Pet Care

Diablo View Veterinary Medical Hospital
2609 Pleasant Hill Rd, Pleasant HillI brought my Shih Tzu in because he had swallowed a pill that my mom dropped on the floor. Chloe and Ingrid took great care of Milo as well as the doctor. They immediately gave him eye drops to induce vomiting. Staff for all very friendly and made me feel comfortable that my dog would be getting the best care possible. They kept him under observation for about 6 hours. Great experience, highly recommend Diablo View Vet.

Hillcrest Veterinary Hospital
2211 Morello Ave, Pleasant HillI use minimal vet care for my 12-year-old rescue mutt, so I was expecting a little bit of polite scolding when I had to take him in for a rash that I ignored for quite a while. But they were totally professional and courteous and told me my options without any aggressive up-selling. I really appreciated it.

Dog Over Breed - Pleasant Hill
598 Patterson Blvd, Pleasant HillIf you’re looking for a well-run, positive place to drop your dog off for daycare or boarding, Dog Over Breed is fantastic. We’ve been taking our pup there since she was just 4 months old, and now at 11 months she still loves it. The new Concord facility is clean, easy to get to, and very well maintained. The owner has been incredibly helpful with advice throughout our dog’s young age, and it’s been a wonderful place for her socialization. Our dog is always excited to go and sleeps like a rock after we bring her home. This is a trusted East Bay business with great people who clearly

Pet-Friendly Restaurants

Habana Express Cuban Restaurant & Bakery
1966 Contra Costa Blvd, Pleasant HillMy boyfriend and I moved to California from Florida a few years ago and we've had a hard time finding some good Cuban spots. This location exceeded our expectations! The food is so flavorful, very good portions, and priced very well. I'm surprised they don't have a line out the door every time we have come. More people really need to check this place out. My boyfriend and I have gone here probably 3 times in the last week and we're determined to try everything on the menu. What a gem! Definitely worth checking out if you're craving some authentic Cuban food.

Posh Bagel
1420 Contra Costa Blvd, Pleasant HillOrdered the pastrami bagel sandwich. I asked for no tomato and no cucumber but I got both and no pickles, tbh is all I really wanted on my sandwich. Overall it was good but looked like a salad was on my bagel as there was barely any meat.

Urban Plates
60 Crescent Dr B, Pleasant HillI absolutely love this place. The blackened salmon with the beer and goat cheese salad is so delicious. I normally get it with the rice but I tried the truffle parm fries today and they were so good. Perfect combo with the truffle garlic aioli. And the cowboy cookie omg its just chewy amd perfectly complex. Ill never stop coming to this healthy, hearty, perfectly place.

The Hangout
2217 Morello Ave, Pleasant HillWas in the area on business and honestly the hotel breakfasts are nothing special. I found The Hangout in my quest to find a local place that has a good Yelp rating. I got there a little later in the morning and business was steady but being a solo diner, I got seated right away. The seating area was cozy and inviting. The menu had a huge selection, but I ordered the chicken and waffles. The chicken was cooked perfectly- crispy on the outside and moist, flavorful and juicy on the inside. The waffle and their house spicy syrup complimented it well. The portions were very generous and I took some of the chicken to go to enjoy later. Service was attentive, friendly and efficient. Got in an out of there pretty quickly but left extremely satisfied.

Happy Lemon
712 B Contra Costa Blvd, Pleasant HillNice little spot -- our first time here and we'll definitely be back. The kids wanted a relaxed place to work on a school project after class, and this hit the mark: comfy atmosphere, friendly staff, and plenty of seating. The menu has tons of choices; we ordered four different drinks and every one was tasty and well-made. Don't miss the waffle with puff cream -- a must-try dessert. Great for studying, hanging out, or grabbing a sweet treat.

Zio Fraedo’s
611 Gregory Ln, Pleasant HillFelt like Italian Cuisine. The place is good for large parties, with a huge parking lot( a plus). Ordered: linguini with clams, grilled salmon, Mac and cheese and steaks. While waiting for our food, I was eating their delicious bread especially adding extra butter. ( thumbs up for mom and my niece) After eating so much bread, we couldn’t finish our meals. We would definitely come back, however will eat less bread.. :)

CaliKid Burgers 'n Shakes
234 Golf Club Rd, Pleasant HillSemi new spot as of April 2026... dont know if its a franchise or not.
Ordered Hangover Angus Burger, russet fries, and strawberry shortcake shake. Started with the fries with no sauce. Pretty much perfect. Temp, texture, quality. Dip a few in there cherry spicy sauce... oh wow!!! Burger was medium and it smacked!!! The shake. Get one for yourself. If you love milkshakes, you'll be back just for that.
Ambience is chill. Not too fast food, not to fancy. Good seating selection and handicap accessible.
Try them out. Hope you enjoy! Before and after pic attached.... shake was finished on the way home! Dont question that! Ha!

The Shoya
2642 Pleasant Hill Rd, Pleasant HillWe had a great dinner here! Everything felt very authentic, and you can tell they put a lot of care into preparing their seafood. The proportions were spot on.
A huge surprise was the miso soup—it was so good that even my kids, who usually don't touch it, finished the whole bowl. The salad was simple and refreshing, and the fried chicken (karaage) was perfectly crispy and tender. The beef was a little on the salty side for my taste, but overall, it didn't take away from a really enjoyable meal.
We liked it so much that we even grabbed some nigiri to go, and the kids absolutely loved it. Definitely a spot we’ll be coming back to.
