recommend them for Cavalier owners, AKC-recognized breeds, designer breeds, and honestly, any pet parent who wants quality grooming and people who genuinely care about their dogs. It’s such a relief to finally find a groomer I can trust!

They were sweet and understanding. Yevette went into details with me bout his hair. He is a golden/ husky mix and can be super nervous. She worked her magic for his first time. I truly appreciate knowing my boy is in great hands! Already on the books for his next appointment! 10/10 recommend !

They seem reasonable/slightly higher priced, however who wouldn't want to pay for extra care, betterment of your pet, and general well-being. I've never seen other vets in Castro Valley but can see there are plenty of choices, however this is were we feel the most comfortable for the last 3 years

Golden State Pet Crematorium
22163 Redwood Road, Castro ValleyI don't even know where to start with this company and their amazing staff...the care and compassion they show for those grieving the loss of their pet babies is just TOP NOTCH! I sadly lost my best girl, my female lizard, back in December during an operation she was having at neighboring Groveway Vet Hospital. It was out of the blue somewhat and really threw me out of whack. This lizard was my whole beating heart. I loved and continue to love her dearly. Caroline at GSPC was sooo patient, kind, and understanding of my situation as at the time of my baby's passing, my finances were also very poor. Seeing how much of a struggle it all had been for me, Caroline went majorly above and beyond to assist me, give me info, explain how everything would work for my girl's ashes, etc. And the most kind part...she comped me a live viewing of my baby's cremation as well as other aftercare gifts so I could fully be there with her every step of the way, even on a massive budget. I can't thank Caroline or the staff at GSPC enough for this gesture...it really touched me in this difficult time of my life. Caroline is truly a gem and was made for the industry! If you are in need of mortuary services for your pets (hopefully not anytime soon haha), please please please give this company your money!!! Amazing amazing amazing. I am so so thankful I found them. 1000/10! :)

3762 Castro Valley Boulevard, Castro ValleyI cannot thank the team at Redwood Animal Hospital enough for their incredible compassion. It was incredibly difficult to find a vet who would see a bird. As I was frantically calling around, I quickly realized how rare it is to find a vet that treats Birds, Small Mammals like hamsters, Reptiles & Amphibians, Invertebrates & Fish.
IF YOU NEED AN EXOTICS VET, THIS IS THE ONLY PLACE THAT I KNOW OF IN THE EAST BAY.
I called them in a panic when Clyde, my late mother's 5-year-old parakeet, fractured his wing. I didn't know exactly how he hurt it, though I suspected the cat in our home might have had something to do with it. Clyde is a very sweet boy and my last connection to my mom after she passed on New Year's Eve in 2025.
Because I am responsible for multiple animals, I couldn't financially provide for his surgery, but I knew he deserved a home where he could get the immediate care and love he needed. When I asked if they knew anyone who could adopt him, one of the vets there was kind enough to personally take him on and adopt him.
Thank you all so much for showing me absolute grace and not judging me during a heartbreaking situation. Your empathy saved a very special bird, and knowing he is safe and thriving gives me immense peace🙏🏽

3489 Castro Valley Boulevard, Castro ValleyCan I just say how appreciative I am of having found this pet hospital? My dog Kyla was experiencing what I believed were respiratory issues. She was struggling to breathe for a good 10mins. I had no idea where to take her so early in the morning and a quick google search led me here. I arrived, I asked if they take walk-ins for emergencies because my dog was struggling to breathe. It is all a blur to me after this but I remember hearing the staff yell out “oxygen!” And they took her back. I was bawling my eyes out. The staff was so comforting and handled everything so graciously! The vet came out and told me Kyla experienced a reverse sneeze and that she was stable. They brought her out shortly after that and gave me information on what to do and why it happens. I learned 2 things that day: what a reverse sneeze was, and that there really are angels walking on earth. Thank you to the staff for their quick actions and providing comfort in our time of need.

We have 2 cats at home and were working towards learning how to train our dog in order to integrate cats and dogs safely. Mitch is very knowledgeable, patient and encouraging and we were able to learn the skills to ensure everyone could mix safely. I am happy to say we are an integrated cat and dog household now. Before his 3-week board-and-train program, walks were stressful—he pulled constantly, and recall felt impossible. After training with Pat, the transformation has been incredible. He no longer pulls, his recall is solid, and I can now take him confidently to more places, even off-leash.
What really stood out is Pat’s kind, patient, and caring approach. He doesn’t use harsh discipline—instead, he focuses on the natural logic of how dogs learn and behave. Training sessions in public settings made the transition was much easier. Best of all, my dog hasn’t lost his goofy, happy personality—he’s just more confident, better behaved, and easier to enjoy life with.
This has been truly life-changing for both my dog and me. I can give him more freedom, we both have more fun, and our bond is stronger than ever. The program is absolutely worth the investment, and I can’t recommend Pat highly enough.

The drinks are great for those who enjoy creamy and sweet flavors. My assam black with oat milk was very creamy, with only light tea flavor. My friend's passionfruit peaflower was intensely was intensely sweet and fruity. The drinks were a great value for the size, and so was the black sugar boba (even if it was a tad stale). We're definitely coming back for more tasty pastries.

17936 Lake Chabot Road, Castro ValleyVisited on a Sunday and the boat tour is such a hidden gem! For just $11, you get a full one-hour guided tour, which is an amazing value. Bill was fantastic—his narration and stories made the experience even more enjoyable and interesting. We also got to spot a couple of beautiful birds along the way.
A relaxing, fun, and surprisingly memorable experience. Definitely worth checking out !

It was in the afternoon so mostly a senior crowed was there. It was quiet with golf and a review of the past NFL preseason games. The venue is nice and it was comfortable. I specifically wanted America style food and that is what the menu provided.
I chose to build an ala cart lunch lol because the prime rib stake is only on Tuesday after 2. Go figure. So I got the fried prawns, ceaser salad, and brisket chili. I want to talk about the chili because the other 2 can be purchased anywhere and be the same. The chili I tried because I hadn't heard of it before. Topped with those crispy onions my mindset was well try to do better next time. I mixed them in my chili and with some apprehension took a fork full. I just want to say my mouth is still happy over the chili. All 3 items were enough for me. If you are curious I drank iced tea.
The service. Everyone had a great attitude and treated me warmly. The thing they could do better is deliver the food together vs focusing on just getting something on the table because of time.
I will be going back and I recommend you try them out for yourself. BTW they do have a NY Stake if that cut appeals to you.
